I'm watching the replay right now.  How many of you think the eye poke had a huge negative impact for Texiera?  In the beginning of the second round he was telling his corner he couldn't see with his right eye.  And yet there's almost no mention of it in the UFC media.

If Jon fought Daniel today, would it be like their first fight? I speculate Daniel to be the better fighter today and Jon Jones to be not as good as before. He might not come back to where he was as a dominant force in light heavyweight.
Daniel is getting older and he has not improved a lot as Jon Jones commented and injuries is a struggling him for a very long time,Jones is younger and is in the best shape possible and you really cannot judge him by the fight against OSP,he will defeat DC once against and claim his belt and the division is not that strong like it used to be in the past.

I agree with you that Daniel Cormier is not getting any younger (38 years old). But I think the level of his opposition since his last lost to Jon Jones is not good either. He fought Anthony Johnson twice is last 4 fights and the Anderson Silva is a non title fight and we see what happened. So we can't say if he hasn't improved because he is overly mismatched in last 4 fights. He almost clean up the top 5 in his decision and he are just waiting for Jon Jones to really show who is the real king of the UFC Light Heavyweight.

The fight versus Anderson Silva cannot be considered as a real fight. Daniel was scheduled to fight Jon Jones because trained for Jon Jones and what did he do? It was expected that Daniel would not perform well whoever his opponent was after the disappointment.

There might also be a cover up because there are rumors now that Jon Jones was using some form of performance enhancing drugs and was not banned for cocaine.

Isn't that an opportunity for Gustafsson and the rest to become champ before Jon Jones gets back on his throne at LHW?  None of the contenders would have a chance vs Jones, but they do against Cormier.  Well maybe except for Gus.  A lot of the UFC fans think he won that fight vs Jones.  Gotta watch that one again and see for myself.
I would say the fight against DC and Gustafsson was pretty close and either could have edged and won the fight but that was not the case in the Jones fight,if you watch the fight the deciding factor was the fifth round and Jon Jones beat the shit out of Gustafsson the entire round and he could not do anything back and that was the toughest fight Jones had in his career as he was dominating the rest of the fighters and he showed he could come back a be the champion even in the fifth round.

Looks like GSP suffered an eye injury which will prevent him from fighting until november:

http://www.mmafighting.com/2017/5/26/15702330/georges-st-pierre-reveals-eye-injury-delays-return-to-ufc

I'm not certain about this card. It seems like a lot of underdogs could win their fights. Very tempting to see some of the odds stacked on them.

I know some of you guys don't find this event as exciting as UFC 211, but there's reason you should be.  Alex Gustafsson could become the future LHW champ in the future and there were arguments that he had won the first fight vs Jon Jones.  Him winning this Sunday would mean he'll be the one fighting the winner of Cormier vs Jones 2 at UFC 214.  Watch iiiit!
To be frank if anyone wants to be a champion at light heavy weight division they had their moment when Jon Jones just messed up outside the cage and if not for that Cormier would not have won the belt in the first place, the division now lost Antony Johnson and Phil Davis and Ryan Bader jumped ship because they were not getting enough opportunity and now the division looks a bit weak.

Check out Misha Cirkunov as i think he is a stud and i am wagging for him to win the fight and i think he could defeat Volkan in this match up as he is a tough fighter in this slim light heavy weight division,on Gustafsson fighting in his home town,i think he will be carrying the home town pressure and i saw the fight where he messed up with Antony Johnson,Glover Teixeira could also knock out people and it is going to be a interesting fight and the winner will have a stake at the belt.

Gustafsson on paper. Really needs a win. This guy fought DC and Bones and gave both a good fight.
He gave Jones all he can handle. I haven't seen Jones been hit and his beautiful face arranged by Gustafsson. Some pundits my call it a Gustafsson win. While Glover was also a hype, before losing to Jon Jones as well.
I would say that you got it wrong there,Glover was one of the top fighters in the world when he faced Jon Jones but one thing you have to understand is that Jones is a legend in the sport and he is so good that all of the opponents looks like hype machines when they are facing them, look at his career he was 22 -2 when he faced Jones and to get to that level it is really tough with the level of competition light heavyweight division had but now age is not in his side as he is 37 years old so Gustafsson has some advantages coming into this fight.

Alexander Gustafsson had a really good fights with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier but he got this head knocked off by Antony Johnson and he was schooled by Daniel for both of their fights ,so you really cannot do the math when it comes to fights, both fighters need this win to move on with their career and face the champion.

This card is in sweden & will air 8-12 hours earlier than normal.

Neither Gustafsson nor Teixeira looked particularly good in their last fights. Gustafsson outwrestled Blaskowitz & didn't look to be in good form. Teixeira easily outwrestled Jared Cannonier except for one punch Cannonier landed that rocked Teixeira.

Some fighters like Nico Musoke haven't fought in 2 years. Many new names and faces who have never fought in the UFC before on this card also.

The only fighters familiar to be is Gustafsson vs Teixeira, they are both tough fighters and knock out caliber fighters,Teixeira is getting old and he is fighting for a very long time and if he could win this one then he will have a run for the title once again, last time Gustafsson fought in his home land he got knocked out by Johnson,it is an interesting fight altogether.

Scanned the whole fight card of UFC FN 109 and the only one that rings a bell is the main event, the rest of the fighters are not that well know but looking forward for a surprise match or a match that both fighters are ready to slug it out until the bell rings. The new ones are the more aggressive fighters like what I see in the fight card, unlike those who already made a lot of matches in the octagon, they are more careful on their every move. Rooting for Gustafsson on this one and hoping for a rematch between Gustafsson and Jones.

I think  Gustafsson vs Teixeira will be a good fight. Looking at Glover's resume though, it looks like when he steps up to fight top #5 he usually lost but this is also the case against Gustafsson. I think the winner will square off with Cormier. Assuming DC will win his fight with Jon Jones(if the fight push through).

I wanna see Jones vs Gustafsson 2 tbh.  The first fight between them will come down as one of the greatest fights in UFC history.  But sadly Gustafsson didn't do well in his fight vs Anthony Johnson.  So all that glitter he had after fighting Jones went away.

And I'm not counting out Teixeira on this one despite what the sportsbooks priced them in.  He's certainly a live one here.

Yes. Jones vs Gustafsson II. Only Gustafsson can really matched the Jones in terms of the physical. The first fight was really exciting and everyone didn't know who will win. Its too bad Gustafsson lost but his stock went up after the fight. But against Rumble he didn't do well. I hope he win his fight Glover. Then Jones vs Gustafsson II- winner go up against Daniel Cormier.
