What happened to this teansaction then? I'm still lost...
246a81132c472246a62c83e92bf3fdb39579df3a519c1f681fae18cead51dc52

Can't see it anymore.
The transaction  (246a81132) spends inputs from the transaction (5980569c4). Since the inputs related to that transaction (5980569c4) has already been spent in another transaction (d24bd37976), any future transactions connected to transaction (5980569c4) will never confirm.

Since the transaction (246a81132) spends an input from (5980569c4), it is invalid and can never be confirmed. Hence, most of the nodes around the network has removed that transaction from their mempool.

How can we get it confirmed faster then? I'm still lost...
Basically, you can't... As was already explained previously, the parent transaction will NEVER confirm. The inputs for it have been used elsewhere.

Your transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/246a81132c472246a62c83e92bf3fdb39579df3a519c1f681fae18cead51dc52
The UNconfirmed Parent: https://blockchain.info/tx/5980569c459ed24eaa5fde4f72b41f5fbe6f68c2cdade8fb5d92234393e3235a
The CONFIRMED Transaction that already spending inputs used in UNconfirmed parent: https://blockchain.info/tx/d24bd37976b290a0588b04e99810368bd1775c3f8e66d05441e26a7a6c4e4887

Seems the original sender did a RBF (replace-by-fee) which replaced the UNconfirmed parent... effectively a "double spend". Because of this d24bd37976b290a0588b04e99810368bd1775c3f8e66d05441e26a7a6c4e4887 transaction being confirmed, the output that was used in your transaction no longer exists... and can never exist.

This basically renders your Transaction invalid and all child transactions invalid.

The receipient of the transaction says he's not able to use the money I sent
This is correct if the parents have been spent elsewhere.

How can I stop it from using an unconfirmed input?
I don't know how to do this in blockchain.info.

You (your wallet) used the unconfirmed input for a new transaction. That unconfirmed input got double spend in another transaction, and that transaction got confirmed over a month ago.
The input you're still trying to use, doesn't exist anymore: it's used already! Your wallet should forget about this transaction, it's impossible to ever confirm.

You can prevent this from happening by never using an unconfirmed input from an external source as input for your own transactions.

It was blockchain.info wallet. The receipient of the transaction says he's not able to use the money I sent (246a81132c472246a62c83e92bf3fdb39579df3a519c1f681fae18cead51dc52).

Can you explain how is this trade connected to that one?
https://blockchain.info/tx/246a81132c472246a62c83e92bf3fdb39579df3a519c1f681fae18cead51dc52

They're both unconfirmed in the wallet for over a month.

They're both unconfirmed in the wallet for over a month.

I can't use part of the money because of that. Getting an error:

The transaction you made was an opt-in RBF, and was indeed double spent by this transaction:
https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/d24bd37976b290a0588b04e99810368bd1775c3f8e66d05441e26a7a6c4e4887

Same inputs, same addresses outputs, just different fee. Miners picked up the second tx as it had a higher fee.

Show this transaction to the seller, he still got the coins, confirmed on 15th December, some of which is already spent onwards in fact.

The earlier transaction cannot ever be confirmed, and therefore is seen as invalid.

This is awesome information thank you for explaining it in more detail and as soon as I read it I remember doing just that. I started with a low fee and increase it since it had no confirmed.

I bought something from a User on here last month. Today he asked me to look into the transaction since he says it is still unconfirmed. As seen here https://blockchain.info/tx/5980569c459ed24eaa5fde4f72b41f5fbe6f68c2cdade8fb5d92234393e3235a

When I put the same TX ID into Blocktrail it says it is a double spend. As seen here https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/5980569c459ed24eaa5fde4f72b41f5fbe6f68c2cdade8fb5d92234393e3235a

Could some one that understands transactions better than me enlighten me as to whats going on here and if I need to pay this guy again.

I reloaded my electrum wallet and imported my wallet from my seed recently and I don't even see the transaction in my wallet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yep it was. And thank you also for the information. So glad some one could figure out what was going on.

Thanks every one for the help!!

It seems like you used RBF a day after the transaction, and that transaction got confirmed.

5980569c459ed24eaa5fde4f72b41f5fbe6f68c2cdade8fb5d92234393e3235a won't ever confirm: the inputs have been spent already. They were spent in d24bd37976b290a0588b04e99810368bd1775c3f8e66d05441e26a7a6c4e4887, which sends the same amount of 0.005535 BTC to 1CpZAH8y9fcXjexc1ecFhjn5i9XEviK5td. I assume 1CpZAH8y9fcXjexc1ecFhjn5i9XEviK5td was the address you had to pay to, and the seller has spent the funds already.

That makes sense: the transaction can't confirm and should be dropped from mempool.
If 1CpZAH8y9fcXjexc1ecFhjn5i9XEviK5td is the seller's address, he has been paid.

This is transaction with low fee, so it is probably stuck. You can use free accelerator like viabtc, some guys here say it can help.  Cheesy

https://viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

Already tried that says the transaction is invalid.
