What's wrong with letting people decide what is correct or not by themselves, not holding their hands?  Smiley

And what's wrong with people commenting on your threads and voicing their opinion on what you choose to post about (especially when they feel like you're spreading fud and incorrect propoganda)?

ABSOLUTLY NOTHING.

Then I don't see what the problem is here. If you want to keep posting threads, especially ones political in nature, be prepared for opposing views.

Do not reply to what I just wrote right now IF the thread title does not concern you. But if you do, I would like to thank all of you with ALL your comments. I will NEVER expect people to like what I share, but I would always respect their point of view by NEVER lock a thread or delete a comment.

But the thread title concerns me very much. The headline you posted accused my country's police force of arresting a man for political motives, before going on to admit in the article that they did no such thing - he just happened to be quoting Churchill on the day he was trespassing and harassing people. I didn't request that your thread be deleted or locked, I am criticising you for reposting something you know to be misleading and letting others know why it is.

You are saying this title and I are misleading the whole community, like I did many times before from my illustrious history according to you. You are telling everyone in this thread "Beware! Wrong! No such a thing ever happened! Don't believe it!". I believe this is what you are saying pretty much. You are not and will not be the only one who will use his own judgement to, either think the same or come to a different conclusion than yours by reading the title then read the article.

What's wrong with letting people decide what is correct or not by themselves, not holding their hands?  Smiley

The misleading title might be coming from the website but you're responsible when you continue to promote and peddle this crap. You still posted the misleading title and have posted crap like this before. You might want to start checking the facts before you share such nonsense stories from such nonsense sites.

You are full of crap yourself if you waste your time replying to a thread you don't believe in or care about. You can of course flag every single of my post to the thought police if you feel personally attacked or something. Otherwise move along and go watch some reality TV shows Smiley

I don't see any logic in your reasoning at all.

Isn't the misleading title coming from the original website?

Wilikon, you know perfectly well (as does everyone else here) that reposting a headline verbatim implies your advocacy. If you were reporting, the thread title should be "Breitbart claims man was arrested for quoting Churchill".

This is not to mention the fact that you have a long and illustrious history of selectively posting articles only from right-wing nuts like Breitbart. No-one is "reporting you to the thought police", or whatever juvenile repression fantasy you have next, we're just tirelessly pointing out that your sources are full of crap, and your implied disavowal of bias is laughable. Think of it as a public service.

As an aside, your (or your favourite website's) defence of this man is beyond reproach. He is from a group that left the British Nazi Party for not being Nazi enough, and was arrested for trespassing and harassing passers-by.

And yet you keep bringing my thread back to the front page with your replies, over and over again.

Walk away. Ignore it. Do not click on it. Do not comment on it. Do not bite it. Do not smell it (my four legged friend). Do not reply to what I just wrote right now IF the thread title does not concern you.

But if you do, I would like to thank all of you with ALL your comments. I will NEVER expect people to like what I share, but I would always respect their point of view by NEVER lock a thread or delete a comment.

By the way me quoting and linking only "right wing nazi supporting" websites is a myth. I will try to always keep the main title of the link verbatim or if too long try to short it so it could fit, as you would know for my long and illustrious history.

But I understand it is lazier to fight a virtual character called "Wilikon" (what a stupid name by the way, who could come with something so inane?) than using google    Smiley

Misleading title.  Seems like the guy was arrested for trespassing.   Undecided

A misleading title from Wilikon? Never!  Tongue

Isn't the misleading title coming from the original website? I really don't mind if you think I was the one who wrote that article and created that title, but that would be false Smiley

I think there is more to the story than that. He must have refused to leave when the lady asked him to, if not she wouldn't have called the police. If the guy would have read the book in a park or at a crossroad, nothing would have happened. If he would read the book outside a pub on a saturday night...  Grin

Sort of seems like the penalty is not suited for what the police view as a crime.  I see good reason for this man to be charged

The leader of an anti-immigration pressure group has been arrested for quoting Winston Churchill. Paul Weston, chairman of LibertyGB, was taken into custody in Winchester, southern England, after delivering a speech in which he quoted an excerpt from the wartime Prime Minister's book The River War.

Addressing a gathering of people from the steps of Winchester Guildhall, Weston quoted the passage:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith."

A woman came of the Guildhall and asked Weston if he had authorisation to make the speech. He replied that he did not, at which point she called him "disgusting" and called the police. At least six police officers arrived, questioned by-standers and arrested Weston and took him away. Britain's ITV News is now reporting the story.

LibertyGB claims that Weston spent several hours at Winchester Police Station, after which the original charge of breaching a Section 27 Dispersal Notice was dropped. Weston was "re-arrested" for a Racially Aggravated Crime, under Section 4 of the Public Order Act, which carries a potential prison sentence of 2 years.

He was fingerprinted and obliged to submit to DNA sampling, following which he was bailed with a return date to Winchester Police on May 24th.

LibertyGB was set up in 2013 by disaffected supporters of the British National Party. It is one of several groups that were founded as the BNP disintegrated, and is standing candidates in forthcoming European Elections.

The River War, written in 1899, recounts Churchill's experiences as a British Army Officer in the Anglo-Sudan War of 1881-1899. Churchill is still regarded in high esteem by most of the British public, with a 2002 BBC poll voting him the greatest Briton of all time.
