Thanks for the advise OP, it would be a great help to all of us so we could see now if we can submit our replies or thread after creating one. this would be an advantage for us so we wouldn't need to check the time on our physical clock or in the time of the PC if we are going to submit our topic.

This would be really suitable for active user in this forum, if you are really into this forum and you are always creating thread so fast then you need to set this one.
Thanks OP, i remember when I wanted to attach a counter on one of my gambling discussion posts. It was supposed to be a timer to a certain Champion's League Match but I completely gave up on the idea  Grin
This will be very helpful to me.
Lol, I wanted to this thing before but I ended up the way ss you  Grin it is really hard for me to do that, but at least someone created this, thanks for the help OP, this is really a great advantage for active people here.

Thanks for a great help OP, it would be really a good help especially for these people who are really active in this forum and can create a post so quickly.

I remember those times when I always get notified that I need to wait for 360 seconds before I create replies on the specific thread again. It always happens to me before because I always great post time by time when I was not so busy before.

So what I did is that I always check the time in my clock 360 seconds= 6 minutes, so I always wait for 6 minutes before I create another one.

As I don't have many things to do because of lockdown, I decided to translate this thread to my local board with the permission of the thread owner. This thread is really helpful when you have an event going on but one thing that I noticed is I don't know which time zone is used in this one. I tried changing the date to may 16, 2020 date base on my local time but the result is 15 hours left before reaching May 16 where the exact remaining time is 7 hours starting now.

It might not be much of use to me but in my opinion this guide will be useful for events that needs countdown timer to start the event or the end of it just like mentioned above about auction. I'm willing to share this knowledge to my fellow countrymen and some people that might need this timer.

Great work OP  Smiley Lots of use cases for this - especially for auctions . It will stop all the confusion with end times. With all the different time zones -  GMT, EST etc , this will come in really handy and make life a lot easier !

indeed - it is a great help and relief for the participants of an auction if they come from different time zones

have found another counter/timer - but here you have to enter your own e-mail

the original thread was created by Tytanowy Janusz in the polish local board and was translated by me into english and german with his permission

Recently I started leading a Challenge in the Meta Section and wondered if it is even possible to include a gif that counts down to a certain date. I started searching in Google and found a solution that allows to set the Timer/Counter in only 5 minutes (up to 999 days in advance).

You only have to visit this website:
https://seanja.com/secret/countdown/gif.php?time=2020-01-22-0:00

and after "time=" set the time up to which the countdown should begin. Then copy the path and paste it into [img.]http://[/img.].

and then you get this nice Timer/Counter:

As an example we see here a countdown for New Years Eve Smiley As you can see, the second hand goes slightly beyond the outline of the gif for more than 100 days. But for <100 days it works perfectly.

Here is a little trick to change the size of the image thrown into the BTT:
Code:
[img width=200 height=80 alt=image loading...]https://seanja.com/secret/countdown/gif.php?time=2020-12-31-23:59[/img]
image loading...

If we specify only one unit of measurement (e.g. width), the image will be scaled to the specified height while retaining its shape (often used when you want to resize the image quickly but don't know the dimensions and want to avoid flattening it)

It works in such a way that every time you visit the website (Forum Refreshing), a 1 minute looping gif is generated that updates every second and imitates a real clock. After one minute, however, it will show a wrong time. To see the correct time, you need to refresh the page (then a new gif is generated with the same path as the link from the forum)
