Yes, also Argentina's official conversion rate is rigged at an artificial rate that makes using the BTC rail to get money in attractive to the tune of ~ 30 to 40% more purchasing power

Argentina is ripe ground for Bitcoin.
With a history of fiscal mismanagement, high inflation and sovereign defaults, people would naturally look up to an independent currency.

Glad to know that bitcoin has done some part in saving Uber in Argentina. However, it will be great if Uber can accept bitcoin directly and in other countries. Both are disruptive in nature so they are a great match!

The same thing happened with Backpage and we saw a huge influx of new adopters because of that.... It's just a pity that Bitcoin is used as the fall guy, when things goes wrong in a country. Every time

Bitcoin is used to rectify bad decisions by credit card companies, we get the bad rap. The Argentinian people should embrace the technology as the disruptive technology that opens the doors, where

others have closed it.  Grin

In Argentina, Bitcoin is a popular phenomenon, and on July 3, the cryptocurrency saved the country’s Uber service thanks to a collaboration with Xapo. The Argentine government has had issues and ongoing arguments with Uber for quite some time. This comes to light as many jurisdictions around the world have given the company problems. Now, in the city of Buenos Aires, the local officials gave instructions to credit card companies to stop associating with the company’s operations. The courts say Uber does not meet the legal standards to provide the Argentine public with transportation services. BTCBTC Grin
