This thread is very useful for traders like me because I just stick to popular exchanges like Cryptopia and Coinexchange but I also want to hear other opinions who already experienced other alternatives. So we'll be able to know which one to avoid or to try.

Bittrex X - I haven't used this exchange so far, but I dislike the fact that you need to upload your documents to be able to trade. Even if you don't want to deposit nor withdraw fiat.
Coinbase/GDAX X
Kraken A - I trust this exchange, they never disappointed me. Their support is really fast, they don't require any documents for small deposits or withdrawals and they support SEPA transactions. All these factors made me create an account on Kraken.
QuadrigaQC X
CoinCorner X
Poloniex X
CanadianBitcoins X
BitFinex X
BitHumb X
BitStamp X
Cryptopia B - I think this exchange is worth mentioning, it's easy to use, has the lowest fees I have seen with an exchange and has lots of different altcoins to offer. You can't deposit nor exchange fiat but it's a very useful when you want to exchange a lot of different altcoins.

Bittrex - D
Poloniex - D

Both exchanges showed now issues with locked accounts , 0 Withdrawals and Bittrex even modified user accounts from 2014-2015 to 'new' like they registered yesterday.

Considering 'Basic' verification does not work on Bittrex and they force you now to send them pictures and ID.

Bittrex - E  --------> light them up and watch em burn,

Honestly Bittrex proved they don't give a shit about their users and do whatever they want. Let's show them that was a big mistake. Put them out of business.
No little shit will force me to hand over my documents to be able to withdraw money... If  I'm supposed to lose that money then i want to see Bittrex go DOWN in flames.

Personal recent experiences are very good with Kraken and with Binance/ Bittrex (the latter are crypto-only exchanges). I also had an okayish experience with cex.io, but I went away from them because there everything is trading over market price and fees are pretty high too.

I haven't had any problems with hitbtc so far, but would like to diversify. Thanks for this list. How do you feel about Binance?

They are not to be trusted, no exchanging should be trusted, don't you know that if they decide to do something like freezing your account and never give your coins back, they have their own legitimate reasons? what they are doing is not against the laws, governments are forcing every major exchanging services to do this. I wouldn't trust any of them if they haven't been in this forum with a dedicated thread. if you don't want to get caught, use small but trusted exchanges, by the time they grow big enough for regulators to notice it would be too late to stop them.

Of course no exchange should be trusted, heck if someone put their all or most of their bitcoins and left their FIAT on the exchange they are looking for trouble, I mean we learned the hard way with MTGox, but this comparison is for the sake of comparing the customer service and more or less a comparison of the legitimacy of the website, Kraken for example seems to be one of the most solid in this area in my opinion although the customer is degrading to the site becoming more and more popular

I gave gathered 10 names here but please feel free to add any exchange you thing it deserves our attention

Bittrex
Coinbase/GDAX
Kraken
QuadrigaQC
CoinCorner
Poloniex
CanadianBitcoins
BitFinex
BitHumb
BitStamp

Bittrex, Poloniex, Coinbase and Bitfinex are those who are in the list that I have personally used until now.

There are lots of negative views about Poloniex this year but even one of those negative views, I haven't experienced it so basically Im using this trading platform until now. I can applied that too in Bittrex and Coinbase. No such thing as they gave me problems from years that I have been using them. Just some minor problems but eventually solved.

Except for Bitfinex that already experienced lots of "hacked" issues and "breaching" their security. Im really pissed off when they automatically converted my BTC funds there into a token after their platform have been hacked. Since then I never used this exchange.

I feel like that Kraken has the least amount of complaints as of now.

Bittrex is always having issues with their withdrawals and account limits, and so is poloniex. I would not trust them with storing my crypto coins at least at this moment simply because of all the confusion going about basic accounts, enhanced verification, etc.

Canadianbitcoins, coincorner, etc. are all small exchanges. I have not used them personally.

A – I trust it, putting my own funds there is my choice
B – I trust it more than the average
C  – I trust it, average level
D – Do not put your money there, ever

I have gathered 10 names here but please feel free to add any exchange you thing it deserves our attention

My grades for the exchanges, along with my reasoning, is below:

Bittrex - C: Recent scare around locked/disabled accounts, lots of recent KYC/security changes, service has also degraded in recent months.
Coinbase/GDAX - A: Licensed and FDIC-insured. I'm comfortable leaving funds here. Free limit orders on GDAX. Not the best trade engine in the world, though.
Kraken - D: Terrible trade engine, does not answer for it and service seems only to degrade more over time.
QuadrigaQC - N/A: not familiar with this exchange.
CoinCorner - N/A: not familiar with this exchange.
Poloniex - C: Long support waits, lots of glitches; I don't keep funds here for long.
CanadianBitcoins - N/A: not familiar with this exchange.
BitFinex - D: Hacked, involved in unregistered securities/derivatives, unlicensed.
BitHumb - D: Seems to be involved in lots of pumping/manipulation, went down for 12 hours at top of BCH pump.
BitStamp - A: One of the most reliable, longstanding exchanges. Licensed. I'm comfortable leaving funds here.

Bittrex-C/D(Semi)
Coinbase/GDAX-C
Kraken-B
QuadrigaQC-C
CoinCorner-C
Poloniex-D
CanadianBitcoins-B(Local Exchanger,so it should be more safe than international exchanges)
BitFinex-C
BitHumb-C
BitStamp-C

Lately Bittrex doing a shady activity,by forcing their costumer to verify their account.
i think it's a move caused by SEC,
(i heard Bittrex backed by SEC,that mean SEC trying to figure out who is the investor by tracking costumers data).
Coinbase sometimes doing a shitty thing, and some of their action made an investor think twice to store their money in there.
Kraken is a good exchanges, but they have a shitty website and hardware.sometimes when we see a movement in the market,we can not access them due to overload.
Poloniex an exchanges that have a tons problem but still survived this long,i do not understand how can they survive and none of the(victim) take a legal action against them

lastly,it would be best for us to consider using our own local exchanges,
the majority people who has a problem with an international exchanges due to their residence,
which mean the exchanges choose their victim from their location because they're afraid if the victim take a legal action against them.
that is why it's very recommended to use local exchanges because you can control your portfolio and coming to their office if something wrong happen.

You can add Cryptopia to your list, and I would give it A+++, some others that you can be interested in are HitBTC, Livecoin
If I have to choose 3 I would add in: Kraken, Cryptopia, BitStamp

Topics with title problems like "funding/withdraws locked in Kraken" If you follow up the story carefully and are yourself a member of Kraken, you will notice that the problem usually comes from people not reading enough Kraken FAQ, etc.

Bittrex D
Coinbase/GDAX C
Kraken A
QuadrigaQC No idea about this one sorry
CoinCorner No idea about this one sorry
Poloniex D
CanadianBitcoins No idea about this one sorry
BitFinex I have a mixed opinion about it
BitHumb No idea about this one sorry
BitStamp A

Bittrex is a SCAM, why are you all saying that it is a trustable exchange?? It has been closing a lot of accounts, just look at all those scam reports that are on the forum, they are not fake..

You guys are a waste of time, maybe you are just repeating all the words that you read on another post and you only want to keep spamming this forum by repeating this shit. Bittrex is fake, and they are stealing money from people.

Better to stay away from this exchange if you really want to hold your coins for long term and if you dont want to get them stolen by this company.

Locking accounts are going to be common thing that will happen to traders account from selected countries. If you are not suspended, you can't withdraw until  you show IDs like  passport. I think the world are now rallying to track everyone who are going to be millionaires in  the future. So if you're locked and can't prove your identity, then  you  are not going to be millionaire soon. Smiley

Try  coinexcahnge or  cryptopia

Hello there.

I completely understand the risks of exchanges platforms in the cryto world.

However, and considering the recent events reported on BitcoinTalks (locked "big – 1 M$'' accounts in Bittrex, funding/withdraws locked in Kraken, etc), I would like to know the classification that members would give to exchanges as of today

Nothing complicated, simply by classifying then as:

A – I trust it, putting my own funds there is my choice
B – I trust it more than the average
C  – I trust it, average level
D – Do not put your money there, ever
[/b]

I gave gathered 10 names here but please feel free to add any exchange you thing it deserves our attention

Bittrex
Coinbase/GDAX
Kraken
QuadrigaQC
CoinCorner
Poloniex
CanadianBitcoins
BitFinex
BitHumb
BitStamp

In my particular case, my goal is to purchase both well established coins/tokes  (40%) as well as alcoins (60%). BTW, I am from Canada, just in case.
P..s: It my first intervention/post so sorry if I have missed something related with rules or If I have posted this on the wrong Form
