dam no big fights until the 20th of August.

UFC Fight Night: Rodríguez vs. Caceres   Aug 6, 2016   Vivint Smart Home Arena   Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.

as a mini fight card but cant wait for Diaz vs Mcgregor 2

This is the only fight I want to see right now & I mean that, including any fight in any sport. This is the big one. Shame we have to wait a while still.

I do not think Woodley can dictate fights. He is not popular enough unlike Connor Mcgregor. But even popularity is nothing against Dana White. Look at what happened to Connor Mcgregor. He was pulled out by Dana White because Connor thinks the UFC needs him more. Dana proved that no one fighter dictates in the UFC.

being a champion he can decide which fight to take, Dana pulled Connor Mcgregor from UFC 200 simply because he was demanding more power which could affect the brand UFC in the later stage because more fighters will demand these sort of power, and more over all the fighters were complaining about the leverage Mcgregor is getting,so Dana had to pull the trigger somewhere

Karolina Kowalkiewicz defeats Rose Namajunas by split decision. This is the fight that cost me a huge night. I hit 5-2 but that rose fight
was pretty big odds and losing that one basically washed out what coulda been a big night. Looking forward to bruce leroy fight coming.

I haven't watched the fight yet but I read the results.  Just wow, I didn't expect this finishing in the 1st round.  And what's up with Woodley calling out Nick Diaz and GSP after the fight?

Yes woodley wants money fights now,he is the champ now.so he can dictate things a bit, Nick will be returning soon after his suspension, and GSP is rumored for a long time to make a return to the octagon for super fights only,he is not interested in the belt anymore ,thats the truth.he made so much money that he doesnt need to fight anymore Grin .

To be frank i dont know how they will keep Khabib Nurmagomedov from the title shot as Eddie Alverez is not interested in fighting him,Khabib is undefeated with 23 wins, which is in fact a record in itself and then there is Tony Ferguson waiting for the shot. Same situation with Woodley, he doesnt want to fight Stephen Thompson and in my opinion he is the future champ

I have a question. What do you think of a Woodley versus Stephen Thompson fight? Many are saying that Thompson will win in that fight. From what we saw in Woodley's fight with Lawler I can say that Thompson will have a hard time.

Am I the only one here who thinks that McGregor us over hyped?  I think the fight is closer than we think and there's definitely value on Nate Diaz.  In the first fight Diaz fought in 2 weeks notice (I think) and wasn't fully prepared to take on Connor.  This time around, a fully motivated Nate could win this fight easily.
McGregor is good with the mic, his antics can make his opponents loose focus but in the kind of Nate Diaz, Nate is focused and he played along with all the antics of Connor McGregor and in the end McGregor suffered because according to him instead of training, UFC wants to to do a world tour to promote the fight which I think is just an excuse for his lost.

Wow, so many underdogs win on UFC 201. HYPE for UFC 202, Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 2. For this match i'm sure Conor McGregor will win back and revenge his lose.

So many unexpected result on UFC 201. So many underdogs win on this UC 201 and boom, Woodley win with 1 big punch in the very first round.
Jesus! Mostly underdogs won yesterday Roll Eyes
What are the oodds of this happening in all most all major sports on the same day Huh
Those who are freaks when placing their bets got paid yesterday BIG TIME!  Grin

I know some will be shocked about the fights but I don't know why, reality check they all fighters trained hardly for the battle. Never underestimate your opponent. Not expecting that at all. I was hoping for a war but I figured it wouldn't go the distance between Lawler and Woodley! By the way Congratulations to Woodley.

Lawler vs Woodley really cost me so much, i bet on Lawler and fuck it. Never expected Lawler easily get knockout in the 1st round by Woodley, i thought Lawler will win this.

Won my bet with Karolina Kowalkiewicz, lucky for me i didnt place a bet on Lawler because he is used to take punishments early on and with the brawl he had in his past few fights its a matter of time his chin gives way.but i expected Lawler to win, the real bumer was Matt Brown lost to Jake in the first round,i was betting on Matt to win.

lessons learned :never to bet on MMA  Grin ,i won 4 bets yesterday on boxing matches which is more predictable  Wink

Thanks Woodely for the win that almost doubled my bet but its just a few satoshis, should have maxed my bet but I have 2nd thoughts with the ability of Woodley for pull a win over Lawler. i under estimated his stand up game. Anyway, let's wait for the findings of USADA after a few days if any of the fighters passed the doping test.

I do not what is going on lately but the underdogs have been winning. Will Lawler be another victim of this? I am predicting yes. Woodley will be very explosive and take advantage of Lawler's slow start.

It could happen easy. I just watched the prelims where they previewed the fight and woodley throws mean punches. I think woodley is going to have to finish
it fast though. If lawler gets it past round 2/3 then lawler will win.  So I'm playing woodley and under but lawler and over isnt a bad play either cause both are
big odds.

boooooooom cha ching!!!!!!!!

wow that was fast. Lawler looked so much smaller and actually looked intimidated. I will take the big under / underdog parlay!!!  pretty boring set of fights up til that point so the ufc
needed that finish

Ryan Benoit is a punk with his fighting after the bell.

They need to do something about him. He did it even worse to Pettis
when he kept going even after the ref was yelling to stop.

Serrano got a bunch of slam take downs but benoit was better on his feet.

Benoit deserved to win but he's a jerk and was rooting against him.

That is easy money if you put a fair amount on Lawler to win.
I might put 100 mbtc on him to win and double my bitcoin back. He looks much more polished than Woodley does.

Robbie Lawler vs Tyron Woodley for this fight I will go with Robbie Lawler, I think Tyron Woodley not deserve to win this match because Robbie Lawler is so much talented and his style is more better, even so many people are sure about Tyron Woodley but personally I have my bet on Robbie Lawler.

He's a heavy hitter, but he's never been drug into deep water like you know how to drag someone in. He'll gas and then it's punch face and lights out. Get him Rob!!!I'm rooting for ya Robbie smash him back down the ladder!

Robbie Lawler  vs.  Tyron Woodley => bet for  Tyron Woodley

Tyron Woodley does not deserve this title shot at this moment.i know why you think woodley will win this match since the UFC is unpredictable and the titles are changing hands quite often,Stephen Thompson was the rightful person to get that title shot.Robbie Lawler will win this match,

Rose namajunas is a good fighter but i like karolina, she is a good fighter and i wish she wins.it will be a really close fight for sure.

the rest of the card,i dont see any other interesting fights

I think two years ago Woodley was on his way to a title shot via a fight vs Hendricks.  The winner of that match would fight the champ.  Not sure about the accuracy of my statement but the point is Woodley was on his way but Hendricks backed out due to being overweight so Woodley lost an opportunity there.  He waited for over a year for an opportunity for a title fight.  So when you say he's not deserving for this shot at the title, I think he is.

Edit:  Line movement again on Woodley.  Down to +135 now.
i will explain ,his win over carlos condit, during the match carlos condit's knee buckled and he could not even stand,it all started with a kick i accepted that.in his very next match Rory macdonald beat him and he was supposed to meet hector Lombard,a match up i was looking but was replaced by  Dong Hyun Kim,woodley won that match, then he faced Kelvin Gastelum and Woodley won by split decision and he was supposed to fight Johny Hendricks at UFC 192,  Johny Hendricks pulled out of the fight due to complications due to weight cutting and then he got the title shot,

if you look at Stephen Thompson he was very much deserving a title shot and i believe he will be the future champion..he is unstoppable at the moment, and on a seven fight win streak. this is the reason i said Woodley doesnt deserve ahead of thomson at this moment

Yes. This might be an upset. I like Lawler but I feel Woodley will win. He will use leg kicks to weaken Lawler's mobility and then he will be easy to punch. We have not seen Woodley fight in a long time so it will be possible that he has changed his style.

I will go for Woodley as well, but I'm afraid that if the match lasts to long he will just get tired and will start exposing himself and eventually lose.

Ed Herman +160 intrigues me. I really think that line should be closer
to pick.

Woodley also has the ground game to grind out a win vs a fighter out of
his prime and +160 on him may be a must play also.

Haven't decided yet but underdogs are looking like the smart way to go
so far.

Lawler vs Woodley, the only interesting card on UFC 201. I think this match will go 5 round and ended with split decision or unanimous decision. Both fighters are good.

I doubt this will reach the 5th round.  Woodley is known to have bad cardio.  By the 4th round I think Woodly would gas himself out and be vulnerable to a relentless barrage from Lawler.

In this fight I predict that it won't last the usual 5 rounds with Lawler. I really feel that the strategy Woodley would use is to rush Lawler and knock him out with strikes. My question is does Lawler have a sturdy chin? Can he take the power right hand punch of Tyron?

Robbie Lawler for sure! love love watching his fights, bloody, balls to the wall man getting it done. Those are my most favorite fights, no smothering, laying on top of you just toe to toe, kicks, left, right hooks upper cuts, elbows!! wow getting a little over excited

yup love robbie fights i got to watch him fight live alot when he was fighting for icon sport/rumble on the rock.

It's going to be a nasty, awesome bloodbath! Woodley is no joke and deserves the shot! He's a real threat..And Lawlor is well. Both fighters are wicked good strikers and exciting fighters! When Condit knocks out Maia. He should get the winner of this Rumble!

I'm thinking the same thing because I think Woodley could have the edge on the first three rounds.  He's a freak of nature.  His naturally very athletic and could knock Lawler out given the opportunity.  But I've seen Lawler take punches though.

Anyway, I would like to know your assesment on Woodley vs Lawler.  What advantage does Woodley have?
Woodley indeed is athletic and may have the chance to pull an upset on this fight while Lawler is the kind of fighter who will continue to slug it out with his opponent even if he is bloodied. After watching some videos of Woodley, it made me wonder why the bookies give him that odds and sided with Lawler instead. Now i'm thinking of staking some with Woodley in case he wins.

Im goona go for Robbie Lawler. He's the cuurent welterweight champion with a big heart. Plus the experience, suffered from many loss but still able to be at the top. And from that, he became my idol. Woodley is dangerous. Lawler should be very careful about him but i guess Lawler has more striking and accuracy. I think this a good fight.

For UFC betting's sake.  This is the gambling section right?  There are sports books that offer UFC betting unless I really missed something.  I tried to make my own OP with all the pictures and info but I saw that PuertoRican's is much better.  So I asked permission and he agreed as long as I don't claim that I made it myself.

So back to UFC.  Does anyone think Woodley has the edge on the first three rounds?  If the odds get a little better, I might put a little money on him.  Expecting that to happen as the fight nears when everyone bets on Lawler.
Tyron Woodley last won at UFC 183 that was way back Jan 31 2015 so that 1 year and 7 months ago over Kelvin Gastelum and thats through split decision. Looking at Tyron Woodley's fight history, it's not really impressive and to think he will fight someone who last fought Jan 2 2016 at UFC 195 and experienced last loss at UFC 171 March 15 2015. momentum is on the side of Robbie Lawler on this one.

Other

- A UFC Flyweight Championship bout between current champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Wilson Reis was expected to serve as the co-main event. However on July 8, it was announced that Johnson pulled out due to an undisclosed injury and the bout was postponed. Reis was expected to remain on the card against promotional newcomer Sean Santella, but a few days later Santella announced the bout was scrapped because the UFC said "he needed to get more medicals done and there wasn't enough time". In turn, Reis will now face Hector Sandoval.

- Claudio Silva was expected to face Siyar Bahadurzada at the event. However on June 16, Silva pulled out due to injury and was replaced by Jorge Masvidal. In turn, Bahadurzada pulled out of the bout on July 12 citing an illness and was replaced by The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom winner Ross Pearson.
