You should not be setting fees manually. That is bad advice. You have to follow this guide given below:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19015496
He isn't telling him to set the fees manually... what he is saying is that if you tick the "Edit fees manually" option in "Tools" -> "Preferences" -> "Fees"... you can see the actual total fee amount that will be used for the transaction. It doesn't stop you from using the slider or dynamic fees like you should. It just gives more info.

For some people... being able to see the total fee can be more useful than seeing "0.00588145 BTC/kB" in a tool tip when you use the slider. For instance, they won't get such a big shock when the transaction gets sent with a Dynamic Fee paying 588 sats/byte! Tongue Shocked

Risk of delay and inconvenience, not of losing bitcoin. Your transaction is confirmed now. Remember to update your Electrum wallet to latest build! If you are concerned about any bitcoin still in the wallet, command the wallet to show your seed and write it down, always a good idea before updating.

it is this seetings ok i have changed to dynamic fee because my transaction delays a day or more i have just send another with this settigs but its delaying
which setting i must put to avoid delays, i have done various in past but last 3 delays a lot, previously i have minimum delays but now its one day or more i hope my last transaction dont delays a day but i dont know what i must change?

what settings you choose doesn't matter in delays in confirmation, how much fee you pay matters. and these settings help you handle paying fees easier.

these settings are good. i would say it is a better idea to check "replace by fee" all the time to have an easier time bumping the fees if necessary.
also checking the "Edit fees manually" will show a new textbox in your send tab which helps you see how much fee you are paying in total.
also it is a good idea to click preview before sending to see the final transaction details and then sign and broadcast.

Hello,

I have a transaction of around 4BTC pending for already over 24 hours. It is via Electrum wallet. I'm not very familiar with Bitcoins. Is there somebody who can help me and somehow prioritize my transaction so that it will get processed soon?

After this I will for sure switch to a different wallet because this is already the 2nd time this happened to me.

Would somebody be so kind to help me out this one more time?

And secondly, what wallets are recommended to use for the future?

Are you using the latest Electrum 2.8.2? I have a hard time believing properly set up Electrum would ever send a transaction with a 50 sat/byte fee.

Make sure you are using latest Electrum. If not upgrade. Then under settings enable dynamic fees and replace by fee. When you send a transaction always move the fee slider to high and also check the box marked replaceable. Then if the transaction gets stuck you can click on it and bump the fee up. Don't try to do fees manually, just follow my instructions and you will be fine in the future. I pushed your txid and you should have a confirmation in a few hours. No need to change to a different wallet. Just learn how to use Electrum properly before you put four (!) bitcoin at risk again.

Well to be honest I installed Electrum 1 year and 3 months ago (version 2.5.2 it shows) and never changed or updated it. I always had some BTC in it and was scared that those funds would get lost somehow during an upgrade or so. Still, even with these low set fees my last 5 transactions all went through fairly smoothly within some hours.

Thanks a lot for pushing my transaction up! It's currently still pending but I trust that tomorrow it will be processed.

And what do you mean about putting my BTC at risk? I mean, it would get processed at some point anyway, right? Or there are tricks to reverse the transaction in the worst case I heard. So I would never lose the BTC for real.
Either way, I will follow your advice and when my transaction is processed and my wallet is empty I will upgrade to a newer version of Electrum.

Hello,

Electrum is actually a great wallet and you shouldn't have any problems dealing with it.

Can you please post the transaction TXID to have a better understanding of what did happen?

I'm guessing you've used a low fee and that's why your transaction is 'stuck'.

Yeah, probably it's the fee. But as far as I know the fees are set automatically and I cannot even edit or increase the fee even if I wanted to? Or how can I do that?
Also, I must say that my previous 5 transactions went just fine (processed within minutes) with the same pre-set fee (which was proabably just as low).

Oh yes, that is an extremely low fee.

Yes, you can do that. On Electrum, go to Tools -> Electrum Preferences -> Tick 'Edit Fees Manually'.

A transaction like yours usually shows up as Replaceable and you're able to increase the fee to make it go through.

Okay, I've ticked the box to edit fees manually in the future, but how do I know increase the fee for my still pending transaction?
You may try to send the TXID here http://viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
Just do it after 1 hour.. just follow the forum time and after 11:59 pm send the txid and it will be accepted in viabtc..
It will not fix instantly just wait in few hours to mine the next block..
