I stand with Ukraine!
In crypto, don't trust anyone, any company is the vital rule.

Exchanges can turn from the best to the worst.
Big exchanges can be hacked and can scam their users.
Don't trust nay web wallets, they can scam you.

Moreover, any promise to double funds with a prerequisite to send some amount first is surely a scam. One of the worst scam method, but people still get scammed by that stupid method.

If one is Rich, and want to do give aways, he will open faucets and not required back-and-forth transactions like that.
The most risky thing to do is believe from promises released from online accounts, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Even the real account owners are scammers, they will easily to say something like "My account was hacked. I am sorry for anyone get scammed when I did not have control on this account".

Why is he sending you 3.5 Bitcoin? Did you sell something, or is it just a variant of the Nigerian scam?
It's one of those Youtube airdrop scams that are becoming more and more popular every day.
I read a post somewhere on social media yesterday that there is now a fake John McAfee BTC giveaway where you send John an X amount of Bitcoin and he doubles your amount and adds an additional 50% on top of that.  Roll Eyes
One user said something like: I usually don't fall for tricks like this,, but since it is McAfee, and he is rich, I thought it was legit.  Huh

I found them by the name Bitcoin Makers a youtube channel promoting their script for Blockchain Unconfirmed. I found it fishy for the starts but all comments were very positive... still I had to know. Hihi
If you have 100 gmail account then you may make 100 unique comments, so who care about that comments? I have seen lots of similar script seller on YouTube, even you will found few private keys generator with btc. Why just not think about if they could make money with their script then they need to sell it? It's just a scam attempt, nothing else. Stay away from such as money making script and find some legit way.

Anyway always feel free to share with community if you found such as suspicious activity. So some others will learn and you will get right directions.

I got a Blockchain wallet and and someone sent me 3.5BTC (or tried) and he tells me that I need to atleast have 0.12 BTC.
Anyone, any company which ask you to go first (with whatever amount of money, includes BTC and does not restrict to crypto currency) in order to be 'eligible' to receive payments, transactions, whatsoever, is SCAM.

The scam method is very old one, outdated, but unfortunately there are still people who easily get trapped.
Scammers on Youtube. Don't fall into this scam trap and lose money, guys
Beware: fake XRP airdrop scam currently going on
Quote
In order to be eligible, users must have minimum 2 ETH during the competition period.
< snip >
If you send 1 000 XRP, you will be airdropped 10 000 XRP back.
If you send 2 ETH, you will be airdropped 20 ETH back.

Now, let's move with blockchain.com with their official guides. There is no requirements (in [1] or [2]) to make go-first-transactions from receivers in order to receive bigger amount of BTC.
Receivers only have to give receiving address to senders whilst senders have to have enough funds to send away to that given address. If there is anything senders have to care about, it is choosing Transaction fee:
Read step 6th in [1]: choose either a Regular or Priority fee

Those comments are fake they just made it for marketing purposes so that real visitors will attract to take the offer.
Do you think someone can give you free money if you deposit the amount they need they will run after they receive and you can't withdraw the amount that you see from your blockchain wallet because it is imported with public key which is you don't have control. You can just see the balance but you can't withdraw them even you deposit a big amount or the required amount.

Be careful much better to stay away and move on and don't take their offer there are many scammers right now mostly on facebook, telegram or any social media.

What does mean you got? Does it means someone give you blockchain dot com wallet access and balance showing there? If so, then likely someone want to cheat you. Most likely scammer import some btc address "only watch" mode. And it won't spend without private keys. Even you deposit on that wallet scammer will spent it before you. There is not something like that you need to deposit for withdrawal. It's not ponzi scheme, this a web wallet. Even I will suggest don't use web wallet, follow first reply from above and install electrum and if you want to receive fund use electrum. It's more easy than blockchain but you have full control.

If really someone sent you found and you believe it were failed then check your address on Block Explorer.

Just a reminder: Don't send any funds to a unknown person if you are not fully aware where you sending or don't make any deposit if you don't know the site very well.

Edit;

Just reported to Blockchain support. Its a scam. I wonder why no one reports the Bitcoin Makers from youtube from scamming people.
Can you please share more details? For your info, don't trust all fucking YouTubers. Most of them are scammer. Don't find quick rich method, sure you will be scammed.

Is this normal or am I being fooled?

It's not normal, you are being fooled. You don't need any BTC to receive payments from other people. Also, consider using a different wallet. Blockchain Wallet doesn't really give you full control of your funds. Consider upgrading to Electrum (verify the installation file first).
