These ID verifications can be fussy. I'd suggest you just keep trying - make sure the lighting is perfect, and straight on with no shadows, and nothing cutting off part of the image (e.g. your finger). Spend some time on it and it will pass. Borrow a camera if you have to.

I think they are overloaded and understaffed.
I think they're utter morons.  They're pulling in 1.5% fees on each trade, and they still can't have a functional support team.

What sort of company with several million customers doesn't even have a phone line?  There are even people who've complained about no response after they get their account hacked.

I'm 99% sure they're not a scam, but they should be replacing the "wallet services" section on their website with "dysfunctional exchange".

The company is not a scam. I have used them for many years and they are secure and generally fair (except with. The bitcoin cash thing) which they promised to retify. I do a agree their customer service isn’t so great. I think they are overloaded and understaffed. They need to fix this problem but I think they are backed up. If we make a bit of noise here, I hope they will help you out. With an issue I had, I emailed them and support did get back to me. I wish you luck.

I see mostly good things here about Coinbase but I setup my account about three weeks ago and I bought about a thousand dollars worth of Bitcoin, Etereum, and Litecooin and I am still unable to get the coin off their site and into my own wallet. I can't pass the ID verification where you are supposed to upload a picture of both the front and the back (very suspicious if you ask me why the back?) of your drivers license. I uploaded a perfectly scanned and cropped image of both sides of my NY Stae drivers lic. but it fails the supposed program every time. It accepts both jpg and png so I tried both and I even went to dmv and got a new license (mine was an older license so I thought maybe that was the problem). I emailed support after being shocked to find they have a chat bot for support (no live chat) and I actually got a response saying I should try the cell phone option (I don't have a smart phone just a cheap obama phone) but to me that sounds ridiculous since the program couldn't OCR from a perfectly scanned and cropped image so how in the world can it possible do it from a cell phone photo of the same ID? They don't have any info on how big the image should be or what resolution but I am a IT guy been at this almost 30 years now so I know my images were not too big or anything out of the ordinary., They have no phone number for support (How can a site that deals in all this money not have a live person for support anywhere?)I did a whois to find a number. I did but that number is disconnected (surprise surprise) but a recording gave me another number (starting to feel like a real detective at this point) and I called that number and got a recording saying all agents were busy and to dial one if I wanted to report my account being hacked (does being hacked by them count?) otherwise stay on the line... after burning up 20 minutes of cell time I hung up and tried option 1 and again I waited 20 minutes and nobody picked up. I doubt anyone ever will. I will try again tomorrow but I think it's a waste of my time. My highly developed detectives instinct (and 25 years living in NYC) tell me that this company is a scam. I also don't think the ID thing is right, they could make anyone's ID and take their credit card info too hell and sell all this on the dark web and nobody would be the wiser until this guy is living the pura vida in Costa Rica Adios!
