Really disappointed with the performance of Gunner Nelson,i really thought he could control the pace and Ponzinibbio showed that he can knock you out if you are not in the best frame of mind  Grin i saw the post fight interview where Nelson said that eye poke made the difference and if he was poked he could have said that during the fight rather than in the post fight show. Didn't it look like Gunnar Nelson was being too over confident?  I mean being with Conor McGregor and all might have an effect on his mindset and he'll try to 'do a McGregor' himself.  I dunno, it's just something that looked like it was happening to Nelson.

I thought Gunnar Nelson wasn't as sharp as in previous fights due to Conor not being able to help him prepare(being too busy training for Mayweather).

So many variables in MMA its tough to pinpoint what the cause and effect of things are.

Good observation. It may have somewhat contributed because he is with Connor as we all know is the biggest superstar right now. Maybe he thought that he can also do what Connor has currently done with his career. But this lost would definitely put a break in his career. He is riding on a winning streak and beaming with confidence. I hope this lost will teach him a lesson and go back fighting and not underestimate your opponent.

Shocking. Gunnar Nelson was 2 to 1 favorite in this fight and he is the better known fighter who was supposed to be challenging a top 5 fighter and possibly have a chance to fight for the championship. He took a risk fighting someone outside the top 10 and now he is paying for it.

Winning in the first round is nothing new for Ponzinibbio, who is now on a five-fight win streak. He's now racked up 15 wins inside the first round. Ponzinibbio is a bit of an under-the-radar contender coming from Argentina. While "Gunn" suffered the first stoppage loss of his career and the setback snapped a run of two straight wins and three victories in his last four contests. Yeah, he took a big risk and now needed to re group again after this lost.

Ponzinibbio might have committed two fouls.

After he landed that big right he grabbed Gunnar Nelson's shorts when Gunnar was running away. Then when Gunnar put his back to the fench, Ponzinibbio might have poked Gunnar in the eye.

Otherwise a solid performance from Ponzinibbio.

He actually did poke him in the eye, the cameras says it all but cheating is now becoming part of sports and certain nasty incidents are allowed due to sponsorship demands etc.

Santiago Ponzinibbio, Paul Felder, Danny Roberts, Khalil Rountree and Galore Bofando all had very impressive finishes.

I missed the first fight, Leslie Smith & Amanda Lemos. Don't think that fight mattered as it was a late notice mismatch with Lemos not being prepared to fight.

With the Conor McGregor Mayweather show going on,i never thought there is a fight card .I really think that they are not even concentrating the UFC 214 show either which is one of the biggest show when it comes to MMA where Jon Jones battles DC and Cyborg fighting for the belt .
I know just two fighters in this card. I am picking Gunnar Nelson as Santiago is not a big time grappler and i am picking Cynthia Calvillo to win the fight.

Yup.  This is not really a good card.  But hey, for UFC fans craving for some live matches this is good enough until 214 at the end of the month then May vs Mac at the end of August.  And maybe some UFC events in the middle...?

Anyway here's Dan Hardy's breakdown on the matches.

Bellator 181 is tomorrow(friday the 14th).

Should have some decent fights. I'm so spoiled with good fights.

There have been so many excellent ones over the past few weeks. Plus the McGregor vs Mayweather press conferences.
