Trump winning the election is a win for the crypto market because this is going to influence the crypto market more than what we are seeing now. The price of Bitcoin has been mowing bullishly quicky and now the price is at $80k plus looking the price to hit $100K within some days or weeks. Since the Republican has more than 50% of the c, then there is probability that it will ease things for Trump making it easy for Trump to pass bills that will favour the whole American people. This is just like the beginning of things and soon we might have to see the price of Bitcoin exceeding 100K maybe before or after Trump's inauguration.

The influence is already happening because if you look at the price of bitcoin it keeps making a new ATH and now bitcoin is in 82k this was something that was expected because there was positivity in the air before Trump won the election and there were already statements every was that if trump should get in power then there will be run in the market and these opportunities that people take over the market.

We don't even know the next price that bitcoin will stop and this is the best moment for those who have been holding because by now they would have made a lot of profit the thing is now that a lot of people must have sold theirs early when it comes to something like this you have to put the necessary things place like limit and the rest, and I saw a prediction of 150k and it might be possible because if you look at the way things are going 100k might be certain.

I think the promise that Trump made before the election is going to be true. The Bitcoin market has been moving forward since Trump won the election. Let's hope that the price of Bitcoin will be better and that all the promises made by Trump about the crypto market will develop nicely.

Bitcoin price is currently over 80k$ expected to surpass 100k$ in next few days. But new ATH is being created every moment which is great to see. Those who have been investing in BTC for a long time now are expected to be in for a good time.

It means that he is a winner Cheesy and he will now run the country. With all those things that Trump did, it finally paid off. He deserve what we have now. I didn't know that someone in SEC can also gets replaced when there is a newly elected president. I thought it was only those people who are on the government are the ones that gets replaced.

It is still a good thing if those that are on their previous positions are not doing well. Trump is not new in this game, so should have gathered people already that he will use as a replacement to those that he will fire. If there will be less restriction, I think that will only be applied on the US where Trump is assigned. I will still be happy for the people there.

For us, we can only benefit on the rise of the BTC's price, which is still a good thing. Those countries who hold BTC, knows the advantage of it already and this is the reason why they hold it. For those who didn't, I think they are too prideful and think they are already doing well and will continue to do well even without the help of Bitcoin.

A less BTC tax sounds good but it would be great if he can just removed it totally, lol. BTC is supposed to be decentralized anyway, so it's only fine for it to get exempted when it comes to taxation. On your question last question, obviously on the moon Wink.

Congress is almost completely red. So of course they are going to do whatever Trump wants them to do and pump whatever laws and regulations (or lack thereof) that he wants in place. Includes replacing SEC head if they find some ancient provision that lets them get away with it.

Yes, Congress can change the law I suppose--and Trump could simply ignore the law, although I suspect this isn't a hill he's going to want to die on right now.

The US Congress is nearly 50/50, with the Senate now having a slight majority for Republicans. The House still might be majority Democrat when all of the votes are counted in the coming weeks.

Of course, these things can only happen if Mr. President actually follows through his words but if he does do the things he has said,

Like I'm still thinking what more do we want trump to do for bitcoin? Because all I can see that bitcoin is doing very well and it will still do better in the future. If bitcoin was struggling to grow and now Donald trump has won the presidential seat then I'll say this should be a reason why people must be very excited for trump to play a good impact, but the truth is that bitcoin has been doing very well. I know trump might have made so many promises during his campaign time but we shouldn't take what politicians say too serious because they are humans who say nice things just to get whatever they want.
Many countries and states are still not in full support of cryptocurrency and that is what's meant with people's hopes towards Trump's Presidency given that he's known as a pro-crypto politician. There's still a lot of room for improvements in this technology which could be resolved by mass adoption and that doesn't only concern its market price.
where do you see bitcoin, specifically in the US, 4 years from now?[/b]

I see it with wider adoption, especially institutional, as something as normal in people's daily lives as a mutual fund (not everyone has but almost everyone has an idea of what it is), far removed from Satoshi's initial idea of being a P2P cash, and with a price tag quite a bit higher than now, which I dare not venture.
Most likely to happen if things would be aligned to what Trump have promised. Some people may question how would a single individual accommodate all of these expectations and if that's so, we should keep in mind how influential U.S is as a country. Actions related to this industry will most likely trigger a domino effect. However, this is just the beginning and we will eventually see how things will go for this industry. More businesses are now starting to get themselves involved with blockchain technology which is already something to look forward with, in the future. Trump will not make all of his platforms directly to this industry, but only knowing he supports it, is already a big thing for this technology.

But here's a shower thought though. Would Bitcoin would have surged to new ATH if Trump won or if Harris won?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe that there will be many Harris supporters, who also are Bitcoin HODLers, that would NEVER admit that Trump has given the community a sort of excitement and optimism for Bitcoin.

It's not a disapproval on Harris. I'm merely saying that under Harris, everything might look as though everything will stay the same.

What kind of optimism are we talking about? What has Trump proposed regarding crypto? Nothing useful at the moment and most likely it will remain that way, if not worse.

How did it happen that a criminal seized power in the country? There is no other way to describe it. Americans will face an unenviable future in the next 4 years if Trump is not impeached. A criminal should be in prison, not running a country. What happened to the American people?

Perhaps it's not mainly about optimism, but it's probably also about the changes Trump could possible bring in crypto?

Plus let's not get into Ad Hominem attacks that doesn't actually address the context of the shower thought. It's not about politics. I'm merely asking about the market's reaction after Trump won and if it could have the same reaction if Harris won.

      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Because if that's your debate, then why are the crypto markets more optimistic with a "criminal"? Aren't the markets supposed to crash?

It is true that Trump has not made any proposals or policies that are favorable to cryptocurrencies because he is not yet the official president. But at least he brought new hope to the market and that is why the market rallied after the news of his victory. Are you excited to see bitcoin price increase by more than $5k in just one day?

Are you American? Otherwise, you don't need to worry about Americans, they are smart enough to know what they are doing without anyone teaching them what to do. The US Constitution, law enforcement agencies, and even Congress have never mentioned or condemned anything about Trump. But it is strange that ordinary citizens like us, who know nothing about the US constitution, have the right to call others criminals. If you think he deserves to go to jail, file a lawsuit in the supreme court instead of complaining here because no one cares about that.

Shoot man in 4 years time I can see Bitcoin being taught in schools much earlier and teaching our youth about it. I can see state owned mining operations & federal mining operations as well as government bitcoin devs you know Elon is going to be over all that. We will go all in on buying up as much BTC as we want, hopefully getting as much if not more as the major financial elites I could even see the US becoming one of the largest if not the largest holder of Bitcoin in the world - Besides Satoshi himself that is Cheesy

It is one thing for people to make promises and another thing to keep to their promises. The bitcoin community and lovers of Blockchain have done their part in voting him, let's just be hopeful that he will do as he has promised. But if Trump implement everything he said during his campaign, I think bitcoin will be over $200k in the next 4 years. But it is very important that we keep our expectations low, so that we don't get psychological or emotional problems if it turns out that Trump don't as he has promised.

I know trump might have made so many promises during his campaign time but we shouldn't take what politicians say too serious because they are humans who say nice things just to get whatever they want.
Not because they are human because not everyone is as bad as them, there will be people who keep their promises and will try to fulfill their promises. But unfortunately, we are talking about politicians, and the nature of politicians is that most of them spend most of their time lying to achieve their own goals.

Indeed, right after Trump was elected, I saw quite a few threads, quite a few questions about whether Trump would keep his promises and do what he promised. I think people are too naive and put too much faith in politicians, and that's not good for us. We should know that they cannot and will never fulfill all their promises. What we should expect is that they will do one of them or they will not be so hostile to bitcoin, that is enough for us.

As for the SEC, i don’t know exactly how the bureaucracy in this country works, but it seems like Donald Trump can’t fire Gary Gensler without cause. Fortunately, there is an analysis says that SEC chairman usually change with the president-elect [1].

[1] https://decrypt.co/290387/sec-chairman-gary-gensler-likely-resign-analyst

His term is 5 years, ending on June 5, 2026, so Trump can't fire him directly. But if he doesn't have the president's support, he might just retire. Even though they’re an independent body, we know how politics works. Pro-Bitcoin folks might not like Trump if he doesn’t push for Gensler to step down.

We can't fully trust politicians, what they say could be just promises before they were elected. The same goes for Donald Trump, when the bitcoin conference took place, he seemed pro-community, his goal was only to increase his electability among crypto players. Now that Trump has been officially elected as the next president, it is futile to believe his promises or not, as we can only wait and see whether he will fulfill the wishes of the community or not.

So everyone's already forgotten about his promise to free Ross, eh?

Poor guy. Man must hate his status of being used as a political pawn while not seeing any real freedom.
There are many promises on the list that Trump has to fulfill including some related to the future of Bitcoin and other promises like releasing Ulbricht but let's see which of the promises he actually fulfills. So taking a neutral stance until all of them are fulfilled is a good choice.

Like I said, Trump will most likely appoint someone from his own party preferably someone in his inner circle already. If he could elect Elon Musk as the new chair, he might just do that. Who knows? But I know that Trump will never put someone against crypto if he is really serious about his plans with it. Without SEC breathing down exchanges and wallets' necks, there will certainly be more interest in crypto since investors/traders will not fear against laws anymore.
Trump could never appoint someone like Elon Musk because Elon lacks experience in public service and isn’t well-versed in securities laws or finance. The role needs someone who’s a lawyer, accountant, or has a background in finance. Plus, even if Elon were qualified, he wouldn’t waste his time as SEC chair as he's got bigger things to do, like preparing Mars for us.

A number of great hopes buried by large investors began to be seen when Trump's figure campaigned Bitcoin.
Large investors and small investors including all parties who have bitcoin do not want things that make them have difficulty with their Bitcoin.
Maybe all this time the SEC is not so preferred because one and many things, so with a discourse there will be a change of SEC Chairperson will make many parties get convenience related to Bitcoin.

I have learned never to expect much from people because you might be disappointed. I have confidence in the four-year circle of Bitcoin and I am sure that there will always be a bear run and bull run regardless of who becomes the US president. I don't expect anything from Donald Trump but if his policies turn out to be good for Bitcoin, it will be good for investors.

Great set of mind.
Expectations set too high result in sorrows in disappointment in the end.
It's either nothing or something much better than nothing in the perspective - so we shouldn't worry.

I can bet that after Trump has finally won, looking back at some of his promises will surprise him that he did actually made all those promises. Overtime, we've learnt to understand that most of the things politicians say during campaign are desperate speeches that's all about getting the vote that will see them elected into office. When it comes down to doing all or most of the things they've promised, it's usually a totally different thing.

Good thing is that at the present, Bitcoin is pumping and that's at least what we're sure of. 4 years from now is a very long time and whatever speculation anyone makes on where Bitcoin will get to both in the United state or globally at this time that trump hasn't been sworn in and his yet to start his administration is mere emotional wish.

Trump talked about a lot in the election race. Let's see how he will implement his communications, but it is very likely that it will remain just words. In his previous term, things were exactly the same. I did not see any particularly important matters that he spoke about in front of the whole country. This time, I do not rule out that populism will also win.

We are witnessing an uptrend already since his victory but that's just a manipulation. Some of us are still not familiar with politicians game up to now. None of them care about you and your bitcoin but they care about their own interest. Trump capitalize on crypto using it as a campaign strategy just to secure votes and the media helped him to achieve that. I fear many will be disappointed for believing in every of their campaign promises. Let see what happens after inauguration but I must advise to keep expectations very low because changing their words is as easy as changing a television channel.

I think I need to ignore words like Trump for the coming months. All the predictions and topics seem to be more emotional than real analysis.

First, Gary Gensler has not been fired and even if Trump wanted to, the process would not be quick, especially since his term ends in 2025, so we cannot discuss an alternative.

Bitcoin will not be a US reserve (at least for now.)
I don't see any reason to discuss this topic either. When Trump takes the place of the president, that is, when his inauguration takes place, then we can consider this whole matter. Wedt he will have full power after that, but now we can make assumptions and nothing more. Why dive into this abyss without any facts? Solid speculation. Maybe we will start making bets on this event? ))

Well first thing we notice is Bitcoin reached its new ATH. But we cannot conclude yet what's possible next thing to happen especially Trump didn't create a law that can boost the popularity and demand of bitcoin.

So let see if Trump would ever mentioned bitcoin at earliest days of his Presidency since provably that we can say something that bitcoin would provably get a great boost this year. But things seems doing alright as many people project positive outcome with bitcoin on Trumps term so hopefully we can see more better figures.

Holders also El Salvador government is so lucky for believing bitcoin will have a great future since right now they already see that future is bright with bitcoin and for sure they are earning huge figures with it now and more in future.

Great to see Trump back and promising crypto love, but a balanced view would want to take a peek into what would most likely happen. He could remove the SEC Chair Gary Gensler, but his replacement probably will not go easy on crypto. The enforcement action taken by the SEC under Trump will not disappear completely either. Past chairs have pursued fraud prevention in crypto spaces rather aggressively.

A national bitcoin reserve, however, is still a big "if." Some experts say such a reserve could still go through some significant legislative and economic obstacles, considering concerns over the volatility of the digital currency. Although Trump's team may see grounds for that, policies on the dollar and the national debt make it a complex move, added to the fact that Congress would be playing the major role in any such decision as well. While the rhetoric of those who are pro-crypto is high, it's a long way from promises to practice, especially if traditional financial stakeholders push back.

The market related to Bitcoin may be strong in the next four years and there is potential for more profits for investors, but Bitcoin is a volatile asset, so you should make investment decisions based on the situation.

it's surely to say that the chairman of the SEC will be replaced. In contrast Biden has been vocal about crypto and some companies while Trump has vowed to make the United States the world's Bitcoin superpower. He also threatened to fire SEC chief Gary Gensler.
Now we have to wait to see who will be the next SEC chief who will contribute to the market as crypto friendly.

SEC Chair

As I understand it, by law Trump cannot replace the SEC chair for a few more years. When that happens, the net effect will probably still be small since most of that job is determined by Congress.

Congress is almost completely red. So of course they are going to do whatever Trump wants them to do and pump whatever laws and regulations (or lack thereof) that he wants in place. Includes replacing SEC head if they find some ancient provision that lets them get away with it.
Is that so? I thought that US SEC chair is being nominated by the US President, so it's up to Trump on who he wants to nominate.

But it is still not an assurance as it will have to go to the Senate for confirmation. So there will be hearings and questions on the nominee and see if he or she is fit to be the next US chairman. I'm not sure though if GOP has control of the Senate for now because if they have, then it's going to be smooth sailing as the nominee could easily pass as the President and his party has fully control of the Senate.

After months of Trump promising various things and getting involved with crypto, even as far as getting endorsed by Elon musk himself who is also a popular name within the crypto realm, He has now won so let us talk what could happen in the next 4 years with Trump as president.
One thing is for sure, Trump has won the election and soon he will be inaugurated as president-elect for the next term. Regarding all the promises he made during the campaign, they are all still grey. Most of the promises from politicians are not credible, they only use the hype around their lives to achieve their goals.
If Trump wants to realize his promises, he must start with economic policies and deregulation, which must also go hand in hand with contributing to investment media that can indirectly benefit Bitcoin. Hopefully, the administration's policies during Trump leadership will be a new era for Bitcoin that can be fully integrated into the current financial system.

I would call him a wild card for the time being and overall, due to him being like a punch in the gut you never expect  Grin Who knows what will happen in the near future, but it sure will be interesting to see how things turn out. It sure will be quicker than we expect, in my opinion..

After months of Trump promising various things and getting involved with crypto, even as far as getting endorsed by Elon musk himself who is also a popular name within the crypto realm, He has now won so let us talk what could happen in the next 4 years with Trump as president.

  • SEC Chair
First of all, it is guaranteed that the SEC chair will be replaced by a new one. Trump has said that he will fire Gary Gensler if elected. The question now would be, who would replace him? Surely the SEC chair that will replace Gensler is someone who has the same plans for bitcoin and crypto as Trump. We will definitely see less restrictions within the crypto market which would lead to more innovations.
  • Bitcoin Reserve
Trump hopes to make bitcoin as the country's reserve and treat it like a national gold reserve. If this were to happen, countries that are already holding bitcoin will find themselves at an advantage while countries without bitcoin might scramble to keep up.
  • Taxes
Bitcoin or crypto transactions will be taxed less. This can definitely boost more interest in crypto especially in the US. Trump hopes to make the US as a bitcoin capital and gaining interest from other countries due to their bitcoin friendly policies could lead to that.

Of course, these things can only happen if Mr. President actually follows through his words but if he does do the things he has said,

where do you see bitcoin, specifically in the US, 4 years from now?

Of the points you listed, I am most interested in two of them, and the first is, of course, the dismissal of Gensler, who has already become quite annoying to the entire crypto industry. I think that since Trump was initially very loyal to crypto, he will be able to keep some of his promises and, of course, the dismissal of Gensler will be one of the most visible, if this does not happen, then it will be clear how much Trump is determined to change something.

And the second is the assignment of bitcoin to the status of a reserve for the United States, this would also be an excellent signal for other countries, even those that were previously not so loyal to bitcoin, as a result, this can lead to a very positive attitude towards bitcoin. But for now we need to wait some time, Trump will have a lot of responsibilities and it will take a little time until he gets to some issues.

Politicians stay politicians after all.
But - the overall mood and the composition of power is the most pro-crypto ever, as I've heard.
So maybe, everything will be great as we imagine it now.

We surely don't need to speculate for much longer, it's good that he has won the election, so it's time to do the talk. It's said that politicians are not to be trusted that they can promise anything to increase their votes to win, whether trump, will fall into this category again will be known as his agenda unfolds. Regarding Bitcoin increasing adoption, I don't think that anything can stop it now, it'll be on record that Donald Trump, leveraged on Bitcoin popularity to get votes. So even if he doesn't give Bitcoin the attention that it deserves, the American people will know that Bitcoin has made a name for it's as a store of value. But I want to be quite positive about Bitcoin in the Trump, administration.

- Free Ross Ulbricht
That's the pre-election promise by Trump that I actually want to see fulfilled, merely to see if he is such a person who holds true to his words.

Plus looking at the situation from another viewpoint, although Ross Ulbrict is a convict, he's also a pioneer in what applications could be done through Bitcoin.

Politicians make many promises in their election campaigns. Only a few of those promises are fulfilled, and the rest are ignored. As far as I understand, Project 2025 is his priority, for which he will be hiring Elon Musk. Next, he might reduce the tax burden on the citizens. That policy might also reduce the tax on Bitcoin. As of now, the Bitcoin price shows that his win will bring many positive changes in the crypto sphere.

It’s pretty much a given. Any new president will replace officials not on their side, especially appointees. But what will the new SEC chair do for Bitcoin? As far as I know, Gary Gensler was known for saying Bitcoin will never be a currency. So, could the new chair help push Bitcoin to be recognized as a currency rather than just property in the US?

Expecting the US to promote bitcoin as a currency is a very high expectation and I don't think that will happen in any way. The United States dominates the world by forcing every country to use and depend on the US dollar. If they legalize a currency that they do not control, it will negatively impact the dominance of the USD and that means it will directly threaten their power.
-snip-

What do you think about Trump saying BTC becoming "US made"?

Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular around the world but we can easily see that governments tend to accept it as an asset, no country wants to turn it into currency and use it to replace its own currency. Only countries without their own currency think of legalizing bitcoin as legal tender but most of these countries are small countries.

With Trump being elected and maybe his administration will be more friendly to bitcoin but don't forget that governments are centralized entities and they will put their own interests first, they don't like decentralization so we should have realistic expectations.

Only time will tell.
However, just like as everything else on the market - the expectations shouldn't be too high.
Otherwise, it can backfire.

I would hope so but it will be a long process and certainly not something that can be done over night. Many projects and policies would need to be passed during Trump's term for bitcoin to be recognized as an official currency.

Bitcoin has been here since 2009, and it's one and a half of decade, which is long enough. Bitcoin will continue to be here, and even grow up its adoption more. Bitcoin lifespan in my opinion will be longer than one or two Presidential terms that equal to 4 or 8 years. Trump will be allowed to be President of USA for only 4 more years, and effects from his policies on Bitcoin will be only one of many contributions from many people in Bitcoin history.

If he brings good policies to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry next four years, it's good but if he won't, other people will do it later years. The world doesn't stop spinning and Bitcoin won't die any year between 2024 and 2028.

People need to understand that in any market cycle, with bullish and bearish years, there will be a lot of fud in this market. Trump won't be able to prevent all fud to appear next four years.

SEC Chair

As I understand it, by law Trump cannot replace the SEC chair for a few more years. When that happens, the net effect will probably still be small since most of that job is determined by Congress.

Quote
Bitcoin Reserve

This is not going to happen. It's simply ridiculous. And besides, how many people here would like the price of Bitcoin to be at the whim of the US government? That's what they use the national oil reserve to do, although that is only a small portion of the supply. The US could actually buy all of the supply of Bitcoin if it wanted to--and even 20% of it would allow the US government to manipulate the price.

But if they proposed this, when Apple would lobby the government for a "strategic AAPL reserve", and holders of ETH would demand a "strategic ETH reserve" and so on. This idea is simply idiotic.

Quote
Taxes
Bitcoin or crypto transactions will be taxed less.

Bitcoin and crypto transactions are not taxed in the USA.

Repealing the capital gains tax is something Republicans have wanted to do for a long time, but they would do this for all assets, not just Bitcoin. But this would be such a transparent giveaway to the super-rich that I suspect the Republicans would never even try it.

Quote

I see it as one of many major digital currencies, but maybe not even the most valuable one anymore. Bitcoin doesn't scale to mainstream transaction loads, and the future of digital currency is mainstream transactions.

I want to see Trump not lie with the promises he has already made. Another problem is that Trump made a new word from the results of political promises into different policies. If this condition continues, then the positive things for crypto will develop well. Both candidates support Bitcoin, but indeed Trump seems more serious.  But hopefully later he will also not make decisions based on personal gain. Because Trump has had great experience with his NFT project and he understands it well so that he is able to take advantage of it. It seems that if it is realized by America like El Salvador. LOL
Trump talked about a lot in the election race. Let's see how he will implement his communications, but it is very likely that it will remain just words. In his previous term, things were exactly the same. I did not see any particularly important matters that he spoke about in front of the whole country. This time, I do not rule out that populism will also win.

So everyone's already forgotten about his promise to free Ross, eh?

Poor guy. Man must hate his status of being used as a political pawn while not seeing any real freedom.
During his campaign he promised to commute Ross Ulbricht. Well he has won and I like to see if he'd actually do that or give us one of those political excuses of why he can't or wouldn't. I remember having the same opinion as others when they said why didn't he do it during his first tenure. It is too early to tell and this. Let's see how if will all unfold.

For those that still have a hard time getting the gist of it, believe me when I tell you that it's high time to even buy more bitcoin or at the least increase your monthly investment into it because the ROI with all the possibilities with Trump back at his position isn't something worth ignoring even if this is all just a speculation, the fact that there's a possibility that bitcoin reserve can happen in US is definitely something that everyone should be looking out for.

where do you see bitcoin, specifically in the US, 4 years from now?[/b]
Maybe I'd see bitcoin going up in prices and the use of it in the US would probably double in numbers compared to the current number of users right now.
