For the last couple of years every now and then the RPC chain gets "stuck" - as can be seen on the blockexplorer at this very moment, it's not moving: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/rpc/#

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any fix/tricks/tips/anything to keep the chain moving steadily along. Would more scrypt miners help stabilize the the chain?

Here is the original thread for the specs: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/error-389070

I am thinking that most likely the block explorer loses its connection to the nodes and it doesn't update.

If that is not the issue then most likely its due to lack of miners if the coin has actually no market value.

There are a few ways of fixing this but one way would be to just mine it from the last known confirmed block and see if the chain re-orgs to the correct block number.

There might be a few people who are solo mining this coin and a 51% is possible but its most likely not on purpose but due to lack of nodes and lack of block explorers showing the correct block number.
