The main event was a scam fight from Dana's storyboard to make it appear that the UFC has made history by making Daniel Cormier the double champion who defended 2 titles.

Jon Jones should win this December and challenge Daniel for the heavyweight championship and then we will know who the true champion is.

Check out the confidence on this guy.  I'm telling you guys...  Adesanya could be the sh*t in the UFC in a year or so.  He wants an Aussie vs Kiwi battle for the belt.  Lmao.  Cheesy

The MW champ is an Aussie while Adesanya resides in NZ in case you guys didn't know.  Pretty interesting if that fight happens.  MW is kinda boring as of late with no solid contenders.

As I had expected...  Adesanya showed he's on another level by the effortless disposal of Brunson.  I'll be following this guy more closely.  I hope to see him fight Rockhold or Romero next.  Wink

And Weidman vs Jacare was awesome.  I wish you guys watch more of the UFC, not just McGregor.  Lol.

Here are the results of the event.

^  Is Brunson's wrestling really that good?  I don't think we've seen enough of it as of late to be considered a threat against Adesanya.  I think Adesanya will finish Brunson ITD.

And thanks for the notes.  Smiley

You can see Derek Brunson slamming Yoel Romero twice here in their fight highlights. The only person to do that to Yoel in MMA. Brunson won rounds 1 and 2. Yoel needed a finish to win that fight & he got it. Also notice the dark spot on the rear of Yoel's shorts? He pooped himself in that fight for whatever reason.

Brunson vs Romero Fight Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XrgnBowWDk

Its hard to say how good of a wrestler Brunson is, now. That fight happened back in 2014 when Brunson was still training out of Greg Jackson's MMA gym. These days Brunson started his own MMA gym and his sparring partners and training might not be as good. That 2014 fight might also have been before Yoel Romero joined American Top Team. His training and preparation might not have been as good as it is now.

Brunson's chin might be gone the way Jacare finished him so easily. That could make Adesanya's job easier....

I think Brunson was KO'd by Romero and lost that fight.  There's the match vs Whitaker too, Brunson was the favorite but was TKO'd.  And there could be a couple more where he lost thru KO/TKO.  So yeah...  I can't see how somebody as chinny as him wins vs somebody as good as Adesanya.

Anyway here are the results of the weigh ins.

This fight is a fun fight but it's probably not worth it staying up until late in the morning if you are overseas to be frank. Im not that interested on it myself. As a casual fan I only know about the guys in the main card and it's such an uneven fight. The Beast has honestly no realistic chance to win against Cormier. Cormier is an olympic elite wrestler and striking wise he has shown already that he can known huge men like Bigfoot Silva and recently Stipe Mioccic a guy that resembles some sort of viking. Both smoked with a nice overhand. This guy has massive power at HW level. The Beast is sure scary but without accuracy and stamina I don't think he can beat DC. I give it 1 in 100 chances for The Beast to land that massive KO torpedo on DC's skull, other than that it's over. At least he will enjoy unlimited Popeyes.

I expect Brock Lesnar to come up on stage again to do the whole show thing and call out DC, that will be fun. Then we'll have DC vs Jon Jones which I hope DC wins because I can't stand Jones. That assuming that Jones wins Gustaffson which I doubt.

Today I watched a video where Dana White had to tell cormier he didn't get the popeyes deal and derrick got it instead. Now for those of you who do not know popeyes is a chicken franchise like KFC and based in louisiana where cormier is originally from, Cormier really really loves popeyes and even had a funny commercial like video he made himself about popeyes, he really wanted to get sponsorship from them. However lewis talked about how he humiliated popeyes with that video and popeyes deserves better and he wants to get sponsorship from them too. Now that popeyes decided with lewis this fight is literally not just about the fight but also about Popeyes and if they selected the wrong person. Cormier will attack with whatever he has in his tank because he is mad about not getting the sponsorship plus the free for life eating there.

Heavyweights are always fun to watch, normally it is known that smaller fighters can usually fight for a long time and usually ends up in decision (maybe not so much in UFC) but when it is a heavyweight fight it is almost certain that the fight will end with either a knock out or a tap out.

Cormier is one of the longest running heavyweight great in the UFC world with 22 fights under his belt so far. Derrick Lewis is another beast who has fought 26 times. These are not new people who came into the ring from some other place, this is the fight to watch. I know everyone loves to check out Conor or Khabib or whoever lately but honestly this fight will be ten times more fun to watch than that media show.

I would prefer two people who pound each other in the face for a fight and than keep going their lives like it was just business than that mess Conor and Khabib had.

Notes.

--Montel Jackson had a standout wrestling career & aspirations to wrestle in the olympics. Then wrestling was canceled as an olympic sport. He ended up doing MMA instead.

--Sijara Eubanks vs Roxanne Modafferi is a rematch. They both fought in The Ultimate Fighter season 26, back in 2017, with Eubanks emerging the winner. Judges scored it 30-27 Eubanks but it was a close fight with Sijara edging a lot of the scrambles with her athleticism & superior strength. Modafferi has improved since then but has she improved enough to defeat Eubanks?

--Derek Brunson showed he can wrestle on what looked to be the same level as Yoel Romero when they fought back in 2014. Brunson is one of the best wrestlers in the 185 lb division and if he tries to take Adesanya down, it will be the toughest test Adesanya has yet faced in terms of how solid his takedown defense is.

--Julio Arce has 5 wins via submission and only 2 wins via KO/TKO. He is a champion in kickboxing and boxing and his stand up could well be better than his grappling. The question mark with him could be his wrestling.

--Shane Burgos, Lyman Good and Julio Arce are all fighting out of Team Tiger Schulmann. Without a doubt one of the better MMA gyms competing in the UFC with one of the best win/loss records. Jimmie Rivera is another of their fighters currently competing in the UFC.

Anyway, here are some vids to get you guys into the event.  Bet or no bet, the main and co main events are decent enough to make me get the PPV.  Weidman vs Jacare is intruiging imo.
