Definitely a panic seller. I have been in crypto world for over 7 years now, I have never been a panic seller, never really sold anything at any moment because I was scared or anything, never been part of a reason why bitcoin dropped.

However this time is different, I sold right now from "panic" but that panic wasn't related to bitcoin, it wasn't because "what if it drops further", I literally didn't cared about the price at all, I would have sold if the price was 100 dollars or 100k dollars, I would have sold all the same because I needed the money, this virus made sure that I am stuck at home and can't go outside and that means I need to spend money constantly to restock my shelves and always be ready for the worse for a day when I may not be able to go out.

Wish for the rain? Then deal with the mud too.
Quite close to being a panic seller once, buddy. But something strikes my head quickly that I realized to behave in times like this in think clear if it will be benefiting me - my reckless actions. I may say, I am 2 and 3, up until now I am holding my assets tight it looks easy for me since I don't really have anything to spend with. It was the profit that I could get, is what I am still thinking now. For number 3 well, I invest quite a little back when market is at $4k, and I am still thinking if it would be best to invest now as well, still thinking about it.

while sometimes i felt like i am just late to sell High ?but in the end all i can do is buy Low so yeah maybe i can consider myself like you.

i can afford just sitting and not looking for the market prices specially when this kind of dumps happening .
maybe Hodlers are just like this ?

I made a point of making a note of when I would've considered selling to buy back.
what does it mean?making a note?sorry i think i missed something.
Every single time it would've been a total disaster. I took that as a sign to stay put and do nothing until the price comes to me rather myself seeking it out and failing.
i can feel you there, thats why i am always keeping myself ready in any circumstances and product of my actions.
Holding can suck. It's boring. However it gives you a much higher chance of getting you there in the end which much less scope for making a balls up.
Yups and it is better waiting even longer than looking for nothing at all,and it is a game of who can afford to take a long ride than those boring type of people.

Seem like I belong to be a brave holder when this situation come and also to meet this situation I will be brave holder as well. I am not aware to be a trader because I will find many risk and I can't solve the problem because in an analytical manner I am not a trader. I will be traded if I found an information that I think that will really help bitcoin/altcoin price are going up and I will sell them when I got profit.

I’m just holding my bitcoin and buy when I see a good opportunity. There a lot of emotions in the market right now, not just here but also in stock market, people are panicking and don’t know what to do after the announce of global recession by the IMF. Well, I’d rather wait for the best price again than to sell and make no money.

i don't think i can be categorized in any of the groups you mentioned. for example the closest would be the holder group but i do not believe in the potential of cryptocurrencies, i only believe in potential of bitcoin that is why  the only thing i own is bitcoin and i have only traded altcoins during their pump and dumps and never held any any longer than i should.
besides i don't just "hodl", i have been making an investment and at the same time i have been spending bitcoin, earning bitcoin as much as i can because i still see it as a currency first and an investment second.

I see. So your in on Satoshi Followers based on the list. People who are using, spending, and make utilized of bitcoin cryptocurrency. You mentioned you viewed it as currency right, maybe your in Country where bitcoin is heavily used and accepted as you can solely described it as currency already. Investment wise, bitcoin is the only good for such term. Anyway, I think I am needed to add more categories where people should be in.

actually i haven't found that many places where bitcoin is accepted as payment, in fact to this day i have only found a handful of them in my country. but that still doesn't change my mind though. bitcoin being a currency is more of a principle to me. it doesn't matter if there isn't that many places accepting it as long as the number is growing (increasing adoption) which is true these days as i keep seeing more people getting in.

I might go with the brave hodlers since it is what I always did even if the market is in very bottom. Bitcoin is more valuable than dumping it with a few dollars just because it's dropping. An investment should profit in the long run not losing it just like some other people who always chase their losses when they started to realize that their choices is not right.

Trading warrior/ Bottom seeker.

I already anticipated that there would be panic sell possibly on this pandemic situation but i cant deny that i have experienced some panic when the price continuously dumped down to 4k

but instead on panic selling of my holdings i do risk on cashing in more to buy those cheap coins and it did paid off for weeks time since we know the price had recovered and staying up current on 6k or mostly
even hitting 7k.

In a short time i do make some profit and this is just a matter of risk taking.

wow its nice to hear that you insist to take the risk and follow what your heart says , now your enjoying the benfit althought its not really big because the increase was only small but that is still a profit  . small profit looks verry big to you when you know that it was not easy and you gone thru hard times or hard decision  before you got it  . never experienced to be a bottom seeker but i can call myself as a warior because im still fighting for my hard life , i know lifes not easy but i think im one of those who experience hardships most of the times  .

I'm the hodler. I'm only trading altcoins but with Bitcoin it's only the hodl strategy for me.

I don't care much about alts and play around with them. Sometimes I gain some sometimes I lose some but it's entertainment just like gambling. With Bitcoin it's different because this thing has already paid all my bills. I got some coins in 2016 and spent less than a few hundred for what now is worth 6 thousand.

You don't throw away an investment that keeps on giving.

Bottom seeker, no doubt.
I had my time as a "brave holder". Today I'm more inclined to use reason than just light a candle and pray like they do.

I did agree with Tone Vays that $3.8k have 90% chance of being the bottom. However, he didn't factored into his speculation what is happening behind the global hysteria. So, the other 10% chance is much more likely to happen, and for this reason I'm not buying anything. Any other virus released will result in another crash.

One thing that might make bitcoin go up is if the US government outlaw the buyback in their stock exchanges. Without a buyback function available, those investors might run to bitcoin, which not only allow for buybacks freely, but also dont have circuit breakers. However, this is a two-edged blade, and bitcoin will go down much faster than up. If it goes up, though, I'm going to sell the 2019 DCA coins. DCA proved to be a stupid strategy, which leads to losses in a medium term (3 to 5 years). It only works in a bull market.

I hope I am in the Brave holders type but there are times that I would need to sell.
Panic also streams in my blood and I will have to do it to not lose more.
But I also promised  myself I need to get it all back once the price becomes cheaper.

I am not yet in the case to hoard things since I already got my stocks so I won't need to sell.
Something like a holder but when necessity strikes then I will sell. At the right price of course.  Grin (the right price for me is better than this 6k)

Maybe I called myself as a holder but not a Brave Holder as well, it can be just a "holder and Seller".

I'm not affected by the current situation and I don't want to think how bad it is cause it for sure that it will mentally affect our minds and could lead to panic selling. Well, that a thing it should and I just consider this as a normal day even though we saw a huge market drop.

Not unless you are hodling Bitcoin still at a gain I wouldn't say that they are one of the wiser bunch of people in the crypto market. If you are hodling Bitcion in your portfolio at a loss now it only means that you are stuck with Bitcoin and have lose the opportunity to profit or at least short it before the bloodbath started, they are close to panic sellers who really don't have any strategies left but to hodly since they don't have any exit plans in place in times like this.

@cryptoaddictchie I’m and always will be a brave holder as I have purchased bitcoins at various price ranges, and now I have a sick average hence I don’t need to indulge in panic sales. @Harlot for those people you have mentioned I would recommend them to buy bitcoins whenever it falls, and hodl it for the long term to get more profits from it.

I'm on the bottom seeker side, though I don't really consider myself wise. I exited the market when BTC hit $10k cause I really needed all the funds I could get for a certain project of mine. Then the virus panic spread and our place got quarantined so I couldn't really do much about it. Went and visited the market and saw a deep dive made by the BTC, so I said to myself, heck why not. A better name would probably lazy seeker tbh, cause my mindset was pretty simple. The market price was low? Ok time to enter again easy.

I did put brave to describe how scary to convert into fiat right now. Yes I did have some bitcoin but I am aiming for a good profits, and even Im at loss there is no point to sell right? It doeant mean I dont have much strategy cause sometime the best move limits you to the only one and thats holding. Maybe I include this one but I sell all coins for cut loss, I must do that because still don't have concrete until when bitcoin will dump?. I have plan and must follow it, from there I can evaluate and create better action. Panic yes because suddenly my stop loss reached without warning. Wait and see is my best strategy right now, until bitcoin pump again I must find alternative income, wish me luck.

I hope people who did panic learnt something along the way. It could of course be temporary and there'll be much more plunging to come but there were quite a few people calling total death and look where it's at now. When moves are that violent and volume is that high it's a signal of it being a seizure not a death.

So in this situation I'll do these ways (investing and trading), you are right I'll be a brave holder when the crash came. Because I will sell it I'll be in lose situation, I bought bitcoin in the early at this year and I intend to sell time at the end of this year. Seem like the halving event is really tempting me so as I sold my old motorcycle to buy bitcoin. And the second thing I'll do trade at least once a week, I'm not daily trader because I have work in my real live so I couldn't manage if I do day trading.

Im lacking another category for the both of you but what to called it?
Opportunists?  Cynics?  Poverty-stricken wannabe cryptogazillionaires?  I can only speak for myself and not gentlemand, of course.

Just as an aside, I started watching the news--that's something I haven't done in years, and I don't think I've suffered as a human being for being out of the loop on things.  This thing seems to be getting worse every day, both the spread of the virus and people's reaction to everything.  I'm not sure which is worse.  Gotta tell you, though, the effect on the economy is going to be very pronounced.  I'm actually surprised bitcoin didn't stay below $5k (although it could still get there).

Edit:  Oh, and I watch the news stories on Youtube since I don't have a TV, and wouldn't you know that all the search results point to mainstream media reports and practically none of them are videos to educate people about the virus.  It would be nice if all the news wasn't about what the politicians are doing.  I'd love to see someone drop some science on the populace, because that might alleviate some of the fears people have.

I'm exactly same as you are. Especially when it comes to news and mainstream. Don't have a tv for a decade now and I only follow things that really are of interest of me. Youtube has become a tool for creating a narrative for "online people" that plugged out of classic mainstream media and it is harder to find content that is not polluted or doctored.

Regarding categories I would say that I am an opportunist. I try to buy low, not chasing bottom and playing mid-long term game mostly.

I constantly adhered to the strategy thanks to which I invested a certain part of my monthly Bitcoin income and Ethereum on a monthly basis.  This month is no exception for me either, but taking into account the current cryptocurrency price indicators, I have increased the amount of capital that I can allocate for investing in cryptocurrency this month.  In addition, I believe that the upcoming halving in any case will improve the performance of the cryptocurrency market, despite the current drop in prices, which in my opinion is an artificial manipulation.

From my own part, i dont you fall into any of the categories listed by the OP because you sold you coins due to something very important to you which also seem to be your number priority but you also need to put things into calculation by atleast keeping some portion for future purpose because there might be not other chance to buy coins like this current price range.

I dont think its wise to get your income from bounty and sell your asset when you needed funds. Im not saying its bad but this area is well known for volatility. Peoppe often regret when their move is bad during the peak they dont sell their asset and will sell when the time isnt appropriate.

I will be a brave holders crew. Cause I am forced to hold due to market crash but I intend to be wise shopper if only I have funds to spare.

one part "brave hodler" and one part "wise shopper" here.

i did dump and rebuy a few times during the chaos (can't ignore opportunities like that!) but something like 80-90% of my coins are in cold storage. my net worth on paper took a massive shit.

anybody manage to buy the blood? i bought 1 BTC near $4k and another today around $5k. my seemingly unpopular opinion: most of yesterday's dump is gonna be fully retraced, and panic sellers who didn't buy back are gonna be kicking themselves.

that doesn't mean we're going right back to $10k or anything, but i predict that the worst is over and the bottom has been set. i don't think sellers have the power to reach the $3000s again. but by all means, everyone should place their bets........

those with balls of steel buying and holding right now will probably be greatly rewarded later this year.

or, maybe bitcoin is dying. we'll only know for sure once the dust settles. place your bets, gentlemen.

I would not call it a brave holders, but a lazy holder. You simply dont need to do nothing. Nor sell, nor buy nor pay taxes.

It was long ago obvious at least tome, we will fall in huge recession. So if I would be a trader I would sell weeks ago, but then would be question when I would buy back. I am pretty sure I would not wait until even close to perfect moment. So I should not be so sorry not to trade even when I am positive price will decrease. Profits are always way lower then maximum profits.  Not to  mention there was still chance I was wrong as I was so many times in past.  And If I would trade on all my calls, then would probably have no more coins to worry about them now. I'm not relaxing, I'm glued to the live charts right now (even trying to trade a little bit), but this isn't my first rodeo, so I'm not completely devastated like the people who experience a crash like this for the first time.

I like this one. Added on my list.

I'm actually surprised bitcoin didn't stay below $5k (although it could still get there).
Damn.. If this will happened, I could had added another category called: NCOV VICTIMS

Aside to OP,  I think panic sellers woulndt blow any whistle here to admit but probably none of them are active here or have courage to say so.

Honestly, I am one of those brave hodlers that i don't want to sell all of my cryptocurrencies while we are facing the bear market because i don't want to have any regrets in the future, when the market suddenly improves it's price. And it is pretty normal for the crypto market to have ups and downs due to it's volatility, that is why we should learn to have patience for us to maintain our long term investment.

Am I a brave hodler if my mindset is to maintain a long term investment even there are downfalls in the market?

Panic selling is sometimes considered as a loss. The fact that you take it as a financial loss due to the drop in the market then it's a loss. We should always hope for changes or recovery in the market and take risks to gain profit. Panic selling is just the same with short term investments, there's no difference between those.

I'm on the holding side but I can't say I'm brave enough. Just a holder I guess. Although it's very disturbing to see how this current situation of the coronavirus is affecting every market, I still keep my positivity and I know that if this issue gets solved, everything will be back to its normal way even the crypto market or we can see an uprising market.

If we let our emotions take place in this situation, we will just panic and it won't do anything good especially with the pandemic. And if you're really a good investor, panic selling is not a thing for you because you are aware of how the market move. So instead of worrying and panicking, it's better to remain calm, look at the positive side, and take this opportunity to invest more. Since Bitcoin price went down, we have the opportunity to buy more Bitcoin as much as we can so when the time comes that everything went back to normal, it will be a win situation to us.

We just need to wait patiently and keep on holding our cryptocurrencies.

Technically speaking I can consider my self as a brave holder at this moment while this pandemic decease has been touched the emotions of holders and make them panic and sell. Yes, I'm a brave holder but sometimes lack Bitcoin to hold because I usually convert to fiat when I needed it most and that's my problem (at this case, I can't call my self a traders warrior). I knew most traders now had been feel panic selling and it might the cause of this drastically moving down of the price of Bitcoin. Let's help them to realize that it won't help the market and they should be a brave holder.

These are the people who sold their coins in spite of tragic losses to save some of their asset value. Definitely many would deny they belong to this group.

Brave hodlers

So Im assume both of you @gentlemand and the @The Pharmacist have the same feeling towards this and most likely in the same hub. But based on your reaction it seems, Im lacking another category for the both of you but what to called it? Hmmmm... Im started the terms but I am open for suggestion.  Grin Grin feel free if you wouldnt mind.

I suppose I would technically be a brave holder but there's no braveness involved.

My preference is to be categorised as - Ice Queen.

Anyone who's seen 2014/15 should be the same by now but we're all endlessly diverse.

Halfwits!  Stupid coon shits! Reference: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Me, I'm a chronic hard-on type of guy when markets start going haywire like this.  However this time I must confess that I'm impotent, since my bank account is not treating me well and thus I have no funds to buy bitcoin, stocks, or anything else that's taken a hit.  This is why it's always good to have a cash reserve.

Also: I haven't sold anything during this panic.  I'm not starving to death and I don't think I'm going to have to retreat to the bunker anytime soon, so I didn't need to free up funds for that.  Tomorrow I'm expecting a zombie apocalypse due to a mutation of COVID-19, so it's not going to matter anyway.  Bring it on, baby!

I'm a do nothing and feel nothing.

Anyone surprised by the shit of the millennium when the rest of the world is doing the exact same thing is a bit unusual in my opinion. I would've been seriously weirded out if it hadn't done that.
