Why does it take so long for it to be open sourced? Something smells fishy here. Several other projects have been open source from the beginning. Please do not come with a lame excuse like you are afraid of copycats.

Everyone who wanted to see the source code got it via disassembling .class files (they r not obfuscated). Please, do not come with a lame excuse like you don't speak Java.

Nxt uses brand new software.  It’s not a fork of Bitcoin source code.

Nxt improves different features of Bitcoin, removes some disadvantages (e.g. bloated blockchain) and resolves a big environmental issue.  Time between blocks is one minute.  This increases the rate of orphaned blocks but makes it more convenient for the users.
