He is talking directly about Venezuela's Crypto-Currency, not Bitcoin and Crypto-Currency in general. The Venezuela's thieves are trying to keep on the country's command and they found in Crypto-Currency a way to get some breath to continue ruling the nation, while allying themselves to other nations "secretly". Indeed no one should deal with this Petro currency, otherwise they will be dealing with criminals (dictators, drug dealers and assassins).

He's being described as the worst president in the history of the United States. Sooner or later he'll fuck up so majorly that they'll impeach him, you'll see.
It should be noted that Venezuela is asking for sanction with their centralized cryptocurrency. Their crypto has not much to do with the rest of the crypto world. It's an imitation that shouldn't be taken seriously.
The worst president was George Washington: fuck the so called "United States of America".

I love technology.
The most recent development is that Russia has secretly helped Venezuela launch a cryptocurrency to evade U.S. sanctions.

"President Donald Trump may not have realized on Monday that his executive order would step on Russia’s toes. Its official target was Venezuela, specifically the country’s plan to create the world’s first state-backed cryptocurrency, the petro, which went on sale Tuesday."

It would be interesting to see if this was the plan all along or if it just Russia backing ways to create money for itself and it's allies.

Most American people have no idea of what's going on in Venezuela and they don't care. They also have no idea what crypto is.
The ones who do know also know that Trump has a two digits Iq.
So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Trump has more haters than supporters so I don't mind his negative thoughts on cryptos.
I am very certain that if Trump has any plan of banning bitcoins and cryptocurrencies, he would have done it by now. and most of the things he does is politically motivated and he banning bitcoins is not a political move to hurt anyone at all.

Recently in the news, Trump is bringing national attention to crypto. That sounds good right? No.

He's talking about how Venezuela is trying to bypass economic regulations with their petro crypto. Now he wants to impose sanctions.

Whenever Trump rallies for or against something, it's usually bad for that subject. His supporters are loyal, but some can be fanatics, they'll go on social media blasting whatever he's talking about.

Now the subject Trump is aiming is crypto. Hopefully people won't care too much, but it's just bad press. If people do care, they'll start blabbing about all the bad rep crypto has, like the exit scams, Pumps and Dumps, and the "loose" regulation. Kinda unfair but that's what we're getting...

Though many hate Trump since many have considered him dumb, but you know Trump is one of the worlds genius and it is just that his line of thinking is different to every one of us. That kind of mentality have caused him to make billions. Trump is not dump but the oppositions have paid the media to destroy his image making him an idiot and stupid in front of everyone.

The idea of a blockchain technology could be use to free America from the control of the Federal Reserve (A private entity controlling the production and Circulation of US Dollars) . Thus if we look carefully blockchain technology is the new version of that Revolution by the WHite House and the United States to free itself and grab its power that was taken by the people in the Federal Reserve.

Trump on the other hand has studied cryptocurrency and we do not know if he in his right mind would take the risk of creating one and free America from the US Dollars and from the control and slavery of the Federal Reserve. I am sure that if he is willing to make such risk will suffer an assasination attempt and more attack from the media.

I don't think even US citizens take Trump seriously. Though Petro and a lot of Russian ICOs are directed towards evading sanctions and getting US and European investment to the respective nation and there's nearly nothing US authorities can do about it.

Trump is the leader of a strong country and naturally his statements will affect the market. But here is what final strategy he chooses, we will see it in the future. Vocational statements affect the market, but it is tolerable, but when it begins to apply its words to life, then it will be bad.

Frankly, I did not take Trump serious.  Because, he is one of a kind and he has some lunatic ideas over every subject. That's why, people who have been investing in cryptocurrencies should not take his views serious.

Let's see how this plays out. But damn, if trump really is serious about this then i think we should really think about opposing it. I mean we haven't had the right information yet andd we are not sure about what will trump do to crytpo currency per se. I think it would lean towards regulation and taxation. I mean i don't think the government is actually earning from crypto currency so they would really want a slice of the pie i guess. Let's feel the ground about this and be alert.
