Thanks for this useful instructions, We can't really stop scammers from doing bad things so we need to create countermeasures like this one.

Add extension Suspicious Site Reporter for chrome browser or Netcraft Anti-Phishing Extension for firefox.
It will automatically detect phishing or unconfirmed website.

I don't use before, so I can't review those both extensions.
Thanks for this I use Cryptonite - Online Identity Protection but it is paid now but they have a free 1-month trial, I will try this suspicious-site-reporter looks like it is free.  But I always do the old ways to always check the URL or where the email is coming from before clicking anything.

Hey guys cryptonite just block a phishing attempt from a legit social media "twitter" I am just amazed they have detected the user is a scammer or has a malicious attempt. He tag me and then I click the twitter notif and then this pop-up.

Using filter and auto delete is just a more fancier way of dealing with spams. Basically, I just ignore any email coming from a random stranger or projects. For instance, so many emails about airdrops and launching of a new exchange. These are just scams packaged in an unsuspecting manner to steal funds.
Thanks for the tutorials though, will sure apply this too.

I often receive spam emails like this and I will follow the instructions on how to filter incoming emails like in this thread, and I will try it, hopefully this is useful for me because I'm tired of seeing incoming messages that only contain BAT.

I'm asking this because It's not all phishing emails that has to do with 1500 BAT tokens giveaway/airdrop. Would appreciate a reply.

Yes, multiple keywords is possible, on my tutorials already mentioned about it (point 4). You can adding multiple keywords with this format.

Quote
"WORD 1" OR "WORD 2" OR "WORD 3"

You can fill word 1, word 2, word 3 and more with your own keywords. and make sure you are not filled email sender form. if you do, filter only work for that email sender.

and thanks to TryNinja already help me to give an answer Smiley

Is there to way to add multiple keywords? I'm asking this because It's not all phishing emails that has to do with 1500 BAT tokens giveaway/airdrop. Would appreciate a reply.
Yes. Go to Gmail's settings, there is a tab called "Filters and Blocked Addresses" where you can create as many filters as you want.

Received the same email, many receive that email here in the forum, thank you for the tut. Luckily I don't use my personal email in crypto or have separate email for bounties. Maybe it was get thru bounties I joined before. We should not click any links from emails we know  that we don't subscribe in it to avoid being phished by different sites.

Search on google using keywords from email title to check the truth of the program they are offering, i'm often do this.

This is an easy way to get real information about something we get that maybe many people don't think about. Of course using specific keyword will bring a good results. Use "" symbol ("keywords") to get good results.

example: Brave airdrop "1,500 BAT" (google search only)

But thats way, just to stay away to opening email, not solving how to avoid spam or something we don't want to receive. Opening email from strange sender sometime needed,to make us easy to create filter and will never receive junk email  Wink

Thank you for these additional tools

Agree, It would be best if you just ignore every emails you recieved from unknown senders.-snip-
Ignoring emails from unknown sender is indeed the easiest step, but the tutorial that OP recommends is also good for making scammers not easily using the same email as previously used to scam, and this step also helps peoples to avoid scammers, at least reduce the ease which scammers doing.

I would strongly advice about opening ANY email you dont know as the scammer will know you have clicked it. Its too dangerous, you can still report the email without opening it.

Also, the scammer will track you and know when you clicked it and your IP, so they can use the IP to shadow your account and try to recover it using VPN

Agree, It would be best if you just ignore every emails you recieved from unknown senders. Because we are all connected and accesible by anyone from anywhere through our connection with the internet. It won't be hard for scammers and cybercriminals to track us down especially if they know a lot about networks. Also, they might have already knew that some won't click the link so they will just re-program their malware to execute the crime the moment you opened the email. So never trust easily and kill your curiousity before it kill you.

thank you for your warning. Yes, you are right about we can report that email without opening, but it just for report as spam. In my opinion, report as spam, wouldn't working because sender using trusted domain and always change his email every day and they are still have email data. Open phishing email or not, they still able to send us an email. But, with report as phishing, I hope Google system can filter similar email and delete it before receiving to Inbox.

1. Open your phishing email
2. Click three dot under the print button on your email, focus on subject area.
3. Report as phishing
4. And send

Here is step by step to report phishing mail easily with the google email account.

I don't know how long this button ready on our email menu, because I never checked that menu (three vertical dot). Of course, this feature is a good option for members. I hope this can help someone to avoid from scam and phishing, and maybe give a new knowledge to member who doesn't check this menu before Smiley

REPORT PHISHING

2 days in a row, I received a phishing email about airdrop BAT from different account with similar content. So, to prevent another member became a victim of this project, so I report URL to https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. CREATE FILTER

1. Mark targeted email (on this example, email already on spam, because I reported as Phishing before)
2. Click three vertical dots on menu bar

3. Click menu "Filter message like these"

4. Don't fill anything except "has the words" form. Fill this form using keywords usually used with format
Code:
"WORD 1" OR "WORD 2" OR "WORD 3"
example:
"1,500 BAT" OR "Brave Software" OR "Brave Airdrop" OR "BAT 1.500" OR "1.500 BAT" OR "BAT Token"

5. Click "Create Filter Button"

6. Mark "Also apply filter to 0 matching conversations." and "Delete it"

7. Click "create filter"

8. Test using one of keywords from different email, something like this

If your email contain 1,500 BAT you send never shown in your Inbox, it's mean your filter was working. Congratulations Smiley
