Struve may not be the same person after being KO'ed by Mark Hunt or having that life threatening heart surgery. That has to suck considering Struve TKO'ed Stipe Miocic years back and looked to be a future contender at one time in his career. Alexander Volkov looks to be training harder and preparing better in the UFC than he did when he fought in bellator. Its not like Struve is losing against unskilled low tier fighters, Volkov deserves credit for stepping his game up big time.

I think the Superman punch that Travis Browne hit on Struve may have been the beginning and Mark Hunt KO'ed put an exclamation point on Struve career. Although he is riding a 2 or 3 fight winning streak the scar that left on him on those 2 fights really surface on the fight with Volkov as I have mentioned that he is gassing out again.

There's a lot of things in Jon Jones latest USADA positive that don't add up. Jones could be innocent. Using steroids 3 weeks before a fight doesn't make sense. The last time Jones tested positive for clomiphene there were only trace amounts in his sample that wouldn't have an effect on his fight or be enough to serve as a masking agent. The quantity of steroids in Jones sample will be one key issue once more info on the situation is released.

I haven't check the latest on Jones latest USADA situation. Thanks for the heads up though. Usually clomid is used when you have completed your cycle if I'm not mistaken but why he would do that if its only 3 weeks prior to the fight?

It could be that for some reason these traces didn't get metabolized and where still there. The situation is definitely strange, but what was found was really found for whatever reason, irrelevantly of the timming.

Why would you take clomid if it's not because of steroid usage? it's obvious he used something. He's a lanky 6'4'' guy, he put so many lbs of muscle mass and I dont believe in miracles.

Stevan Struve still has to improve a lot his striking. His gameplan was not good enough, he was gasing out at the third round and Volkov was capitalizing on it with a ton of punches. His defense was down. Also his ground game is weak, he was too easily ground and pounded. A waste of potential for such a big a guy with epic reach.

I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to be one of Struve’s coaches. The guy has all the right tools and attributes, but just never seems to be able to put it all together when it matters most. Struve mentioned he’d like some time off, which I think is a good idea. Hopefully by the time he’s ready, Junior Dos Santos will be finished with his USADA business and they can have that rematch that was booked for March. He always has this issue of gassing out in the later rounds that cost him some of his fight as evident of this lost. Volkov entering the Heavyweight division win this win is a welcoming news. Let see how his career goes in UFC.

Well, at some point if your joints are too long you can become an uncoordinated mess. That's why there are so many lanky guys that can't fight and get beaten by shorter sturdier guys. But look at Jon Jones, lanky guy with big joints that mastered his tools and turned himself into an unbeatable opponent. Too bad that his legacy is now pretty much over after the cheating/drug incidents. Now that is a real waste of talent.

Mike Santiago fought on Dana White's Contender Series 7, which was about a week ago. He might be in very good shape despite taking the fight on very late notice.

Happy to see some MMA back on after Mayweather vs McGregor wiped out about 3 weeks of MMA activity.

Not many household names on this card. Stefan Struve is so tall I swear he always looks like a video game character in the cage, he's so tall it doesn't look real.

Yeah, good to see some MMA action after Mayweather vs McGregor. LOL, Struve is the tallest fighter I don't know how young he is but he's been in a very tough fights. I still remember his devastating lost against Mark Hunt, it was really back and forth fight, but unfortunately he was caught big time. I also remember that he has heart ailments or problem before, but I think he was already cleared to fight already and on a 2 fight winning streak. I also don't see good names in the card, I'll probably pass on betting this one

Yeah, it's good to see him fight.  But I'm not really into this card tbh.  After May vs Mac I feel I need a good card to watch in MMA.  But if you're really into MMA, this card could make you some profit since the fighters aren't really known.  So the lines could be more or less inefficient.

Nice to see the Skyscraper is back into action. I think he is riding a two fight winning streak if I'm not mistaken. He's opponent is no push over here as he is a former Bellator and Global champion as well. He also has a win against the current Heavyweight champion-Miocic. I'm expecting this fight to really show a lot of fireworks as this 2 loves to really go at their opponent relentlessly.

I'm going with Struve here simply because he is the better all around fighter between the two and he has face toughest opponent before. And I think he will take advantage of his towering heights as we all know that he is the tallest fighter right now. Struve by KO or TKO.
