I think that this streamer is very lucky. 20 Bitcoin is good money. It will be good if this streamer will not sell its Bitcoins, but will hodl them.

He's F*cking lucky, can't imagine how happy this guy right now. I'm sure with this BTC he got form this donator he will use this for upgrading his PC and also his gaming equipment too.  Cheesy
Anyway I never played RuneScape it looks like an old 8bit game, seems this donator is a whale who like so much plays RuneScape then he found streamer who stream playing RuneScape, he like it then donates this guy as apreciation...
Yep.
I know people used to send fake $10,000 donations for the troll, and then request a chargeback in PayPal. But with BTC and irreversible transactions, you know the donor really meant it.
I'm not gonna lie, I hate the fact that video gamers get more donations than orphans, sick third world children with no healthcare, etc, but money is money.

Been slightly active on the Old School RuneScape community due to it being one of my favorite childhood games, and yes, he legitimately received the 20 BTC.

But if its real, anyone thinking to start his own stream with old games?
You can definitely make A LOT of money Streaming. Unfortunately, it's really not for everyone though. You need to have a not-so-boring personality for the people to actually enjoy your stream. I have a few irl friends that has tried YouTube/Twitch but failed terribly due to them simply not being able to entertain their potential audience.

it seems that streaming is only suitable for those who are able to keep talking (but also qualified) and not only talk about what they are doing but also invite their audience to interact, because the audience is ignored, the streamers will also lose them. After all has been done and nothing change, its just our luck.  Grin

Interestingly, I have not seen this yet, is it really possible to earn Bitcoin in games? perhaps on some free demo versions, or bitcoin taps, scanty sums.
Nothing is impossible in as much effort is be put into use, so, you can, its possible to earn bitcoin in games like the guy who just did it. Most at time is good to try what others are scared to try because there might be treasure lay down there like in this case. Many have tried it without receiving donation from public but different from this guy who got the 20BTC free donation.

That definitely the first time I've seen such a large Bitcoin donation being made to a streamer on Twitch.
Best part is that they can't issue a chargeback since it's Bitcoin, it often happens with donations made through Paypal.

A couple of years ago, I remember a bunch of Minecraft streamers getting a 1 BTC donation each.
They were all playing on the same server and some random guy just decided to give all the streamers/Youtubers 1 BTC each.

Well, the guy being referred to in this topic just did though? Tongue It just depends on how you actually "earn" the bitcoin.

Old School RuneScape is alive and well, just released a mobile version in fact. It was #1 trending download for some months actually. Love the game, I wish I had gotten it sooner.

Apologies if I'm going to be a little bit off topic here, but man the hours I've spent playing that game when I was younger. Pretty much the whole day on weekends. Definitely no regrets though, this game had the biggest impact on me personally. I know it sounds cheesy as heck, but I'm honestly going to be a different person right now if it wasn't for that game. It was my introduction to markets in general, and I honestly probably wouldn't have known bitcoin if it wasn't for RuneScape; as I learned about bitcoin by finding a way to send my RuneScape gold without having a bank account and a PayPal account.

Really amazing, 20BTC wow, great, seems to be.
It's a donation and having that huge donation is totally amazing.

It's still alive and kicking I just played it for few times and didn't get addicted to it. How long it was? a decade? I didn't knew it that there was a mobile version of it right now. What do you think? start streaming with the mobile version and hopes that there will be a stranger donating you with that huge donation?  Smiley

Wow, 20 Bitcoins, it's amazing! I'm actually surprised to see that people are still playing Runescape and even broadcast how they play it. And looks that this guy have not bad audience.
I don't watch streams of gaming, so sorry for dumb question - how this donation was made? As far as I know it's not possible to make direct crypto donations on Twitch, so as I understand this guy just had his Bitcoin address in his stream?

You'll got a lots of audience if you have that aura in front of your cam, so aside from playing good giving some extra intense while playing will give entertaining experience for those people who's watching you, not everyone of us got this gift most of the time it's a build in capabilities of a person,
that particular streamer really did a great job and so lucky to have that amount of money out of his entertaining videos.

I think the supposed talent of many (not all) of all these streamers is overrated. There's tons of people out there that could be them, they just aren't, they either started too late, or fell off the wave of traffic that these sites send around depending on the algorithm, or they just get replaced by the next big hypejob.
Well, you could definitely say a lot of the streamers are overrated. But hey, if they're able to entertain their watchers for a good amount of time without them getting bored, then they're definitely doing something right whether they're overrated or not.

And yea, it's definitely going to be really difficult to hit it big now, as the more famous streamers pretty much almost have a monopoly over their respective games/categories. To hit big right now, you need to be really really good, or  to be decent and be very lucky about getting shoutout-ed by the bigger streamers.

Correct. Streaming isn't for everyone and this guy nailed it when someone donated 20 BTC to him and at least he didn't stole it somewhere. What a very lucky guy.
There's people that are really high skilled at games and aren't that much of an entertainment persona, others have that entertaining personality, many in between.
There are those professional e-sports player and other gamers who have been competing into tournaments that has great amount of money at stake. I guess this guy is just lucky though I've also watched some compilation before when there were other streamers that were sent BTC as donation.

At least the guy that received the 20 BTC isn't yet another Fortnite streamer. Don't get me wrong the game is pretty decent but it's getting out of hand, it's everywhere. At this point the hype is too much for what the game offers. I wonder if we are at peak bubble levels or it can keep growing.

I've seen this on social media and wanting to post this here in forum. Sick_nerd is twitch streamer for game 'Runescape' what I just can't see is the actual transaction(TXID) that he received it. But if its real, anyone thinking to start his own stream with old games?
