linuxcoin will redo this file on boot, which in turn loads the drivers for the cards.  whenever change any configuration of gpus, delete this file and shutdown, then on reboot linuxcoin will reinstall all drivers for all gpus.

Code:
sudo rm  /etc/X11/xorg.conf

whenever i have a problem with linuxcoin.  I format the stick and put a fresh install on it.

boot..  sometimes i have to boot twice..  or after booting remove the xorg file and boot again.  if you cant mine on all 4 after this, it is something else, like psu or do you have molex connectors?

Review the xorg.config file, also try using another boot medium, LiveCD, another Flash/hard drive with fresh install.
Have you been running 4 cards all along or did you just add in some new cards?

I wonder if you can check the slots for continuity?

Try starting the linux kernel with the nomodeset option added to the options.  You'll have to figure out how to change it.  I think either catching it before boot and pressing escape and then pressing e to edit the line...Eh, it could do the trick.  I used to have my Samsung TV turn itself on and off from a problem with modeset.  Funny thing is, the TV didn't officially have such an option.  Odd stuff.

I havent been able to run Linuxcoin with 4 5970's. Its mines great with 3 cards installed but put the fourth card in and it stops displaying after the splash screen. Ive also tried BAMT with the same issue.

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 and it runs well with four cards but I have been unable to successfully install the Catalyst drivers for this OS.

If anyone has any idea what might be causing the boot problems with Linuxcoin and BAMT or has ideas for a workaround please let me know.

Thanks.
