I don't think it's necessary.  MY current settings are not a 256 multiplier, but I get ~20% faster hash rate than all my other concurrency attempts that did have 256 multipliers, or whole number shader multipliers, etc.

Thanks for your advice. I will read the readme.

But one more question. Is it nessecary to keep the 256 factor in thread concurrencies values for faster mining?

I also noticed that I placed it in the wrong forum section as I saw a simular post being moved to alt. coin section. But I noticed too late. If anyone could move this I would be thanksful.

read the readme.scrypt file.

each individual card may need it's own "optimum" settings, although a single brand/model is generally okay sharing settings.

That's the problem w/ optimizing these cards for scrypt, it's all trial and error.

Also, TC has NOTHING TO DO WITH BITCOINS...

Hello guys,

I do have a R9 270X, Sapphire Dual-X. According to the litecoin website I should run cgminer with the following settings: I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 16384

But once I set the thread concurrency to 16384 my hashrate drops and sticks around 420khs. If I set the concurrency to 16000 it does go to about 470khs. Now 16000 isn't a 256 factor. It seems that any 256 factor doesn't work for me...

Any ideas how this may happen?

Also, where should I see hw errors if there are any?
