Hey all.  Im thinking about trading altcoins and read that bittrex is the best site to do this on.  If i do this, i would be buying coins and then selling it when the price hits a certain amount.  Of course if it drops, i would hold on to it until it goes back up... or it may not go back up etc.

Is there a way to do this with a simulation program with fake money?  For example like imagine i send 10000 worth of usd or bitcoin to bittrex.  Then i could trade btc for another coin and trade etc.  Let say i go and buy 10 ETH at 300.  I would like to know the total fees when buying ETH... then selling it when say it hits 350 and i sell all 10 etc.  Thus i know it would be 500 profit.  But how much in fees will there will it cost each time doing a trade?  Is it flat 0.0025 percent each time?   The other thing is how do you trade for altcoins where you cannot go from an altcoin to usd?  For example, you cannot trade a coin like steem for usd directly.  So does that mean you need to go from btc to steem.  Then if you want usd... you need to go from steem to btc to usd.  Thus you have to pay 2 fees of 0.0025 percent each?  the thing that confuses me is say you want to buy steem at 1 dollar.  say the price is 1.05 right now.  Well how do you do this when you cannot buy steem at 1 dollar since you cannot buy many altcoins with dollars right?  Thus you would need to know the actual btc in 1 dollar every single time?  Now what if you want to do a buy or sell order.  Like you want to do a buy order of steem when it hits 1 dollar.  Well how can you do this when you cannot buy it with dollars.  You have to buy it with bitcoin.  So you need to convert 1 usd to btc?  Then once you do that... say you want to buy 1000 shares of steem at 1 dollar.. you put 1000 shares at 0.xxxxxxxxxxx btc?  However the issue with this is bitcoin prices changes a lot.  So that 0.xxxxxxxxx btc which is 1 dollar might only be worth 0.92.  Then what happens here?

I know you can say... well you could do this by just making a spreadsheet on this and do it manually.  However is there a trading simulation where you could use where its not real money and you trade crytocurrencies?  Thus after each buy and sell, it show you how much money you have?  The other thing is how much money does it cost for you to withdraw that money from bittrex to your bank account?

WELL this is much big question, i was fearing how to quote this one,  Lol just kidding  Grin

OK so your problem is you want to have Cryptotrading  DEMO account right ...dont worry i am here i will solve it
you just need to go to www.avatrade.com and just register there your details and email id for demo account registration. After filling out all the details correctly you will be given a user id ,password, and server id just save those all the things in a notepad for use. now download the Metatrader 4 platform from their site and install it ( dont worry no need to worry about virus, software is good to use). Now open the software and just go to
FILE menu -->login to trade account--> then enter the save details here and  Grin enjoy the DEMO trading for free.

watch this image here how it looks http://prntscr.com/giptbg

i will create a thread on this how to setup your cryptocurrency chart in demo account and everything related to creating demo account.
for now this is enough, hope this helps.

I know hitbtc have some sort of demotrading but I'm not sure if it exactly mirrors the realtime markets or not, worth checking out though!

I created an account already on bittrex.  Is it possible for me to simulate trading by looking at the amounts available and then do it but not use real money?

For example, lets pretend i send 2 btc to bittrex so i have around 9270 usd in bittrex.  It shows 4635 as last price of btc on bittrex.  But this doesn't matter since u are not using usd.

Then i would buy say 1000 shares of lisk for example.  Lisk is 0.00158977 btc now on the last price so its 7.36 usd.  So let say i buy 1000 of them.  So that means i pay around 18.40 usd fee so 0.00022 btc fee.  So that means my 2btc balance after buying 1000 shares of lisk would be 2 btc - 1.58977 btc - 0.00022 btc fee = 0.41001 btc right?

Can someone tell me if my math is correct?

Then let say lisk goes up to 0.00218977 btc.  So the price went up from 7.36 usd to 10.14 usd.  Im just curious but do you traders when you look at price.. do you look at the price in terms of usd on coinmarketcap or always at bittrex to see the 0.002 btc amount etc?

Now let i want to sell all the lisk for btc for profit.  So when i sell all 1000 lisk, i would receive around 2.18977 btc - 0.005474225 btc fee = 2.184295775 btc?
Thus now my bittrex btc balance is 2.184295775 + 0.41001 btc = 2.594305775 btc?

So this would be a 0.594305775 btc profit doing this trade which would be around 2754.82 usd profit right?  Can someone here check my math on this if i did all the calculations correctly?

I laugh a little when I see "simulation". Just go ahead and trade start a little. These trading sites UIs are quite intuitive. When you go over trading history you'll see how much fees you have produce from trading. You can use tether to withdraw. You'll see when you actually start.

i think there is not yet trading simulation site but i have seen another one similar like you need and maybe you can try to visit in bitmex.com and in references, in bottom you can found link https://testnet.bitmex.com/ then all you need to do is register and verify your email. after that you can start to trading. once i am trying and i get 0.1 xbt for trading which we can use to learn.

Have not seen one yet. There are some tutorials but simulation not included. Only forex i know providing simulations to train future traders who want to jump on that field. Maybe in the future. Anyway, you can still try altcoin trading with only small amount. The market movement also is not fast. So im sure you won't lose your money in an instant. Buy only with their minimum price. From that, you can study how it works.

There is no common trading platform for crypto, like that could be used for demo trading like MetaTrader for forex.
Exchanges have different API, charts, rules of trade, coin listing and so on. It would be better to choose exchange first and start there with research.

I heard that Investopedia has a stock simulator where you can trade on a virtual stock exchange. There people can learn how the market works and may be develop their own investment strategies

i don't think there is asite that you can create a dummy account to trade altcoins. but what you can do is try playing it with few dollars of about $200. i don't think this amount is too big to play and learn.

its all about buying and selling, if you want to learn you can expirement which to buy and which to sell.

https://testnet.bitmex.com - However its for margin trading coins, no simulation site for shitcoin trading.

Hi there im confused.  So how do you get any btc or any altcoin money to your bank account then?

So let say you have steem and have 1000 of them.  So when you sell steem on bittrex, you only get btc right?  Thus you cannot get usd?  So how would one go about turned 1000 steem to usd to their american bank account?

I haven't seen a trading simulation site, please share if you managed to find one.

There is no option to withdraw USD or fiat to your bank account in Bittrex.
You can withdraw the specific coin from Bittrex and withdrawal fees depends on which coin you are withdrawing.
For BTC, the withdrawal fee is 0.001 BTC regardless of the amount of BTC you are withdrawing.
