you could try trading btc-> ltc on bitfinex or similar and ltc -> btc on btc-e.

I was looking at btc-e to coinbase

I tried btce.  Sort of a painful learning experience - the "efficient market hypothesis" proved absolutely correct.  OKPay charged me 5% to put money in and 5% to take it out so the difference between the exchanges turned out to be rational.

Yes, but it's hard to get your money out of Gox.

Is it common practice to trade between exchanges if there is say a 10-15$ price discrepancy?
