I will wrap this up and move forward. Thanks everyone for their feedbacks. I hope one day the rules should add that referrals and affiliates are only allowed if they want to track traffic from Bitcointalk. So there won’t be any misunderstanding in the future. Mod, please lock this thread. Thanks.

I’m not gonna create a new thread with links until we fix this.
There is nothing to fix

Everything seems quite clear. What exactly is so hard for you to understand?

You know what is unnecessary spam? The people who gets paid for every post they make from campaigns. Most of them just put 1 post in a thread and move on. I doubt they even look back at the thread they posted. These are the real spammers imo.
If you see a spammer on a signature campaign, then report them to the mods and the campaign manager. Their posts spam posts will be deleted, and they won't get paid. If they continue spamming, they could get banned too. Simple as that. Let's not try to complicate the obvious.

Just imagine 200 users posting ANNs of different and similar services/casinos with Affiliate links in them every passing day just because they want to earn a commission. Would you really love the general outlook of the forum, or you would be one of those folks that just spams the forum and logs out?

There won’t be because only 1 thread per website allowed.

Can you point me the post? theymos didn't said it must be official representative or owner.
This topic always enter into a debate, as there are some exception for ref links, you can actually see it on many ann threads, i found this thread not from theymos but from 1miau. This reply will give more examples of those exceptions.

There are some exceptions, where reflinks could be tolerated like if you are including it in a very informative reply / description which adds value, a site owner who wants to track traffic coming from Bitcointalk or similar where it's very clear that it's no ref-spam.

Hi, my topic got deleted twice for having affiliate links in the Gambling section and now I’m asking here. I have put 3 months of work into this casino and the plan was that I’m going to promote in the gambling section and take care of the thread. I’m not getting paid for this. It’s a community initiative.
You are not allowed to do this for your benefit, individually.

Forum rules don't allow referral link / affiliate link as you can see.
Correct, it is mentioned in the 4th point in the rules: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]
It is only allowed in signature space or in an announcement thread of a business if you are an official representative of the company in this forum. In your case, you are not a brand representative and it means you are doing this to get benefit from affiliate link, that is not allowed. It's not right to explain that you're doing this as a community effort.

I'm really surprised to see every users are disagree with @OP when I see he did nothing wrong, almost all ANN thread are using affiliate links and yet their thread didn't get deleted like @OP. Using affiliate links is wrong when you're spamming i.e. instead of posting in Gambling, Service Announcement etc, you post it in Bitcoin Discussion, Economics etc that have no correlation with your project.

It's prohibited regardless you consider your post as unnecessary spam or a quality post and that's all you need to know. While there is an exception, of you are the official representative and/or owner of the casino posting ann threads, then affiliate or referral links are allowed, that's what i know.
Can you point me the post? theymos didn't said it must be official representative or owner.

However, if you are using the forum as a publishing platform to host something really substantial and useful, selling ads in that substantial work is allowed. To be eligible for this, your post must be in a topic that you started, and your post must be substantial and long enough to make the ad seem entirely insignificant. If in doubt, ask me.

If it must be representative or owner, this thread should be deleted too 500 CASINO 🎰 $5,000 BARBAROSSA SLOTRACE ⚽️ WHEEL, CASINO, SPORTS, PLINKO BATTLE

While I am not the owner, I'll do my best to answer, until the official one arrives someday Grin

Sorry, again. Everyone saying it’s prohibited using affiliate links but where does it state? Yes, referral isn’t allowed but referral and affiliate are not exactly the same thing. Please change and add affiliate as forbidden next to referral. So we can move on? So far I haven’t break any rules and my topic keeps being deleted.

I don’t see a meaningful distinction between either. Both types of links are used with the intent to earn money by inviting users. You can promote the casino you are affiliated with but you should put the regular link in the body of your post. The affiliate link can go in your signature where it is still highly visible and you will receive enough traffic through it.

Posts are meant to encourage genuine discussion, that is why ref links are prohibited. There are less restrictions with signatures where you can express whatever you want. People can also turn off signatures so they don’t have to see them if they are really bothered by seeing advertisements.

Since posting affiliate links is prohibited in the forum as everyone knows and you are a senior member you can solve the problem by putting your site's referral link in the signature and pointing to the referral link in your signature in the thread you are using for promotion.

I think this method will work for you without causing your post to be deleted.

Yes, affiliates and referrals are two different things I don't want to discuss the difference but the scenario and the outcome when all those who are going to post on the casino board are affiliates whose intention is to make money and exploit the forum, the community wants the owners, official representative or supports to open the announcement here so they can address issues, something that an affiliate cannot do in behalf of the company.

If affiliate links are allowed then I will join as many companies and be an affiliate and beat everybody to be the first to post here and don't care if issues arise I will just recommend that they contact support.

not sure what you are expecting, there's nothing to fix, you were breaking the forum rule so the thread is deleted by the mods, as someone has mentioned above, you can put your referral link or affiliated link on your signature.

Exactly the suggestions I wanted to give OP. The Op is not wearing any commercial signature now, so it's fine you create the thread, promote the thread and the affiliate link with your signature.
Your signature and personal text is your space for advert and shilling.

You are a senior member here and he still don’t know that it is not Allowed here? Have you been reading in the forum? You would see that there are no affiliate links but only in signatures is allowed just like the other members have said.
Imagine the forum allowing different affiliate links. What would the gambling board look like.

Keep posting the links until you get banned if you don't want to be logical enough.

Affiliate links, Referral links or whatever you can name it all lead to the same problem which is unnecessary spam. You are not the only one on an affiliate program. There are some members here doing that too, but you don't see them spamming their links in the forum. Why do you think they don't?

I don’t think posting about it here in Bitcointalk is bad but using the Meta board Would not really answer or help your situation.

The mod who deleted suggest me to discuss in meta

It is forbidden to use referral links in the post body, you may only place them in your signature.
Correct, it is mentioned in the 4th point in the rules: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]

An alternative that OP can do is to use the affiliate link in the signature space. He can have someone make him a signature code and add a referral link to the casino he is promoting, that is much better and advisable. Referral links posted in the body of the post will be removed for violating the rules.

I don’t see affiliate in the 4th rules. Yes, I read it before I posted

It is forbidden to use referral links in the post body, you may only place them in your signature.

So if you just remove the affiliate codes you should be fine.

Thanks, at least you have a kind answer compare to the others.

If it's your site, why the ref links?

I post the whole thing so I can discuss about it.

If you want a good answer why I post it? To earn some money instead of working for free?

And it will be deleted more often if you continue to place affiliate links.

Affiliate links are not authorized on the forum. There are very few exceptions to this. Therefore, if your idea is to use affiliate links, the forum will not be the best option.

It has both ways, if it’s allowed then good I could earn and still helping out.

I will be very helpful being the middleman between users and casino. I have a history of dispute with online crypto casinos and fighting scammers. Check my posting history. All I want is that users are treated fairly and I’m sure I will be a great power to support the bitcointalk community. Thanks for reading.
