I'm curious if people think this is a legitimate use of the trust system:

There is no such thing as legitimate use of the trust system.Free World, use it however you like unless you're on the DT network.Once you get there, people don't miss a chance to judge your ratings. Apparently, one needs to be quite mature with innate decision making abilities while leaving feedbacks when you on the DT.

To me it looks like CfB gives SN negative trust for basically no reason, basically saying, "you're acting like a scammer so I'll give you negative trust even though I'm not going to say how you're trying to scam anyone." I mean, SN calls CfB a scammer and says NXT and iota are scams, but is that a legitimate reason to give a negative trust rating?
Doesn't matter. No one takes those feedbacks seriously.

What minifrij was meaning to say is, the user is neither on DT depth 1 nor on DT dept 2, hence their feedbacks do not show up with "standard" settings.
Yes, apologies for that. I should have clarified better.

Out of interest, what am I on? Is there a DT5 or just neutral trust?
Technically there is no limit to the depth of DT as someone gets added to a tier by someone in the tier above adding them to their trust list. For example, if someone on DT4 adds a user to their trust list that user will become DT5 and so on. However, all DT tiers past 4 are essentially useless as their is no way to view their feedback by default (apart from adding each user to your own trust list).

Regarding what tier you are on, I couldn't find any users with you on their trust list in the latest trust.txt file. This means that you aren't on the DT network whatsoever.

Huh, I have only default trust set with depth 4, but it does show up for me.
The "vanilla" setting for depth is 2, which is generally the recognized one.
You're on DT1 or DT2, you are in, you're on DT3 or DT4, not yet.

What minifrij was meaning to say is, the user is neither on DT depth 1 nor on DT dept 2, hence their feedbacks do not show up with "standard" settings.

Oic, I guess I must have messed with it at some point. Thanks for the info Smiley

If you want to change it back then it's probably here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust

Just change the people in your trust list.

ComeFromBeyond doesn't trust SatoNakamoto, and therefore he left a negative rating to reflect that. There isn't any abuse of the trust system going on there.
Regardless, ComeFromBeyond isn't on the DT network so the feedback won't show up by default; I don't think it is much of a problem.
