Izzy has removed the doubt of many who thought he can't win Pereira in this game. Glad to see the joy in his face when he knocked his opponent to the floor. Like the OP said, a whole lot of fans supported Izzy to win the game. Though it would have been a shame if he lost this match to Periera, his fans would have made fun out of Izzy. Izzy is strong contendant and knows TKO well enough, he'll bounce back stronger.

Dana White announced that Pereira will likely move up to 2005 which is a light heavyweight where he has a good chance to become champion again, Jamahal Hill is the current light heavyweight champion.
Dana will not support an immediate third meeting between the two although there is a clamor for a third meeting in the UFC because it's even, we all know Dana he wants to protect the interest of the UFC so there will be no third meeting for now.

Yes, Pereira officially announced that he is moving up the weight class to 205. HERE's the official video, if anyone's interested.  Light heavyweight is fairly stacked. I don't think Pereira will straight up get a title shot. He'll have to fight someone like Jan Błachowicz or Magomed Ankalaev and then see how it goes. Can't wait for his fight going to be announced. UFC just keeps getting better.

There's definitely going to be another fight between the 2. I haven't really seen anyone capable of challenging Adesanya like Pereira does. These 2 guys are at an elite level that nobody even comes close to at their division. Will just have to wait and see, when UFC thinks its time for the champ to defend the title again.

I thought Alex Pereira said the fight is going to be the last fight between both of them? Well I don't doubt the fact that these guys are champs when it comes to the UFC but I think it will take a long time before we get to here them fighting each other again cause right now if Israel is to defend his tittle soon it's not going to be interested now because a lot of people expect them to face more challengers instead of fighting just each other.
Alex will def be fighting someone else for now but who's even close to these two, that can challenge for the title? If Alex wins his next fight, I think we are in for a 3rd fight between the two. There's enough drama between the two already and UFC knows how to milk it. Unless Pereira never wants to fight for the title, expect him to fight Israel again.

Izzy claimed victory in the second round with a brutal knockout, and I never once doubted his ability to win in his second UFC matchup. Watching Izzy defeat Alex was incredibly satisfying, particularly since he had previously lost to him three times in a row. Both fighters put on an impressive display of sportsmanship during the match, and I'm hopeful to see a third bout between them in the UFC. Alex's post-match speech was truly awe-inspiring, giving me chills and confirming that he rightfully deserves the championship belt. As an added bonus, my bet on Izzy paid off and proved to be a winning decision. This win is a significant milestone in Izzy's career, and it cements his position as one of the UFC's top fighters. However, it's important to acknowledge Alex's skill and resilience as well. Despite the loss, Alex remains a formidable opponent, and I have no doubt that he will come back stronger in future matches.

After watching the fight back I’m not sure Izzy was pulling a masterful rope a dope. It looked a bit like he was getting pounded on and then threw some haymakers as a last attempt to not get put down. They landed perfectly and he got a clean win, but this was a close fight. If I were Izzy I would want a new opponent too.

Exactly, the scene was very familiar, almost similar to what happened in their first match. Pereira was pounding Izzy, pushing his back at the side of the octagon, absorbing defensive and survival blows while throwing highly accurate and stronger ones until Izzy expires. It just so happened that Izzy was able to throw a strong counter haymaker that landed on the right spot at the right time that really stopped Pereira. Everything changed. If it didn't happen, the result of the first match would have been repeated.

No official announcement yet I think its too early but Adesanya himself already told the press that if Pereira wants another match with him, Pereira would have to work hard for it to be given another title shot. Its something like a big NO but it seem to make sense as well to which he added that he already have given Pereira the chance to get a belt even when he only beaten one top fighter such as Sean Strickland.
That's an easy for Pereira to accomplish it, Sean Strickland do have a heart and he will try to his best even though he was forced to fight with an another fighter because of sudden replacement, just like how his last fought against Imavov.

But I heard Pereira will move to the next weight rather than fight with Adesanya again.

What a display of violence by Israel Adensanya! that was one of the best cold-blooded knockouts in the UFC. I hope there will be a trilogy, but as Adesanya said, he's not interested because he already got his redemption. I don't know if Alex Pereira will stay in the middleweight division or move up to the lightweight division. If they are planning to move up, that would be great, and I would love to watch him compete against Jiri Prohazka and Jamahal Hill for the championship belt.

Lol, there was no violence there, there's not even a blood spilled on that fight if I'm not mistaken. It was a display of heart and resiliency on the part of Adesanya that despite him losing the first 2 fights, he still believed in himself that he can beat Alex Pereira and he even envisioned that it will be quick and that's really happen in this fight and if ever one lesson here, just listen to his post fight interview by Joe Rogan. He will have to go up in lightweight, he seems to have problems staying at middle weight in my opinion.

It actually looks like he was in trouble in that exchange but it could also be that he planned it all to make Periera lower his guard and it's exactly what happened when Pereira began to be very confident after throwing the body shot.

This Pereira's fall is making lots of fans want more to have another shot for the two in the cage. As much as DC wants it to happen, Adesanya had already spoken about declining Alex unless he crawls up the rank beating the top fighters.

I am in favor of a third fight of the two in the UFC. That Adesanya lost a couple of times to Pereira in kickboxing is not part of the story anymore. That's just history that isn't even MMA. The UFC record is 1-1 to both Pereira and Adesanya. So it is fair to have a third match if only to break the tie.

That was a great match. The first one was also a great match. There is no reason to deprive MMA fans of another great match in a second UFC rematch. Both fighters deserve it also.

If only Pereira survived those counterblows, this could have easily been a repeat of their first match. But Pereira was also the one who got saved by the bell in their first fight. A third fight is needed.
I didn't expect Adesanya to be able to win TKO from Pereira, he seemed to have prepared everything from the start, this was Adesanya's first win against Pereira, I'm sure there will be another match between the two that will take place in the next few years

I can say that the two of them have an eternal rivalry, apart from that Israel's Adesanya uses the "mocking" celebration that Pereira's son did to him first. really entertaining Cheesy

The fight could end with either of them winning via knockout. They both have the power. So the knockout win could come from Adesanya or Pereira. They're also very eager to prove something.

Although I really want to see a tie breaker, it seems the interest to have a rematch is very low. Dana White is not interested. Even Pereira himself is not interested anymore. Adesanya has also declared that he is not anymore interested in facing Pereira once more. So the rivalry is not eternal. It has already ended.
Alex Pereira is planning on moving up to 205 from 185 which he cut weight so to accommodate continue fighting in this weight-class.
Dana White even confirmed this during the post-fight press conference so don't expect them to fight anytime soon.
Plus, Pereira is not allowed to fight for another six months due to the nature of that knockout according to UFC rules and doctors are obligated too not allow fighters to take on another fight so soon afterwards.
https://www.mma-core.com/videos/Alex_Pereira_is_GETTING_six_month_SUSPENSION_following_KO_loss_Israel_Adesanya_refuses_REMATCH/10501497

So don't expect Alex Pereira in octagon until the fourth quarter of the year and he will possibly be fighting in the light heavyweight division at that time.

Yes, Alex Pereira definitely needs enough rest. That knockout punch that he got from Adesanya was not a soft one. Pereira was already shut down before his body even touched the floor. He probably even got a fracture on his face as a result of that serious blow. He needs enough time to fully recover and be in 100% health condition when he comes back to face another opponent. And yes, most probably in 205 already.

Adesanya is mocking Pereira with his celebration, it's a good revenge by him.
Pereira's son mocked Israel before when he was knocked out, Israel was just returning the favour. There will be another fight and by then the pressure would have shifted to Israel who will now be bearing the weight of trying to defend the belt he just won. Israel need to not rest but to continue developing and polishing his techniques so he can be ready before an official date for the next fight between the two of them be announced. It will be tougher.
was the fight confirmed? A lot of people are looking to have the two fight again to further cement who's the better fighter but as far as I know no official announcement from any party, not even UFC's that says they are confirmed to get a new fight. In any case I think this will be one of the biggest fight in UFC history, seeing as this fight already made grounds on the internet, partly because of Israel Adesanya's massive KO win against Pereira. But I digress, I don't think the fight is confirmed yet by any party, but I can expect the both of them being very eager to face each other in the ring for another fight or so just to really prove who's big and who's not worthy of the title.

No official announcement yet I think its too early but Adesanya himself already told the press that if Pereira wants another match with him, Pereira would have to work hard for it to be given another title shot. I agree, that's what my read as well during Adesanya's post interview, that somewhat Pereira was "given" the opportunity to have a crack at the belt. While him work his way out for years defeating good fighters in his way to become a champion.

Nevertheless, the plot just thickens, I mean we want to see another fight between the two great fighters.

But if Pereira can get back to the ring, sort of going for a title eliminator, who knows, maybe just a couple of fights and then we will see this warriors on the ring again. Pereira still has Adesanya's number though, just saying.

Man, that Adesanya-Pereira brawl was straight fire, just like you said! Adesanya clinching that TKO victory had me shook, 'cause Pereira ain't no slouch. But hey, that's the game, and you're right – these two got a never-ending face-off. It's a sport that makes you ponder the essence of rivalry and human prowess. Still, I'm mad amped about the idea there won't be a rematch. Both Adesanya and Pereira got stacks to show, and I'm betting they'll clash again down the road. Remember, sports ain't just about the drama, but camaraderie and props too. Even with their heated rivalry, I know Adesanya and Pereira got mad respect for each other.

This wasnt a display of violence, just to good hooks in the section of a temple Cheesy If you think this is a "best cold-blooded knockout", then I suggest you to look for KO compilations on YouTube Cheesy But no doubt, those two hooks were well timed. Adesanya said that he isnt interested in fighting same person 3 times in a row. He isnt interested in fighting Pereira not because he has got redemption. This isnt a redemption, it is 1-3 between them so far. And you have funny confused lightweight and light heavyweight Cheesy Pereira barely fits in 185lb, and you say he will move to 155lb. Cant imagine Pereira even physically fitting in 155lb. He would probably have to cut his arm to fit in Cheesy

Videos and pictures of them hugging and showing respect to each other are surfacing they have mutual respect for each other after the fight all hate and thrash talking should end, I'm sure they will meet again in the future it depends on the decision of the UFC, they go could go right away or they will let both fighters fight other fighters, the score is just even in the UFC and I'm sure the MMA community will like to see both fighters meet in the ring again, the excitement and the drama will still be there when they meet for the fifth time in their careers.

The odds is saying if Adesanya will win this fight and he's a kickboxer, he have a power to knockout Pereira. The first match Adesanya is dominating the fight, but he just make an one mistake and Pereira can knockout Adesanya.

It's really fast how Adesanya can beat Pereira in the round 2, I expect it should be round 4 at least because both of them are a good fighter. Yeah Adesanya is mocking Pereira with his celebration, it's a good revenge by him.

Adesanya didn't just win a TKO against Pereira; he won a KO against the man who used to beat him 3 times. But it's not really unexpected. We all know how athletic, quick, and powerful Adesanya is. It could happen. You have to remember he also nearly knocked out Pereira in their first MMA match. Now, it has finally happened.

For now, the prospect of a rematch will have to be shelved. It could happen in the future though, but Dana has mentioned that Poatan might be moving to 205 after the match. So the rivalry will have to end, at least for now.

Pereira fits in that weight class. He don't have to dehydrate himself to take away 20 lbs every weigh-in. If Adesanya fights Pereira on 205 lbs, Adesanya will be in big trouble.

Maybe if Adesanya decides to also move to 205lbs, they may have a rematch but so far according to the news, a rematch in the coming months may be unlikely. And by that time also Pereira might have losses because LH is full of cold-blooded fighters like him.

I can say that the two of them have an eternal rivalry, apart from that Israel's Adesanya uses the "mocking" celebration that Pereira's son did to him first. really entertaining Cheesy

Adesanta just put the lights out on Alex Pereira just when Alex is pouring in Adesanya I just thought Alex is going to knock out Izzy again until Izzy did a big counter punch that puts the light out of Alex, Izzy just establish his greatness by knocking out his arch-rival this just erased all of his losses by Adesanya and this is just sweet and spectacular congratulations to both fighters for giving a great fight to all UFC fans.

I guess there's going to be a 3rd match here in the UFC.

If you look at their entire history of confrontation, this is already the fourth fight between them (two were in kickboxing and Pereira won both times). In my opinion, there is no need for a third fight here, the champion lost his title, but he returned it revenge, this can be put an end to. Adesanya is a well-deserved champion who has been going to this for a long time and has repeatedly defended his belt.

Izzy won via brutal KO on round 2. I never doubt that Israel will lose in their 2nd UFC matchup, It sounds a bit funny but my decision is purely based on his movements and emotions because he is really ready to do anything just for his redemption. I'm happy to see Izzy won against Alex because he is beaten by Alex for 3 times and a row and this is his 1st time defeating Alex. What a great performance for the both fighters and they also have great sportsmanship between the 2. Hoping to see trilogy in the UFC between the two. The speech of Alex at the end of the match is so good, it actually gives me a goosebumps and he only proved that he deserved the belt again. I also made a bet to Israel so I also won on their match.

It's really an easy win for him and the loss at their first fight could have been not happened if only the referee can wait for Izzy to be knockout as well instead he stop it and it seems like Izzy was still fine. But all of that confusion has been cleared today and with some more training before this fight, Izzy was easily able to knock out Alex and it might be it, to seal their rivalry unless Alex wanted to regain his honor and wanted to request another rematch as Izzy did. The hype before this fight is really amazing and to clear every doubt about their last fight was truly a great performance by Izzy.

I won’t say it was an easy fight because the match is very close counter punching and kicking before Pereira. In fact, Izzy was already cornered after receiving a solid blow but Pereira didn’t expect the heavy counter that Izzy setup for him. I think he will not be knocked it if back down first after receiving the counter punch because he still gonna throw some punch until Izzy launch the follow up punch on his face that knock him down cold in the canvass.

Rematch is inevitable with this rivalry because both matches ended in the same manner. The current match is the opposite of what happened in the first fight which Pereira is in the unfavorable situation until he get the momentum to TKO Izzy. This is very nice main event to watch on a Sunday vacation.  Shocked

Amazing redemption story for Izzy! He worked so hard during this break in order to be 200% prepared for this fight and the style he used last night to fight and counter , was really scary for Pereira to follow and as soon as Pererira so a gap , we went for it , without having the sense that Izzy is blocking most of the shots coming into him and as soon as Izzy saw the counter timing opportunity , he switched the light off on Pereira with a majestic KO.

Now , we will get a another fight between them ? I would say this saga deserves one more fight Smiley

It looks that way, Alex thought it's going to be over already while Izzy curled to protect himself.
There must be a 3rd fight. Fans will still like to see another and Adesaanya will fight whoever comes as long as it's in this weight class.
Easy win for Adesanya believer. Him losing in their first fight didn't convince many fans that Izzy lost his will. The picks of most UFC fans are Adesanyaa.

But if they fight again I'm sure it will still attract attention, but Pereira will still have to make a comeback fight against other top fighters in that division before challenging Adesanya again or he can opt to move to the higher division like the Light heavyweight division, Pereira's carelessness puts him in trouble he was caught by surprise by that straight right, he thought he hurt Adesanya again, neglecting his defense and bringing his defense down.
I'm sure this is not going to be their last meeting because Pereira still had 2 wins up against Adesanya but let's see if they will announce a third match in UFC.

What a fight! Alex Pereira was on his way to deal the same damaging strikes on Israel Adesanya before that successful desperate counterattack. I don't know if Poatan lost focus and got over-excited when he was able to connect and then corner Adesanya but he dropped his guards and that cost him that fight. The Style Bender has quicker hands and Poatan paid heavily.

The status is now 1-3 in favor of Poatan. Another match might happen soon. If Poatan somehow managed to win this fight, I don't think there is a fifth fight just like when he mentioned that he is closing the series after his 4th win which failed to materialize.

While checking the different book makers odds for these main card matches, I see the odds have changed but slightly but they have changed over the course of the day.
Adesanya is 1.79x odds on some books and even Gilbert Burns is 1.25x now from when I checked his odds it was 1.22x odds.
So very slight yes but if you bet big like I am on the main card bouts, it does make a difference.

I am a big fan of Israel Adesanya and it breaks my heart to see him in this dire situation, I consider this a dire situation because he is down 3-0 and a loss will shut him off in the UFC all-time greats, 4-0 from one fighter is ugly for a great fighter.
Surprisingly Izzy is the favorite here and I see him also as the favorite to win the fight on his last two losses to Alex he has a wide margin and in their last meeting Izzy was up 3-1 until that left hook in the last round he is winning the fight and just needs on to hold to defend the title.

The career record of Adesanya was 23-2-0 and his recent loss to Pereira is just his second loss prior to his first loss to Jan when he attempted a higher weight class. Adesanya is on 3 win streak when he was beaten by Pereira last year and he will be 2-0 on his career once he loss again.

But I agree that his career will be wrecked once he loses to the same man twice in a row in pursuit for redeeming his belt again. I don’t know if he will still have a career in case he failed to revenge this time.

Thank you for clearing that out. It's titled Adesanya versus Pereira 2 for a reason.
But you are correct, losing to one fighter in a row will create a bad image. I mean, just take a look at Kamaru Usman now. He may have lost a lot of fans after being defeated twice by Leon Edwards and then there's the negative mental effect on every fighter which is a normal thing to happen because they will lose confidence in their skills.
This is a must-win fight for Adesanya so I will be rooting for him. It doesn't matter if Pereira comes back prepared because we will see a complete Adesanya in 3 hours who will be throwing everything he got without any hesitation.

I have been telling this in the main UFC thread about Israel Adesanya mocking Alex Pereira even before Adesanya became a champion during an interview and that actually motivated Alex Pereira to start MMA and then sign with the UFC. So Israel Adesanya asked for this one Cheesy.

clip starts from 7:07 minute.

Alex have crazy knockout power and that is what makes him dangerous. I wont be surprised if Alex Pereira starts wrestling in this fight to make a point and frustrates Adesanya Grin.

I agree that he is still young and strong but without the will power, His career will go south once he encounter the great wall on his career which is Pereira.

I think the only reason why Adesanya has the advantage on early stage is because Pereira is being cautious due to Adesanya adequate skill until he realizes that Adesanya can’t handle solid blows once you are already inside his reach.

I hope Adesanya will win this time to have a possible 3rd fight.

I'm surprised by Adesanya's motivation and fighting skill in their 2nd fight in Glory kickboxing, he is winning the fight until he got caught by a vicious left hook with only three seconds to go, same thing happen in their third fight in UFC this time he is 3-1 in the scorecards again that vicious left hook rocks him and he losses his equilibrium and from there Pereira pour in a lot of punches, now he is confident that he can beat him not only beat him but beat him in a worse way than what he suffered.
These are strong words for a guy to have been beaten three times in a row and have that spirit, tells the kind of character that he has.

Adesanya is still young and strong as a horse. He will still be in UFC but might have to start all over again. Perera is just stronger and bigger than him. It doesn't look like a mismatch but in their first fight, Adensanya is winning until he got caught with big blows.

This 2nd fight is a time to redeem that belt. Exciting match to watch but can also break your heart when you chose to be a fan.

Who did you get between this two?

I never got to watch the complete match between these two, I just as a few clips here and there (I might consider watching when I'm less).

And since this is a battle between two rivals, it might be tricky to predict who is going to win because most of the time the two parties might try to hide their trick under their sleeves until the finishing moment but if in to bet I'll still go with Adesanya, because I feel he's still going to come out victorious but I'm not putting my hope high because I'm excited could happen and Alex would win.
My bet is on Israel too, but let's see how the game goes.
Yes you are right that mate these two fighter hide their best strategy to surprise us in the octagon it because we all know that these two fighter have a strong stamina that can long last until the final round and also we all know that this time the favorite fighter is Israel adesanya which is no doubt it because this fighter si have good strategy in terms of fighting and also he is an aggressive behavior fighter.

2016 first ever face off

2023 current face off

Tomorrow is the day when we will see an all out war between this two. A lot of people surprised including me that Israel is still the favorite between this matchup with 1.70 odds and Pereira is the underdog with 2.15 odds. We all know that Alex lost 2 matches in kickboxing and 1 match in UFC to Pereira but he still the favortie in the main event of the UFC match tomorrow. A lot of bettors are keeping eye on this match including drake who bet again to Israel with $900,000. As for my prediction, this match will proved that Israel can beat Alex Pereira, I saw to his eyes that he is ready to fight and even die just to beat Alex. I watched some podcast of Israel before where he really believed to law of attraction or some metaphysical things about human can achieved anything if he really believed to it. Alex said to himself that the dog is ready to unleash out and he already imagined that he can beat Pereira in matchup. It is a do or die for Israel Adesanya so I'll got bet with him. Don't get me wrong because Alex is really strong fighter and I respect him, I just wanna bet on Israel because I know that he can pull this out. So excited for the match tomorrow. Who you got between this two?
