This forum for example is a cryptocurrency(bitcoin) platform, but the money raised In here is via FIAT, and theymos gets paid as well as pays his MODS in FIAT, USD) currencies
We use FIAT currencies to promote this forum(paid advert, corper membership, evil IP etc, they are all paid for in US dollars)

No... Only BTC is accepted for ads and copper memberships; 100% of the forum's income has always been BTC. ~80% of the forum's expenses are also paid in BTC, including all mod payments.

As far as I see, people might associate crypto with murders, kidnapping, blackmail and the darkmarket. Grin
This is negative propaganda over the crypto world. Grin

It's possible, but take into account that it's not a documentary but a TV series, it's fiction. The audience should be intelligent enough to know the difference.

I didn't know this show existed but I'll definitely check it out. Between this and Silicon Valley taking on crypto, it's fun to see how the topic is even handled in mainstream entertainment.

Are there other crypto-focused shows that most probably wouldn't know about? Whether it's American-produced or foreign...

I'll make a mental note to look up the series and watch it as any information is useful and easier to learn doing something fun as watching a series which I can do in my spare time.

there is only one mega flaw in all 3 series of the TV show

in each series the underlying fault is that the guys keep trying to find different methods of getting FIAT to fund their crypto projects. i think they miss the point of cryptocurrencies entirely.

We see that increasingly in ICOs, as some seem to scared of volatility in cryptocurrency (in general, not BTC)
And at the beginning if the last low, most ICOs were reported to sell off their cryptocurrency funds (mostly ETH) to cover overheads.

Of course these funds could be necessary at points, and lower value would mean less than was raised is being realized.

No doubt the program will be an opener to many who are yet to grasp the blockchain technology as well as help advertise the whole idea of cryptocurrencies. This is a very good development from the brain behind the film.

Many hope that this program on TV will provide good and accurate information about crypto. The crypto TV program will be one step that is able to expand social networks and become a knowledge that I feel deserves to be a bright future.

so series 3 was released this week. its a show all about cryptocurrencies
available/showing on sonys crackle platform/channel..... of them cough streaming sites cough that are not affiliatd with mainstream broadcast platforms

starring
dork from 'the OC'
watson from 'sherlock', he also in recent 'fargo' series and a few marvel movies
hellboy from 'hellboy'

series one was about starting an altcoin, and pivoted into ICO and blackmail and VC funding
series two was about ICO and blackmail, kidnapping and murder ending with releasing a openbazaar LN hybrid

series three begins with the openbazaar LN used as a silkroad(darkmarket) which brings in the NSA trying to get involved

this might cause a stir in the speculative market. as it was not a coincidence that just making an altcoin mutated into "ICO's" around the time of the hype of series 1&2

It's quite interesting-you will definitely need to look at it in your free time. Although in General, movies and TV series about cryptocurrency or programming are very rarely close to the truth. Of all currently available closest to the existing programming model resembles the TV series "Mr. Robot". As far as I know, real programmers and extensive experience in their field worked on the script. All the advice!

oh yeah, I am very enthusiastic about this news, finally there is a tv show that wants to adapt the crypto industry. I think this tv show is not only attractive to activists and the crypto community, but it can also be a promotional medium for lay people who are interested and want to learn more about the cryptocurrency industry. I hope the more series they make and can be enjoyed by everyone in the world.

right, with the negative TV shows there will always be positive contradictions from other TV shows, in the crypto world I don't like TV programs to find information about the future of crypto, the reason is TV where the country is still confused with crypto then all the tv shows will have a bad impact on crypto

in each series the underlying fault is that the guys keep trying to find different methods of getting FIAT to fund their crypto projects. i think they miss the point of cryptocurrencies entirely.
Can we really do without using FIAT in one way or the other in crypto sphere, yeah it's a system based on a digital currency, and should be a p2p digital cash transaction

But that's not to say FIAT can't be used to promote it, every ICO project all raise funds in fiat currencies(fund raising/crowd raising)
This forum for example is a cryptocurrency(bitcoin) platform, but the money raised In here is via FIAT, and theymos gets paid as well as pays his MODS in FIAT, USD) currencies

I actually see no wrong in using FIAT to promote cryptocurrency.

it is called Crypto-"Currency" for a reason. it is not meant to be used to only convert fiat to it back and forth. and what ICOs are doing has nothing to do with any of this. they are only raising funds to become rich. that is all. it is not even related to cryptocurrencies nor the blockchain technology Cheesy
