The worst thing is that the Tariff War is not a Trump/Biden thing, it is what US regime needs to do because of their long term plans that goes beyond this government and that government short 4-8 year terms (I'm talking about the US declaration of war against the rest of the world specifically China when it comes to economy). In case you've forgotten Trump started the Tariff War and Biden continued it. The next one has no choice but to continue it.

However, I agree that Trump is the radical one of the two and the way he will implement the US regime's policies of Tariff War is going to be ten times worse. Not to mention that the shocks to the US economy and the global economy that such radicalism is going to cause (another reason for speeding up dedollarisation).

Well currently btc is being used for politics and yes, it is a double-edged sword, but according to what I have read, and I have seen on TV in the official news, I mean CNN and some others, the impact of the market can occur, I don't know, maybe with Harris or Trump, but it has already been seen that if Trump is harmed in some way the btc market goes down, I don't know, but I was aware of that, and it did not appear in the news, in fact when they tried to kill Trump the price of btc was affected, so in this aspect I don't know what to think, sometimes I don't even know what to say so as not to politically hurt anyone, sometimes the points of view are so vulnerable when saying them that a word at this point can cause discomfort to others.

It's clear that both candidates have their downsides, but Trump's economic policies, particularly tariffs, seem to pose a far greater risk to U.S. economic stability. As for Harris, while she isn't the perfect candidate, her economic approach focused on continuity and not shaking the market with tariffs or massive deportations feels like the safer bet. Plus, under the current administration, feel optimistic that Harris's policies could maintain or even bolster that momentum.

I think Trump's plans could lead to a much shakier future for both Bitcoin and the economy as a whole.

But why would this news affect the price of Bitcoin? If Trump wins and destroys the US economy by imposing huge tariffs on all US goods coming from abroad, this is good for Bitcoin because it will make the dollar lose its value and people will turn to buying Bitcoin.

No, it will be extremely bad for the price of Bitcoin. Most Bitcoin is held by Americans. When the US economy goes down, millions of Bitcoin investors will need to liquidate their holdings in order to pay the rent because they will have lost their jobs. That will crash the price of Bitcoin along with all other equities.

No wonder, Trump is good at one thing, which is blackmail. After his last victory, he blackmailed Mexico to finance the construction of the wall separating Mexico and the United States,

Trump promised he would do this, but (obviously) Mexico did not comply and the wall was never built.

No wonder, Trump is good at one thing, which is blackmail. After his last victory, he blackmailed Mexico to finance the construction of the wall separating Mexico and the United States, and he also blackmailed the Gulf countries to get money and said that they should pay for protection and did the same with Japan and South Korea. But this time it seems that he is heading to blackmail the Americans themselves by imposing these tariffs Wink

I don't like every single thing Biden did, or Harris is promising to do, but I really can't understand how people can be so negative on Biden and now Harris. Things have been pretty good for the last several years in the USA.

People forget very quickly, and they are even more inclined to condemn and point the finger at people who, in fact, could not have done more in the given circumstances and given their health condition.

How else to explain that someone with the slightest common sense wants for president a man who has as many as 37 indictments, who was practically behind the attempted coup in which people died, and who takes the side of a country that commits obvious aggression against another independent country?

The answer is that apparently about 50% of Americans are very similar to Trump (which is actually very problematic), and that when it comes to cryptocurrencies, it's not really about Bitcoin, but the shitcoiners lobby felt that if he becomes president, they will be able to make a lot of money money by selling a bunch of junk to naive people.

People who interpret SEC moves as a fight against BTC think that Gensler is bad for not allowing them the crypto wild west - and a cowboy like Trump promises them exactly that.

But even if we assume she would be, she wouldn't be a good president, she would be a bad president who is better than trump, which isn't a big standard anyways. So kamala will make it worse too, just maybe not as bad as trump, and they rather see trump make it worse than Kamala.

I really don't see where people get this. Under Biden, post-COVID inflation was completely eliminated, unemployment is at all-time lows, and the stock market is looking great---and Bitcoin went up 500%.

As for Bitcoin itself, the ETF was approved and the US has the most hashrate of any other country in the world. And there are thousands of perfectly legal and supported crypto products in the US, and most holders of Bitcoin are American citizens who do so perfectly legally.

I don't like every single thing Biden did, or Harris is promising to do, but I really can't understand how people can be so negative on Biden and now Harris. Things have been pretty good for the last several years in the USA.

Trump is worse than Biden when it comes to debt, out of all US presidents only Obama and Bush created more debt but they did so in twice as much time, so no competition really, why would anyone think Trump will not do the same in the next 4 years? After all his plan is spending more (unless it makes Mexico pay for, lol), while reducing taxes for himself and a few others.
They "know" he is going to make a lot more debt, make regular people poorer, make rich richer, and give tax breaks to rich folks while making poor people suffer, they are not unaware of this. But they also do not want other side to win, because it would mean the other side won, and why would they want other side win. They would rather see their own nation be worse with their own choice, then be worse with someone else's choice.

Kamala will not be great, maybe there is a potential she can be better than Trump, if nothing else she would be first female president and give little kids a hope that they can be presidents in the future, a good nice thing, but we do not know if she will be better than trump or not. But even if we assume she would be, she wouldn't be a good president, she would be a bad president who is better than trump, which isn't a big standard anyways. So kamala will make it worse too, just maybe not as bad as trump, and they rather see trump make it worse than Kamala.

Any one that thinks Trump is good for BTC is mentally ill and likely unable to think critically.

At least 50% of the members of this forum would consider this an insult - because even though they don't live in reality, you are spoiling the fairy tale Trump served them when it comes to BTC, but even more so when it comes to altcoins.

BTW my real concern is Trump = old and fat
Vance = young in decent shape.
chances are Vance will be the president in a few years if Trump wins

That Vance seems to me to be more insidious than all US presidents in the past 20-30 years, and I already wrote that there is something strange about that man - when I first saw him on TV, I had a strange feeling that was definitely negative.

I'm far from thinking that KH is much better than Trump, but I think that all Americans should think for themselves and not listen to what the media tells them.

I don't know man, you seem so biased that I, who try to be moderate, don't believe anything about you. For me you have a radical position and what you do is look for arguments to justify your position.

There is a simple argument for that:

I am putting my 2023 tax return in the mail tomorrow 150 pages long due to the laws trump passed on Dec 31 2017

I love how everyone who likes Trump and wants to vote for him forgets about that, maybe because they are not actually living in the US?   Grin

Besides I think like others in this thread that this is a choice between a bad one and a worse one, and the sad thing is that this doesn't only happen in the USA, we end up voting for the one we think is less bad, not the one we are enthusiastic about.

All you have to do is read the facts for yourself. Read the article I linked for instance. Trump is not being "secret" about his intentions to put tariffs on every single imported good in the USA--he is proudly running on this and says he will do this in every single speech he makes.

I am "radical" because Trump is radical. This is the most divisive election in US history by far. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats in my lifetime, so this isn't a partisan thing.

Trump was worse for me than biden.

Since I could vote in 1976

Carter sucked for me I did not vote
Reagan first term was good for me I did not vote
Reagan second term was good for me I voted for him.
Bush was good for me But I think I picked him
Clinton was good for me first term I picked him
Clinton was pretty good for me second term I picked him.
Bush sucked  picked gore
Bush sucked picked picked kerry
Obama good picked him
Obama good picked him
Trump sucked picked Clinton
Biden was very good picked him had my best two years mining ⛏️ 2021 and 2022
Harris will likely be meh. Trump will cut BTC to Ribbons if he gets in. So I will pick her If I can get to vote.

We need to completely revamp the system from complete, making sure that each and every position is elected, this way good people can be elected without needing approval from corrupt people. Then we can see real good people actually having power, instead of waiting for it to be given.

In the US, candidates are elected by popular vote in a primary election.

This is a problem that so many countries around the world are facing. The political parties don't care about bringing good leaders to represent them, they look for good politicians. People who can win votes and it's making the counties get worse.
I still do not understand why people keep falling for this. A person may be a good politician and a very horrible leader. Politics is different from leadership. A good politician will say the right things, do the right things and meet with the right people to get elected, but when elected, they won't do the right things to make life better for the people and the country. It's not looking good at all. In every election, voters have no choice but to choose the lesser evil.

I blame the party members for this. They have a choice to reject a candidate if they feel that candidate is not fit to rule, but they don't because as long as the candidate is fit to win the election, they don't care. They just want their party to win.
Unfortunately that's how the elections are won, if you do not win the elections then there is nothing that you can do that can change the nation, first you need to win the elections to make a change.

The problem with "good politicians" as in people who would want to make the nation a better place, they would say no to everyone person who wants to benefit something themselves instead of helping the nation, and because they are known as people who will not be corrupted, other corrupted ones will do their full power to make sure they are not going to higher ranks as well, otherwise if that good one goes to highest rank, they will get rid of all corrupt ones, or at least not let them be corrupt, so corrupt ones try their hardest.

The system is designed in a flawed matter and this is why I believe we are going to end up seeing corrupt politicians have the power everywhere around the world, it will not change anytime soon.

We need to completely revamp the system from complete, making sure that each and every position is elected, this way good people can be elected without needing approval from corrupt people. Then we can see real good people actually having power, instead of waiting for it to be given.

Personally ain't a fan of Trump but you really do have a thing for him.
Almost all your post are about the evil and atrocities he would cause neglecting what Harris would cause.

Trump's tariff plan is his campaign promise that he says over and over, not something anybody is making up about him. He actually things that racism is good for business, and he says so every single day, very proudly.

I believe the US picked the short straw in picking a Leader.
None Would be good for the economy especially in the long run but the citizens just have to pick the lesser evil.
I doubt anybody really knows who the lesser evil is.

Bitcoin went up 500% under president Biden, so maybe "nobody" knows, but.. the market sure does Smiley. You can't rationally predict doom and gloom like that when the immediate facts contradict it. And I'm not the one saying Democrats will kill Bitcoin, Republicans are. If you believe the US president doesn't matter, then you can't also say that Harris will somehow matter.

And economically, all of these horrible things that Republicans say will happen under Harris should be happening right now, but... they aren't: the US economy is extremely strong right now. And everything Harris is proposing today is what normal Republicans would have proposed 15 years ago before Trump took over the party. She says she wants to create an "opportunity economy"--which is exactly what George Bush said he wanted. Maybe that's why so many prominent Republicans are endorsing Harris now...

Harris has not proposed any new taxes on anybody with less than $100 million.

Trump has promised to raise taxes massively on every single American regardless of income.

Regardless, the pro-Trump mods have buried this topic as far down as one could possibly imagine, so I guess the discussion is over Smiley.

Who paid for the study? LOL

Obviously Kamala would be a disaster for this country economically. The study probably relies on her hiking taxes a crazy amount, which will result in the long term weakening of the country as all our successful people and businesses flee to more friendly environments. Not to mention Trump would increase the debt helping Americans and American businesses. Harris would increase the debt to house illegal aliens and provide them with far more than we ever provided our homeless veterans in an attempt to control the voter base of this country for generations.

Guy A is going to be twice as bad as Guy B.

How about just skip casting your vote and prepare to campaign to the winner, whoever it will be, to keep doing things that will reduce the debt growth (I don't even want to say eliminate, just make it less and less unsustainable). It really is sad, not just in the US, we're all about choosing the lesser evil.

Here is some important news that could drastically affect the price of Bitcoin:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/10/07/trump-harris-national-debt/

If you are actually concerned about the US national debt and fiscal deficits, then the only rational choice for president this election is Harris.

Trump promises to devastate the US economy by imposing gigantic tariffs on all US goods coming from abroad. This will instantly increase prices for all US consumers (far more than the COVID-related inflation we saw last year), and make the US far less competitive in the long run, forcing companies to leave for countries that don't have these tariffs.

Tariffs are stupid economic policy, but they are rooted in the vile racism that Trump makes a centerpiece of his campaign.

And along with tariffs, Trump has promised to enact the largest deportation of individuals ever perpetrated by a government, rounding up 11 million individuals and sending them to countries that most of them haven't lived in decades or more. This will be a big chunk of the US workforce, and in particular one of the most important because it will hit specific industries like agriculture (price of food will go up), construction (price of housing will go up), and hospitality (restaurants and hotels). And of course, this will require a massive expansion of the US Federal government in order to carry out this operation, which will raise taxes and put even more pressure on inflation.

And of course, with 11 million workers suddenly missing from the US, inflation will be rampant as companies will need to scramble to back-fill millions of positions, pulling workers from other industries.

All of this is a recipe for an economic collapse in the USA, and in such a collapse, individual investors will need to liquidate their investments in markets in order to pay the bills--which means massive liquidations of Bitcoin holdings, e.g. the price will drop like a rock.

There is only one candidate running in the US that will keep the price of Bitcoin moving upward, and she belongs to the same party that say Bitcoin increase by 500% in the last four years: Harris.
