This fight went into a decision. Twas such a close fight. In the ufc. Never give the decision to the underdog. I know holly had a difficulty laying that perfect punch. But she was not circling to the left. She did not step back. But circling to the left would have created many more contact opportunities. Holly Holm is a champ. Just cannot leave it to a decision. Holm did great.

Well I think Miesha Tate looks better, she is hot and can fight but I think she has also had a period of being overrated. I think she should just retire and go the mainstream cinema route just like Gina Carano did after her first lose.

I'm beginning to think that when Rousey is on her winning streak the opponents are filtered or selected so that they will gain attention. Rousey is a good choice to promote womens UFC because she has a nice looking face but scary when she looks serious.

I think that if none of the girls start a big reign of win streaks the UFC will have a hard time creating an unbeatable type of girl like when Rousey was undefeated. They had this in the HW division with Bones Jon Jones and now that he has tested positive again his legacy is already dead, he will never be that unbeatable guy because he has that aura of a cheater.

Having 2 straight loses in your fight career in a game played by only a few is bad and will not give the UFC owners a reason to give her another shot at the title. UFC womens division is very much open to almost everybody now after that loss of huge upset of Rousey. In UFC lately you notice a trend, in the Mens division theres "doping" in the womens division theres an "upset"

Yep, i have been fishing on that day hahaha. I dont have a time to watch the fight. But Holly Holms is still my favorite. I dont know whats gonna happen on her future coz she lose two consecutive fights. Hope her next fight will be succesful. I want her to have rematch with Ronda Rousey.

Well i observed a stereotyped holly. Learn something new cause it ain't working anymore. shenchenko saw it coming! Mma is striking and grappling!!!. i guess her win over rousey made her opponents more observant about her games.

Yes. That rematch will not sell anymore. I think a fight between Shevchenko and Rousey would be better for both fighters if Rousey comes back. With the winner of that fight getting a title fight versus Nunes.

Looks like Ronda Rousey won't ever have to fight Holly again if she ever comes back. The fight showed how good Valentina Shevchenko has become and maybe a future champ.  Shocking the world was probably a bad thing for Holly she is still inexperienced in MMA and had to fight title contenders, hope for the best for her if she comes back again.

Yes. For Holm it would be better for her to have 1 or 2 easy fights before she continues for the quest for the belt. She is already drained mentally having lost two tough match ups in a row. Those were fights she could have won. The first one she made a mistake and got submitted the second one is another mistake for her lack of aggression. Very sad to see.

Good fight. I thought Holm may have pulled it off 3-2. I know Holm coaches will correct you for the next fight. Holm usually double jab (or multi-punch) way in before kicking to get close. Holm knocked the wind out of her in the last round I thought Holm was going to jump on her. When Holm had her up against the cage, more knees to the stomach and elbows.

It's unfortunate that Holm lost, I think she is the better fight but she had a bad night. She gave Rousey a good beating so we can't underrate her. Of course if she fails a third time then it's time to start doubting fo real.

With how things went out in her career, it would be near impossible for that rematch to happen and at the same time draw a lot of people as it did in their first fight.  I'm really disappointed in how Holm's decisions on who and when to fight.  It could be both her and her manager's fault.  But more fault on her manager.  He should be advicing her on what fights are good and what to avoid.  Her last two fights wasn't worth the reward in the risk:reward ratio.

Of course the ufc is going to have her win, the way the ufc is going with the past ppv's and free shows they have it to where she will win. She's a one hit wonder, i truly believe ufc had it to where Ronda was to lose due to out of the octagon commitments. I will not watch it or any other ppv's or free ones.

Both fighter looks good prior to the match but after the match Schevchenko look very confident that her name will be called out.
Having lost twice in a row Holly Holms admitted that she is not in the position to call out Rousey but watching the fight for the 2nd time on TV Holly Holms looks like she is tired and not ready for a stand up fight with Schevchenko. is this another one of those who will complain about to much promotional tour?

Holly Holms is my favorite. Hopefully she won that fight so she and Ronda Rousey have a rematch. I have never watch any Schevchenko fights but she seems very strong. Holms should be careful defending herself. Holms is good at range fight, just like she did from Rousey. She made that fight easy. She must be careful on takedown cause she has no advatange on that.

Yes! I knew Valentina would win. She is really the better fighter compared to Holm. Valentina is a little smaller but is thicker compared to her. Now it would be nice to follow her future fights because she will be on the road to a rematch versus Amanda Nunez for the championship belt.

I agree that she doesnt want to get close or engage in a close fight as it may end up submission like what happened with her fight with Tate. Looks like she doesn't want to get close, doesn't want to box but wanted a good opening opportunity to knock Shevchenko out cold but it didn't happen.

Yeah, it's like Holm not even try on this match. Since i saw her face before fight, i already know Holm will be lose, luckly i'm skip on this match.

It was as if she was scared to get to boxing range and do her stuff, hiding the kick behind the punches.  I think she was cautious of getting too close because Shev is just too dangerous in the clinch.

WOW I'm shocked Holm had zero heart

she was clearly losing and her corner even was telling her she had to
make something happen and she continued to do nothing. The worst part
is Shevchenko didn't look good either so UFC loses big time. If holm wins they
get rousey holm 2 and now they get nothing cause why would you pay big money
to see rousey vs a fluke winner like holm who has lost 2 in a row. Sad outcome for
my wallet and for the ufc.

No excuses for Holm. Easily beaten on the fight. Holly Holm's punches and kicks barely landed the entire fight. Holly rocked her one time, but Valantina recovered and dominated. Anyway congrats to Valentina Shevchenko. Just lose my bet

I like Holly Holm on this match I feel she will rise on top against Valentina Shevchenko this is gonna be a good match I hope we see a KO tonight.

I think Holm will win. I don't get how she lost to Tate. Tate is good but not on the level of Holm or Rousey. I think Holm will dominate the UFC female fights if she starts being consistent. I don't think Rousey will ever come back and if she comes back she will be too anxious due his trauma of losing his perfect record.

Definitely I would not miss this fight! If there's any fighter who can bounce back from a loss it's Holly Holm, I expect too much from her, hopefully she don't disappoint me . But I would like to see her work in the octagon like what she did with Ronda Rousey. Anyway, judging Valentina Shevchenko as Holm's opponent, she's a beast also her striking is just as elite and a really hard striker both on the same level. Can't wait to watch this!

Gotta agree, after watching the weigh in its making me think valentina may be worth a shot as a big underdog.  She looks like if she gets her to the ground holly wont

I love holly (maybe a bit in love, haha) but jeez valentina looks like a tank and she can move and punch and kick. I'm worried shes going to be too much for holly. Plus holly looked a bit nervous at the weigh ins.

This is just my opinion but I think Shevchenkois the better striker. The fight could be close to evens and betting for value on Valentina is a good gamble. We could see the upset of the night here. I just think Shevchenko wants it more than Holm.

I wouldnt say that. They are both very good strikers and Valentina has an advantage in the clinch and ground.
Holm has a list of boxing titles and some kickboxing titles too. Shevchenko has a list of kickboxing titles and 2 muay thai titles.

They both come from striking.

This going to be an exciting fight! Holly Holm is likely the better striker than Valentina Shevchenko but either way I see this going to be an entertaining fight, round 2 TKO(head kick and punches) by Holly Holm.

Holm is definitely the big favorite -300+ in odds. Its weird how big the odds are because they both have the same styles and are both kick
boxers. I just figured that the line would be lower but still like holm to get the big win.

from what i've read on mmajunkie, holm seems to be predicted to winning the games, although its only prediction, but if holm can be stand and fight with good, i think her chance to be a winner is possible. its all about technique that she learn to be a good winner.

Holly Holm can manage to defeat Valentina Shevchenko if she can set up a fluke punch and land a hard hitting kick, remember when she fought Rousey that upsets the crowd on that day?

You guys have to get real with your odds if you expect people to use DirectBet to wager on MMA or boxing. I've tried many times as I'm a big combat sports gambler but it's almost impossible to ever put a wager down for a whole host of reasons. Firstly, your pre-fight moneylines are consistently far worse than just about every decent fiat and many BTC sportsbooks out there. Then the live lines during the fights are so heavily juiced it's ridiculous. One fighter looks like he or she is ahead 10-9 after round 1 and the odds jump to -1500 or -3300 or even -10000. Who is going to bet at those sucker prices? And most of the time, even if the fight is competitive, you only put up one side live once the fight gets a few minutes underway- either the favorite or the underdog- not both sides, depending on who looks like they are losing. And even then the odds are so disadvantageous only a fool would wager at the terrible prices usually offered. And if a bettor does find a rare spot and put a bet in, the odds are moved around so randomly and quickly by the trader that even if you rush and send your bet in as fast as your fingers can type in your wallet, it often gets rejected as the odds have changed in the meantime, which ends up costing some coin for the transfer fees.

That looks good.  You just gave me an idea.  What do you think of parlaying Holm and Barboza @ 1.93?  Those are two solid favorites in this card.  

Holm, in my opinion, will be more motivated than ever coming in this fight especially after that bad beat vs Tate.  Shevchenko has nothing on Holm except for when she goes for the clinch.  But we saw what happened when Rousey tried that strategy.  

Barboza is looking good, still progressing fight after fight and going for that title challenge.  He has a future ahead of him.  Melendez, one of my favorite fighters, what can I say?  It's so sad to see him fighting to make himself still relevant in the sport.  Coming out with two back to back losses and one year suspension plus a sticter USADA, I just can't see him win vs Barboza.  The odds are stacked against him.

going to really take control in the middle of the fight and grind him out. Browns a

I'll go for Holly Holm on this fight. Holm is hungry for a win and needs to prove something to the UFC management that she is ready for another title fight. We might see a submission or a KO on the first 2 rounds but I guess a title fight for Holm is still far from reality because UFC management already have someone in mind regardless if Holm wins.

I will take Valentina here as the underdog. She has as good or better striking, she will have to get around Holms sidekick that she uses well to keep people at distance. Valentina also has an advantage in clinch and on the ground imo.

Good matchup depending on the odds Ill take Barboza with + money or -100. I would think about Melendez if he is at good + money.

Felice Herrig (10-6) vs. Kailin Curran (4-2) (Women's Strawweight)
Going to rewatch some of Curran´s fights, and come up with a pick here. I dont have a lot of confidence in Herrig who has not looked great in the octagon. Ok striking and ok wresling, nothing amazing. Prob go with an underdog cards no bet option.

I probably say yes that Holm is a beast but it depends when both fighters in the octagon will clash with their own styles. I'm still thinking which side should I bet my on Valentina Shevchenko (Bullet) or Holly Holm(The Preacher's Daughter). 

I know anything could happen. But I'll take Holm in this match. She's a beast in octagon.

This will be a good fight but Valentina Shevchenko is the real thing ! Can Holm manage her Muay Thai skill with his kickboxing? Hopefully she improved a lot from his lose to Ronda Rousey.

Well, anything could happen.
But Holm has one big advantage over Shevchenko (or over any right-handed fighter, to be honest) and it is her Southpaw stance.
Which can be problematic to deal with for fighters experienced in fights vs. primarily  right handed opponents.

barboza and melendez I believe was upgraded to a "co-main event"

melendez has lost a couple in a row and looks pretty crappy. He also
failed a drug text and sat out like a year. Could be why he took the drugs
was cause he was losing badly in the octagon, so he was trying to get
an edge.

Yeah, I think we'll see a uber motivated Holm coming out of this match.  After being beat by Tate like that in the last fight I'd imagine she's itching to get back in the octagon and take back what she lost asap.  Her opponent is also coming off from a loss vs Amanda Nunes of all people.

my friend told me that holm will gonna win. but the odds on betting her is too low. thats why i make gamble for her opponent. you will never know what is the result until the match end. haha

how the hell is barboza and melendez not the main event

I'm sure Holm will win on that match versus Shevchenko. Her lose versus tate is very lucky imo, because Tate take down holm and as you can see, Tate lose her belt easily 3 days ago.

Interested to see Holm fight after the loss. She got caught late vs tate and I thought she was winning. Some in her camp said with all the
attention after the rousey fight she didnt train that great and her cardio was lacking. Which is why tate was able to get to her late. Hopefully
holm looks good so we get that rousey rematch.
