I didn't placed a bet this time. The odds were good, but I was reluctant because Oleinik was having the fight in his home country. On top of that age is catching up with Overeem. But in the end, Overeem proved that he was one of the best fighters out there, irrespective of the age.
Yeah me too because its hard to predict who will win this fight and i might also lose money if I place a wrong bet. They both have good records, and age is doesn’t matter on this fight. But since Oleinik are more physically fit, i think he has the big chance to win.

Can't say i expected much from this fight anyway. Yeah overeem won but i don't consider these two as top tier in the heavyweight division. Overeem has seen better days even if his physique still looks awesome. And even during his prime, he didn't have what it takes to dominate a division the way jds, brock and even cain did during their times.
His fight history is not as impressive like other heavyweight champion who dominated the division. Overeem was a contender but someone always pushes him behind the line of contenders to the championship belt. However, props to his striking accuracy which is 70%, I have never seen anyone in the heavyweight division to have such striking accuracy.

Overeem is just the shadow of the fighter he used to be. He is so slow !

There is a belief, that Overeem was quick only on drugs. Before testing positive before ufc 146 (may 2012) he destroyed almost everything in mma and k1. After positive test, take a look on his career. He started to lose more often.

I do agree with that, he was very impressive at a time and then poof... nothing.
Bigger, stronger, faster they say...

I said it before, the Heavyweight division is in terrible shape.
Overeem is just the shadow of the fighter he used to be. He is so slow !
Oleinik is even worse, he looks like a fucking windmill when he boxes. He throws half his punches from miles away but Overeem is so damn slow, he can't even stop them.
And now there's gonna be a fight between Overeem and Volkov ? Volkov, that clumsy 6'7" Russian ? Oh my...

Now the fight between Makhachev and Tsarukyan, that was a real MMA fight ! So much technique, so many skills, entertaining as hell.

I lost money betting for Oleinik. And this time, the amount was quite significant ($100).  Sad

Valuable lesson learnt the hard way. Never make a bet in favor of someone whom you don't know very well. I should have skipped this match, but I guess I was over-confident and wanted to make quick bucks.

I couldn't watch the fight, as the timing was quite inconvenient. I guess it was a very one-sided fight?

^  'Destroyed'?  Nah...  Overeem had to get thru a lot in that first and only round imo.  He was just one grazing punch over the head before getting reemed.  Lololol.
Agreee that this was not a walk in the park for overeem.
Fight could have ended at any time but yes the end result was a destruction

I wasn't surprised at all that Overeem won the fight. The guy is a great fighter even though he lost to his previous opponent they wouldn't call him the "Demolition Man" for nothing. I guess he demolished Oleinik entirely in just 1 round.

Frankly speaking, I think Oleinik is not on the same level as Overeem. He is like in the other “tier”.
But I would expect it would end so quick.

The results were as expected. But I expected Oleinik to perform better, especially in front of the home crowd. At least I hoped that he will be able to hold on for 3 rounds. But Overeem destroyed him in the first round itself. In the lightweight category I expected Makhachev to win by KO. But Arman Tsarukyan gave him a tough fight and in the end it was left to the jury to decide the winner.

It looks like Overeem's next fight will be against Alexander Volkov, and that may happen within the next 4-5 months.

Surprising win for Alistair Overeem good thing that he has somehow reclaimed his name after two consecutive KO losses one of it coming from Francis Ngannou who gave him a vicious punch to knock him out cold. Now Overeem is on a KO winning streak on his own but I don't think it will be enough for fans to say that he still has gas left on winning fights against fighters that ranks lower against him. He must show that he cod reclaim his name by defeating the guys who have defeated him in the past namely Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes.

I am going with Overeem all the way. The manner in which he destroyed Brock recently was spectacular. His kicks to the liver really did a number on Lesnar. I am expecting Oleinik to lose due to the kickboxing advantage of Overeem.

As far as I can remember that was like 8 years ago? That time when Overeem was juicing and pretty much jacked up.  Grin

Same thoughts with @tokeweed, feeling that Overeem will be KO here, 3-3 in his last 6 fights.  Grin

Only a few minutes to go for the fight. I am placing the bet in favor of Oleinik. The site in which I made my bet is considering Oleinik as a +190 underdog (I will win $190 on my $100 bet, in case he wins). Another important fight was Islam Makhachev vs on Arman Tsarukyan. I though about placing a bet for that one as well, but the odds were too favorable for Makhachev.

^  I got a bad feeling Overeem's gonna get KO'd once again.  And it's gonna be hilarious cos I think whatever is just gonna graze over his head knocking him out still.  Cheesy
@YuginKadoya

I do respect your point but my bet goes for Oleinik even Overeem do have that kickboxing advantage but this is UFC.The gap of experience between two is clear and when it comes to fighting style
Overeem do get my attention but lets see on what would be the outcome of this fight.
We will never know until we see it through the end Every gamble had an outcome and its unpredictable we can say that there will be training for a certain of player and fighters that one should take care of until the following fight,
And yes there is this gap for certain fighters and I think Overeem can exploits Oleinik's weakness there is a chance that he can hit Oleinik hard.

Probably he is a type of risk taker. In terms of betting, Overeem is indeed the favorite with -240 or 1.42 while odds for Oleinik is +190 or 2.9
I'm not a fan of UFC sports but sometime I place a bet on it based on the odds and some predictions. If I have spend my money on it then I will place it on Overeem.

Let's just wait until the end of the fight, Oleinik sure has the potential and I have seen it in his previews fights but I feel that Overeem can get this one so unpredictable it may seem but all can happen with a single strike or move.

It will be a very exciting fight but I think a fight with Volkov would be a good match as well. I'll go for Oleinik. I have watched a few of his fights and I like his strategy. I think it would be hard for Overeem to beat him. Well, let's just wait and see.

This can be a great fight in my opinion but I can never say if this fight will be even I really think that the odds will be in favor with Alistair Overeem not because of his bulk build but with the records on his experience Well even though Alexey Oleynik has the most number of fights on the UFC Alistair Overeem had a quite match of his own with his kickboxing records, Well I have a gist that he may take this victory, Well I know that UFC may be a bit different with kickboxing that Overeem may experience because UFC has a submission move that is totally different from the way kickboxing does so maybe Oleinik can have a chance, but I still think that Alistair Overeem will get this win.
