It might help if you tell us your country though.

Try out Abra[1]. It's a decent alternative. Used it in the past with no problem. Transfers from Abra -> bank just might be a bit slower compared to when using Coinbase.

[1] https://www.abra.com/

Sorry am from the UAE (Dubai), so i only wanna buy with VISA and HODL, not gonna sell ATM...

You can purchase using Abra. Was just saying that if you're planning on transfering FIAT from Abra to your bank, it will take days.

Would YOU buy from them ??...

Of course assuming ur not living in Moscow since it seems most of their clients are russians !...

I'm from South-East Asia and a decent number of people here use Abra's service.

so abra creates for your a passphrase and seems reliable as u can restore your wallet if you loose your phone but can still have your passphrase (something bitcoin core does offer, u need to have wallet backup + passphrase) do u think abra is reliable to store your money or is it an exchange and not trustworthy ?...

thanks,

you might wanna try abra.com but again just a reminder don't leave your funds on any exchange unless you are willing to trade it short term.

Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex... are all fine. Poloniex used to be really popular, Kucoin is now, IDEX is decentralized and probably not what you're after but is actually a quite decent exchange. If you have any specific demands, like, you have a specific card you'd like to purchase with, that would be the direction you'd be looking at. So "exchanges that accept X card". And that would narrow your search a lot. Or if you have specific country demands, search by looking at that. All exchanges actually work and are not much risky if you withdraw money after your trades. Even the largest exchanges used to get hacked/collapse, and it will happen again. Just avoid that risk and you should be good.

binance seems nice and from your words seems trustworthy and reputable !... and of course our One and Only Local exchange the infamous Bitoasis  Grin

BitFenix message Sad

Bitfinex is a platform for professional traders. If you are new to cryptocurrency trading, please consider another, more straightforward platform first and return to Bitfinex later.

Well one of the most reputable ones is Coinbase, and they accept credit card purchases to boot. The only problem is they don't support buying/selling in the UAE yet.

I found this UAE exchange that accepts credit card payments:

https://bitoasis.net/en/front/faq

A quick Google search seems to show that they're legit, though you may want to do your own research to be sure. I cannot vouch for their legitimacy as I don't use their service.

You could otherwise try localbitcoins or bisq, though I'm not sure if you could use your credit card on them.

As far as I know Bitfinex hasnt any restrictions regarding the country of the user. Its also one of my favorite exchanges in terms of supported coins and usability.

This would probably be good too, but they only accept bank wire if I remember correctly.

I dont want to sound ungreatful at all, but every single miner here in the UAE is aware of Bitoasis since they are the only Registered and legit business running here in the country  Grin Grin They are pretty good, i guess, i only sold them my BTC once, no delays at all, besides they are a registered business, but the problem they no longer accept credit/debit cards when buying BTC  Huh Huh They only accept wire transfer which is fairly quick within the country (few hours or maybe minutes) but not quite convenient !...

thats why am looking to buy from someone/somewhere else, bitoasis are good to sell them your BTC, i just hope they dont screw me like the bastards from igot... ((am really worried about that)) so not gonna put all my eggs in the same basket from now on, and will prob. try sell to multiple exchangers IF i make a huge profit, thanks for the insight though...

Use Kraken if your country allows you to trade on the exchange.

Abra is another good Choice.

If you are from Europe and would like to purchase with credit card then changenow.io and changelly.com are good for that from my experience

Yes, there isn't much we can do when we don't know where you're coming from. but let's assume buying cryptos in your country is not illegal. Then I believe that Binance, OKEx or Huobi should be good alternative for you.

I believe Binance is available worldwide and is very trusted though young exchange. That is my personal go to exchange and I never had issues. Sure it had some down time in last few months but everything was resolved and there are no hacks that I know of.

with this being said, always store your coins outside of exchange wallets (but am sure you know that already)

hope this helps, cheers
