Based from the write ups Nelson is being reprimanded for doing that stunt with the referee. He maybe write that the fight should have been stopped after Silva goes down to the canvas but referees see those kind of action inside the octagon in a different way, sometimes those fallen fighters can still recover and maybe that's what the referee is looking waiting.
The referee John McCarthy would have stopped the fight earlier ,it was just a push kick and nothing else,nelson had a bad blood with Mccarthy from his last fight with Derrick lewis,they had some heated arguments and with this delayed stoppage his blood boiled as he did not want to hurt Big foot and cause more damage.
