Yep, at a minimum Trump will change how politicians act with the public...helping them be more open and less rehearsed (which is what the public desperately needs.) At a maximum Trump will get elected by the far right, Independents, and crazy people that usually never vote but find the idea of Trump in office hilarious.

Let's hope the US only gets a tad over the minimum effect of this campaign because the guy is ready to spend a Billion Dollars to win his seat...and he's not getting funded by anybody but himself.

People who are opposed to rabid political correctness and the retarded liberal policies will continue to support Trump. And the recent controversies, where he was subjected to unfair attacks from his rivals, has only made made him stronger. Right now, many of the grass root Republican voters think that Trump is the only primary candidate, who is ready to listen to them.

We have 'the right as citizens' to vote for the same two parties every year. The country acts (economy, war, etc) the same regardless of who lives in the white house.

I'm almost starting to think Trump is a Democratic plant into the primary.  He is dominating the converstaion and his negatives are way too high to win.  Even if he doesn't go as a third party candidate, he can do a lot of damage to whomever the nominee actually is.

Trump is fun to watch, no doubt, but he has no chance to win, so it's all a giant ego stroke.

Yes, this guy's just gross. He talks more like a sergeant than a general. You need some skills in diplomacy to be president, and I'm afraid he lacks them. The US is doomed if the choice is between him and Hilary.

A lot of people say that but... Think of one place in the whole world you would love to move forever. Where will it be? I bet it is still in the USA somewhere... Also, if you've wasted your whole life not learning another language, you are stuck in an english speaking hometown, no matter where. Not good for IQ training, or cultural diversity. I say stay here. The best place to be is in the US. Do you like mexican food?

I think this might be the best outcome. He could show that these party affiliations are so deep, so "good old boy" that they aren't productive for a moral political process any longer.

He definitely gets more clout in business, he probably gets some stay power in this election, but will likely be limited to being a pundit. It will be great, once the Republican party tells him to take a hike, to see how far he can go as an Independent. He doesn't need donations, he already has an audience.

And if he gets elected, all the negative stereotypes about the US (from abroad) will be fulfilled. "Trump" is the cheapest brand on the planet...the US will suffer the same fate if he's elected.

She used to do better, 5-10 years back.  Seems to have gotten to her head.  I guess when I say "better," I mean thinking independently from facts to conclusions.  But none of the other Fox hires did any different than her - that's what the problem is.

It's clear they're not taking Trump seriously, as you pointed out, based on the questions they ask him. However, it's also completely warranted. He's a celebrity more than anything, and he is not a politician. To think he has political answers to problems first requires him to establish any credibility whatsoever that he's not just a superficial windbag (which he is), and since he has no political experience, we can only draw from what he's done to this point, which is run businesses into the ground. As much as you don't want it to be, that is relevant to someone who professes to have the answers on how to solve the national debt. He can't handle a business soundly, it doesn't bode well for the finances of the entire country. He has no credibility to stand up there and profess to have answers to a problem like that, and the moderators were right to force him to reconcile the the persona he wants to present with the reality of what he is.

I think the Republicans need to come up with some better attacks. Trump says it like he sees it. Yes, it might be a little out of place. Yes, it might hurt some people’s feelings, and yes I would take it personally if he said it to me, but so what. In this country we are allowed to say what we want.

First off, I do support Trump. And according to all of the liberal media, I am the exact opposite of the typical choice for going with Trump. I am college education with a Bachelors degree and who runs my own business and a degree in the same field that these journalists say make them capable of determining who will make a good president. I have a home, kids, family, and support myself along with my husband. I am also a woman and am not offended by the things he has said against women. I think that Megyn Kelly is full of herself and trying to start trouble where none exists.

Second, I think Megyn Kelly is a spoiled rich daddy’s girl who is way past her prime and wishes she were back in the sorority and about to head on spring break to use daddy’s money. I honestly had not heard of her before, I do not watch much of the news, but two seconds of watching her and I probably would have called her much worse than Trump did in the debates and after. She needs to go find her rich hubby and go enjoy being a trophy wife until its time for another plastic surgery and leave the politics to those who can actually ask decent questions.

Trump is the forerunner and the Republicans do not like it. If anyone listened to the questions they asked, none of them were about what he would do when elected. One question was abut what he called a woman years ago. One was about a comment he made on Mexicans, and another was about his businesses going bankrupt. These are personal questions, not questions about what he will do as President. Instead of asking about his comment on Mexico, they should ask what he plans to do about immigration. Instead of bankruptcy questions, which many businesses have declared bankruptcy and many of those senators would do it in a second if they could for the states they bankrupt, they should ask how he plans to fix the economy.

These are the issues we should be concentrating on. Instead, we focus too much on making this a circus show over a year before the elections. I felt Trump did the best he could with the questions he was asked. But I did feel that most of the candidates were treated this way as well, Trump was just hit on the most.

Right now, this is what we need. In a world with Planned Parenthood stealing millions of dollars from the government so they can kill babies and make more money from the sale of these parts. In a world where we say everyone can believe what they want and we are a country of freedom, those who stick with their Christian values about marriage, abortion and many other issues are criticized and made to be the stupid ones. In a world where we hand bad nuclear materials to countries we’ve been in war with for years. In a world where countries are defaulting and going under and we are not far behind. We need a change.

It might not be Trump, but right now he is the only one who is standing up and pointing out that the others are liars and are just going to go back to the path we are on. And I know they were trying to trick him with the whole third party thing at the beginning, but that is a brilliant move. Trump is so far ahead of the others in the polls that if he is not put into the race at this point, it proves that the GOP is ignoring what the people want from that party. A third party run will result in a Democratic win. Trump is not stupid enough to think he would win as a third party candidate, but he knows that the Republicans are going to stop in their tracks and think carefully before they just hand over the election to the other side, something that is sure to happen if Trump breaks off.

There is a time and place for saying outrageous things.

Basically it's after outrageous things have been happening, seem to be continuing unabated, and nobody wants to talk about them.

To what end? He's losing business partners as he runs his mouth more and more. The press is hardly "free" or beneficial if he's not running to win.

I saw this, and I am convinced that Trump is not really interested in becoming president.  I think he is just saying as many outrageous things as possible to get some free press.

This will stiffle dissent in the Party. Limiting his exposure is a power play. The Party knows it can't put this guy forward as a candidate, so they need to start limiting his exposure now to save themselves from having him win the primary and being forced to support him in a general election he has zero chance of winning.

People who don't swear fealty to the Party will be diminished, and Trump failed to swear fealty at the first debate when he refused to promise to support whoever the nominee is. Maybe Trump doesn't need to because he can finance his own campaign, but no one else in this group can, and that's why no one else will dare anger the Party Bosses. Everyone else will fall in line. Trump will be made an example of, and the excuse will be "he's offensive." Most republican candidates are offensive/insensitive, Trump's real crime is he's not loyal to the Party.

I read some of Trups answers to questions put to him. He is not politically correct but he does seem to say it as it is. Will probably gain a lot of votes from those who are tired of same old.

It looks like some in the Republican party are starting to deny Trump access based on his blunt and potentially offensive talk. The really interesting thing is that when the announcement of the cancellation of Trump's attendance at an event was announced to the crowed, there was "a mix of applause and boos."

What Trump says is sometimes obnoxious and offensive and narcissitic. In no way is he fit to represent a country as a President, but is approach may reinvigorate voters who have become numb to censored political speak. Maybe this will help future candidates speak more candidly.
