It's sad that it's even necessary but good for them for taking action.  Who knows how much it even affects the NSA though.  They could hear a pin drop on Mars.

I'm somewhat against attempting to shutdown/shrink the NSA. Why? because I feel people will go "oh look the NSA is shut down now, now we don't have to encrypt our emails" and if people do that it will make the situation worse. The NSA didn't do many things that criminals and other governments haven't been doing, they just did them at an incredible scale, in fact GCHQ was and still is much worse than the NSA, but that fact is always ignored. Shutting down the NSA won't solve the main problem which is that people haven't been protecting their privacy.

IMO anyone who needs to / is smart enough to encrypt their emails knows better.

Great news and it will be interesting to see who votes against it in each of these states that considers this measure. Since their governor Jan Brewer stood up to the feds in a small way on immigration, I wonder if she has the sand to sign such a bill that attempts to gut the feds spying agency.
