Keep in mind that they are fighters not entertainers. Their main focus or goal is to win and not to please the crowd. If they knocked out the other fighter then they get the job done. Even if I am on their shoes, why wait until the 3rd round to knock my opponent down if I can do it now. just 1 lucky punch from anyone can change the entire story of this fight so why take chances just to entertain the crowd. It's UFC not WWE.

They may be fighters but the entertainment factor is forced upon them by the UFC management. Remember UFC 229? There was a lot of action outside the cage, as Dana White played a lot of dirty tricks to keep the fight in the media headlines. Everything staged.

After Ngannou's latest performance, Dana White was extremely pissed off at how both guys basically didn't throw a single punch for the duration of the fight. It must have been the most boring fight ever. Very disappointing to see Ngannou basically on shock that night, unable to get anything done.

Win draw or lose, if Ngannou isn't able to put on a good show tonight and delivers another snorefest, I think Dana White is going to fire him and give up on him being a HW prospect.

Wtf do you mean 'tonight'?  This event happened last week.  Lol.  Grin

Anyway Ngannou won via TKO in the first round which puts him back for a title shot if he wins his next match.

Well.. I wouldn't say that it was boring, but at the same time I would not say that it was the best UFC match that I ever watched. Francis Ngannou deserved the victory... but he didn't looked like he is 100% fit.

^  Wouldn't mind watching a rematch between those two actually.  I think Ngannou will win which will put Miocic's hopes to get another shot at the title in doubt...  It could even be over for him imho.

And it looks like Ngannou's striking got better.  Smiley

Dana's new storyboard for the heavyweight division might be a rematch for Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic. I reckon the winner will take him back on the road to fight for a championship.

Made two small 'impulsive' bets for the event...  On Overeem (already won) and Ngannou.  I think Ngannou could KO Blaydes within two rounds imo.

Edit:  Yup.  Wink

Notes.

--This card is hosted in beijing china and will start around 10 hours later than normal.

--This will be Rashad Coulter's 1st fight @ 205 lbs. Previously he competed as a heavyweight.

--Yadong "The Terminator" Song could be a future prospect. Tough fighter lives up to his name, could be why he's on the main card despite not having many fights in the UFC.

--Not certain why Alistair Overeem is a betting underdog here. There were calls for Alistair to retire awhile ago. Some said he should retire after being knocked out so many times throughout his career. It is possible those losses and the damage he absorbed has caught up to Overeem. Not 100% certain what the reasoning behind the line is.

Wish I had more info, I don't recognise many names on the card which makes it hard to say anything about them.

Main event could be tough to call. Its hard for me to pick sides knowing what a freak athlete Ngannou is. Heavyweight fights can be like rolling a dice. Whoever lands the 1st solid punch can conceivably win the fight, even against a more skilled opponent.

I think that Curtis Blaydes has the advantage with this one especially that he is out for revenge against the man where he first loss, and that match was a depressing one for Blaydes as the doctor didn't even let him continue to the final round. On the other hand Francis Ngannou is coming from 2 straight losses and the most recent one made it look boring for a lot of people even other UFC fighers are laughing. Blaydes here will surely be the favorite for the upcoming match in 141.

Yup...  But no way Blaydes was gonna win the match with one eye even if they continued.  Lol.  And I have Ngannou slightly leading after two rounds.

Anyway here's the tape of their first match.

I can say that both are a heavy hitter and have the potential to really win the fight, Ngannou on their last fight said that Blaydes is a wrestler and good at a takedown but he can prove that he is good at submission than Blaydes and in their last fight Ngannou won the fight because the doctors stop the fight of Blaydes closed eye problem, But in my opinion that even though Ngannou won the last fight Curtis Blaydes is pretty determined to win their next fight and he got the Bodybuild to sure this win is for him.

I just checked Nitrogensports and the odds on this fight is as follows. I just checked the Main event only.

Curtis Blaydes -236 vs.  Francis Ngannou +205
Alistair Overeem +114 vs. Sergey Pavlovich -128
Song Yadong -524 vs.  Vince Morales +400
Li Jingliang -182 vs.  David Zawada +160

I'm surprised to see Alistair Overeem not the favorite on this fight. Even the odds are against Francis Ngannou, I still see he can pull a win on this fight just like his previous fight.
