Since the ATM spat out your money, you should be fine and you can simply try to buy elsewhere.

I live in what appears to be almost a Crypto free zone. Next nearest ATM is an hour drive away and selling at 7423 and currently charging 12%, usual ATM is listed at 7126 + 8%. I think I've had 4 experiences of ATMs being reported as working when they're not, don't fancy that 1 hour drive!

About the message, woah.. I guess that the area where it stores the cash from customers has filled up. As ATM operator I'd clearly not show such messages. It's crying "steal me"  Grin

This is what I thought, it is now the only ATM in quite a large area, none (working) in Exeter or Plymouth. I prefer to think this rather than the built-in checks that stopped you from purchasing BTC suggested by mocacinno!!

You can indeed contact the ATM operator, maybe they send somebody to collect so you can use it. Their website shows a phone number in the locations area, maybe that helps.
Only phone number I can see is for the pub not the operator

Thanks

mocacinno,

Thanks for the reply, didn't think it was an Electrum issue but didn't know where else to ask.

I think the ATM has recently been taken over by Satoshi as previous operator's website has disappeared and their only other ATM has been has been down for 1 Month and 13 Days.

Have an email for Satoshi so will give that a go.
Thanks

3. ATM can't take anymore cash at present.

AFAIK, electrum doesn't have a limit (well... Theoretically, there'll always be a limit, since electrum is written in python, the maximum value of a float variable is 1.7976931348623157e+308*). ...
Addresses don't have a limit (well... Theoretically, i guess one address can only be funded with a little less than 21.000.000 BTC)...

The only real "limit" is probably imposed by the ATM vendor.
Either his software is buggy, or his ATM is broken, or his ATM software has built-in checks that stopped you from purchasing BTC.

At any rate, this isn't an electrum problem... You'll have to contact the ATM's customer support to get this one sorted out.

Good luck!

Using Electrum 3.3.8.

Tried to purchase BTC at usual ATM. Coinradar said it was working. ATM accepted qr code and identified correct receiving address, touched screen option for up to £500. Inserted £20 which was spat out with screen message TRANSACTION CASH LIMIT EXCEEDED.

ATM operator is Satoshi ATM UK Ltd who offer no phone support.

Fairly new to crypto world so I don't know if the message means;

1. My wallet has exceeded a cash limit.
2. Receiving Address has exceeded a cash limit.
3. ATM can't take anymore cash at present.

If the answer is 1 or 2, I wasn't aware of a wallet or address limit, only what I thought were per transaction limit which according to Coinradar is
£0 - 500 no verification
£501 - 2000 verification via ATM machine/website satoshiuk.co.uk
£2000 and above Full verification of person and funds.

I have deposited in excess of £500 but less than £2000 so far.

If the answer is 3 then surely Coinradar should say it's not working and save me a long drive.

Thanks
Eddy
