Etherdelta was the first DEX I have used. It is very easy to use but the gas fee to me is always much on my side. Most of them will require you to have at least 0.02 ETH in your wallet before transaction can proceed. Also there are low trading volume and the result in low liquidity. Most of them contain a lot of dead and scam coin that have little or no trading volume which makes the platform look substandard. Having to import your wallet using your private key always look scary to me because you never can tell dex can be attacked and your private key stole.

My very first trading experience happens on DEX that was 3 years ago, it happened on etherdelta an Ethereum base DEX. The interface is confusing sometimes you will place orders wrongly, so you need to familiarize the platform. If you place an order and someone already initiated a transaction with it either buy or sell there is no way to cancel it unlike on centralized exchange if you place a BUY order with a huge price difference with current price it will not be placed. Also, if network is clogged trading is also clogged. I have a better experience with Binance DEX their blockchain is much faster and lesser fees with a unique way of logging in.

I used to trade on Idex but one thing is that, it is different from trading on centralized exchanges, in this case, centralized exchanges offers more than it, but yet as a decentralized exchange, it offers a good trading experience. Another angle is that of volume, it is already a well-known fact that decentralized exchanges hardly have volumes which can be compared to that of its counterpart but yet Idex seems to have the best volume when it comes to DEXs. Another Dex I used to trade with is Forkdelta, but Idex looks way better than it.

Been playing around with the Blocknet DEX lately, and it seems like the most activity is on the BLOCK/LTC trading pair. Recently seen some DIVI/BLOCK trading going on as well, but really would love to see more trading on DEX's like this as I personally love to trade without giving up my personal details.

What's your own experiences with DEX's? Which one do you like the most, etc?

I'm not really sure if the Blocknet DEX site is new to the market but probably it was. Ain't no wonder why you only see BLOCK/LTC trading pairs because they don't have other coins listed to their platform. It accumulates time for sure and other projects will get listed or the devs would want to get listed to them. I have to say that, you better look for another one. There are a lot of them.

If I am going to use DEX, I've looked at those exchanges that have already a name in the market. The market volume is much important to consider and for sure there are a lot of trading pairs that you could find.

IDEX is the most simplest exchange that have come in contact. Idex is a decentralized exchange built on the ethereum blockchain, supporting erc20 tokens . Another thing is Idex supports the trade of over 300 tokens in a peer to peer environment using smart contracts to relay transactions on the ethereum blockchain.
At the moment, IDEX is the best decentralized exchange, but the liquidity at this exchange is still very low and does not meet the needs of investors. I think most decentralized exchanges have had this problem over the past few years and certainly investors will not like trading here. In my opinion, decentralized exchange is only for shitcoin lovers because this is the best place for you to do that in this market.

IDEX has been mentioned multiple times in the thread, but it's not a DEX at all.  Roll Eyes

A real DEX doesn't require any forms of registrations, personal details. It's just a peer 2 peer network, where traders can connect and trade with each other. The fees involved typically is shared with the nodes hosting the DEX. In Blocknet's case masternodes will reap the trading fees.

Yeah and that I think Dex's business is great It is often easily traded here with none hassle I traded here The fee isn't very high Still do business. Dex may be a favorite exchange on behalf of me But I do occasionally within the fork delta.

Or do they also lack orders?
Me too, Ive known idex for too long, since some of my coins before is listed in idex, I know IDEX because I quit using etherdelta, because it is hard to use etherdelta nowadays it took so long before I can use the website and also the volume there is not so good. I am using IDEX  by my metamask for me to be sure everything is secured.

Decentralized exchanges have their own specific features. Such as transaction speed, order execution time, but the main problem is liquidity.
If you decide to trade on such an exchange, choose the best.

IDEX, by the way, is a hybrid exchange and closer to centralization.
Most decentralized exchanges do not have good liquidity and this is the main reason why investors are not interested in investing. In addition, trading at DEX only made me fail more so now I only use DEX when there is a need.

Of course, you should only join some decentralized exchanges like Idex, Forkdelta or Binance Dex because these are the 3 best DEX exchanges in this market.

I would not call ForkDelt one of the best DEX exchanges due to the relatively high threshold of knowledge necessary to work with it.
As a rule on this exchange, there are big problems with liquidity, which is why newcomers can easily lose money on it.
Forkdelta is still a decentralized exchange in the way of many investors because just paste the contract of that token, you can trade easily without having to spend too much time. However, not every coin has a trader and that's why I feel a bit nervous when choosing to invest here. Anyway this exchange is the first decentralized exchange that appears in this market and needs to improve on more trading volume.

Dex is the true exchange type that stand with the concept of cryptocurrency and blockchain of being an anonymous financial institution, for that I'd say it's a plus for them. However, I've never had an amazing experience while using Dex exchanges either as they are frustrating due to low trading volumes, low liquidity and ambigous user interface that makes it difficult for user to find their way around the exchange. i have traded on quite some numbers of DEX and i must say the experience wasn't real that amazing. Virtually all of them literally lacks required volume, it's takes times or even days for some tokens listed on them to have a trade count. Again, virtually every Dex I've come across dosen't have the easy to use interface as with centralized exchanges that have mobile views for users to easily navigate their way around the exchange. Bottom line is if a coin i want to trade is on any decent centralized exchange, i see no reason for going to a Dex

Some of our team members here are big fan of swap services especially Kyber and Uniswap.
Both market rate can be pretty good and no need to deal with transferring funds into an exchange.
Just needed to be familiar with metamask.

Some investors like that they can sell and buy tokens on DEX that isn't listed anywhere else but on the DEX.  I personally like it on DEX because there is no KYC trading there. There are however more things to worry trading there because of less volume, its good to buy tokens from the team you trust but trading isn't gonna profitable there.
Actually trading at DEX makes me more frustrated because there is no trading volume and there are often very low liquidity at these exchanges. In the past I have used some DEXs like Idex, Forkdelta or Binance DEX but most of those projects were not profitable for me. Anyway, the appearance of DEX makes this market more interesting and I am much more secure at these exchanges than centralized exchanges.

The liquidity in Decentralized Exchanges especially after the death of the ERC20 token or ICO boom is very appalling. I remember back then the Decentralized Exchange i enjoyed using most was Etherdelta. You would sell off all kinds of ERC20 shitcoins in there for some ether even before they listed it and there was always some liquidity.

After the decline of Etherdelta, i haven't used Dexs that much.

I don't like doing business at Dex at all Here I find a lot of trouble and the fees are high for doing business KYC is said to be investing in most places I don't like KYC at all. Only once did I stop trading because of my dollar withholding Now I trade Etherdelta Forkdelta and Yobit It's much easier to trade here and the fees are much lower.
Trading in decentralized exchanges is often very easy to lose profit because the liquidity in these exchanges is very low and not many investors choose when participating.

I like to trade at centralized exchanges like Binance or Okex because these are very good exchanges and there are lots of good coins for investors. In addition, you don't need to worry about liquidity and can trade anytime you like.

I have not been trading with DEX for awhile now, I was only active during the time when the market is bullish or prior to that, 2017 and before to be exact. My favorite was Etherdelata, then when the site was compromise, I shift to IDEX and I love it even more, the only problem now is there are very low volume in DEX so I'll just have to wait for another altcoins season.

I've been trading on nothing else but DEX's (Oasis, STIXEX, etc)and I am quite happy, except for the times when ETH network is overloaded and fees go through the roof. But when volatility is high, for example on Oasis, there are many profit opportunities to take advantage of due to massive price spreads, you can't do that on conventional exchanges.

I used Idex for trading tokens than to use etherdelta or etherfork or another DEX because I have a terrible experience with that two DEX. I feel that the interface on Idex is more comfortable for me because I think that it is almost the same as I used the usual exchange like Binance, Poloniex, or Bittrex. But after I sold my tokens, I don't use DEX anymore, and I don't check my account lately. Perhaps, later if the bull run coming, I will check it, and I hope that my token price can increase higher.

You need to update your DEX list. Kyberswap, Uniswap, and many other DEX have caught up or even surpass IDEX and Forkdelta volume. IDEX and FD are slowly falling behind and who knows what might happen to them. Last time I remember FD is running a donation to fund the server fees and if they fail to do it again they'll probably stop running their business.

One of the cons, when you use DEX right now, is the inability to do an atomic swap or trade coins/tokens from different chains. If that can be solved, maybe we could see an increase in volume. On the other hand, no-KYC CEX with limited withdraw volume is easily found on the internet.

You can try;

Bisq
Forkdelta

But expect that the volume wont really be similar to CEX and this i the thing i dont like when dealing with dex and most people do know such thing.
Why? because they dont have fiat pairs and thats one of the reason why people do still end up on using centralized ones. Yeah we like dex
but we cant deny that there are features that we do need that we cant see into this place.

Newdex is also interesting but this is for someone who is an EOS fan. I don't follow much of the tokens there but NDX is a good token to trade because its cheap. For someone new to trading, I guess playing around with its indicators. If EOS is going to touch its all time high again, the tokens they have might also be a good invest.
DEX exchange especially new platform remains to a low market volume, this means that it is far away for the market competition against the giant trading exchanges which is mostly are centralized exchanges. That is why many traders ignored DEX because of that certain thing and to think about how could this help traders to become profitable and that volume will be a big factor to choose by.

BTW, I'm so thankful also with the DEX for giving me a chance to learn in trading but the situation may harsh and having them forever never works so well that is why we need to find another one that could make it better and have a better result.

The best thing about using a DEX is no registration. My first DEX experience was on IDEX but as soon as they started acting like a centralized exchange I stopped using it. I mean why would a DEX need registration.

I then shifted to Binance DEX, liked it but there is zero volume on almost all the pairs now therefore stopped using it too. At the moment not using any DEX.
I share the same experience with IDEX and left when registration started, also left etherdelta and Forkdelta a long time ago, etherdelta after the hack and forkdelta got unhealthy to me. Other DEX do not have the same volume like in the ERC20. DEX had been safe with records but new exchanges dont get as many listed new token that can engage trade.

Same here, have't really gone through with IDEX, mainly because they were slow at responding and I left it in the end. I know though that their volume is something many people aren't happy about and because of that it seems like it lost quite a few of its customers. For my trades I just rely on the exchanges that more or less everyone uses

I have only traded on binance dex once and it felt nothing like dex, it felt like a regular exchange, if I didn't know the difference and didn't know it was dex, I could swear it was a regular exchange like any other. I suppose when people get used to it, it is not really all that different, you could simply just act as if it is centralized if you really want to trade there or you can feel like dex is giving you more power.

However I do not even believe that binance has a true dex, theirs is basically a dex until they decide it is not and that is not something I would want to give power to anyone, a dex based on a chain that is risky is never the solution a true dex should be on ethereum because its big enough to not get under control of one person.

DEX exchange is what we usually used before but crypto development continues and finds some project developers created CEX.
Etherdelta is the first exchange I'd use and I don't have a complaint about it even HitBTC. The price is really low compared to the others but glad to see that almost all coins either old or new are listed directly on their site. It was impressive to look by. But we are looking at certain exchanges that offer a good price and might CEX exchange could make it possible.

About the Decentralized Exchanges (DEX). For my experience, I only just tried before using some ERC20 DEXs. I think it was on EtherDelta before when bull run 2017-2018, the rice of ERC20 ICOs before and a lot of people using those kinds of Decentralized Exchange where it is good since you will just import your wallet in the exchange and you can do whatever you want, no one will able to get or take over your account since you are using your own wallet to trade there.

Not just you every trader want to trade without any kyc. I did trade couple of DEX exchange (still do) and my experience wasn't so good because lack of trade volume. Many people think this one of the biggest problem in DEX exchange which are true though. In DEX another problem is you won't find maximum time proper pair that you wanted to trade with. The main reason i like DEX because it's kyc free and in DEX you can trade with real trader. Why i said that because now days we can see that many CEX running their platform by bot/bot software which are not very generous.
Trading without submitting KYC and trading using your own key without being unconcerned about your security and fully control what goes on in your wallet is the main advantage of trading into DEX exchange is the main positive things you can get, But sometimes lack of volume makes it bad to trading into DEX exchange, I traded into a DEX exchange before and the reason I stop trading there is the volume, Most of the traders trade on a custodial exchange because some custodial exchange got a good reputation in it and it is way farther comfortable trading in it, to be honest.

I do amazed that some people are still into DEX trading even we can say today that the hype of using DEX is now decreased especially when those so-called "promising projects" got crashed on the 2018 bear market.

I personally like trading on DEXes' but since the volume of the majority of coins isn't that appealing anymore, no choice but to deal with the centralized ones.

I'm surprised that there are still coins who are pumping up and showing a decent volume where DEX as their main trading platform. I hope to see again soon the wide usage of DEX trading.

I used to use DEXes like the Waves DEX and Etherdelta back when I was bounty hunting and trading altcoins actively and some coins were only listed on either Etherdelta or other smaller decentralized exchanges, but I also encountered low liquidity and thin books on most of the ones I did use back then, and I suspect those issues still remain on decentralized exchanges since I don't see much discussion on them at all anywhere.

I suspect DEX usage will probably become more commonplace as governments tighten regulations on cryptocurrencies and potentially start issuing more strict KYC requirements to exchanges, but they'll probably remain low-key for now.

I stick with Bisq and its governance model currently. It totally fits my needs and it's all I ask for. It isn't a 'hybrid' DEX like some who claim to be. I've never heard of Blocknet and I don't know what do you call "a lot advertised here in the forum" but I've never seen it mentioned (I don't visit the Altcoins forum btw.)

I just would like to see more people using DEXs but I guess it won't happen until they realize what "taxes" mean? Grin

I used etherdelta and IDEX before, but seems that their trading volume is really small to zero now. I haven't checked this BlockNet but I am seeing a lot here in the forum being advertised by users thru posts. Is there some kind of hype going on? Are they really users of that dex or part of the blocknet dex team and just want to promote?
