Don't do a shit yourself, this is enough to get someone killed, remember the guy that burnt himself trying to do wiring himself? That's a big lesson mate it's safer to hire a qualified electrician to do the wiring for you.
I strongly agree that this is enough power that is best when you hire a professional to do it.Such big mining farm financially speaking can allow the hiring of a professional to do the installations for you,remember life is worth much more than any mining rig or any amount of money,is priceless.
You are right, any small mistake can lead to very bad injury or death I don't understand why people do this on their own when they aren't professionals, building miners is different from playing with high wattage electricity, it's a very wrong idea
(i'm gonna scare this scared y cats
)
yeah the guy that got arc'd.. if you really think about it, it was the panel box and all those breakers that put a man in front of that box to do some "wiring" probably to add more load.
- (not safe) because some people subconsciously will not shut down the breakers with load (because computers are mining = money$$), amps and voltage formed the arc.
how about we remove the panel box and those breakers? and only use 1 small box for 1 main breaker 125A
AWG 2 is rated at 115A
5 x thhn AWG 12 spliced to AWG 2 inside a metal box, it is rubber taped and electrical taped over.
- the line's are already maxed out, so, you'll no longer be "wiring" for additional load (safer)
- if you got an outlet burned, you are have no choice but to switch off the main breaker
16A x 5, is 80A = ~ 17,600watts
so.. who will do the job of the breakers?
- 15A outlet x 2 per outlet box (30A max), you'll burn the outlet even before you burn those THHN AWG 12.
- common heavy duty 2500w extension cords have an overload trip, continuous load will ruin it at 2000W that's why you have to use it at 1600-1800w only.
now..2500w / 190v = 13.15A will not overload the 15A outlets because, extension cords will trip or burn first before those 15A outlet where it is plugged.
1600-1800w is (two rigs or one rig with two PSU) with 3080s or 3080ti's or 3090's.
