Lol, if the web is to be believed, its currently easier to buy space travel with BTC than it is to get food from Tesco's with BTC. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/11/22/when_hot_cash_meets_a_vacuum_virgin_galactic_takes_bitcoin/

It probably is, but you're gonna need a lot of coins. Hopefully i'll be able to afford it in the future when the price of BTC goes to the moon and I can ride along with it.

how long does the newbie stuff last??

So, if you could buy anything with BTC big or small what would it be??

Apart from new parts, I'd love to pay my rent and bills with it, do you think if i sent EDF some BTC they would be happy???

Not long. I've been here a little over a month and my posts are down to about 30 seconds I think.

I'd like to be able to buy most things in BTC. I hope for the day when many online retailers or highstreet shops accept Bitcoin.

Yeah, i;ve seen a couple of sites that are coming in 2014, what i'm ideally looking for is a site that less good/useful computer parts to make more mining rigs. I know i can just exchange to GBP but i like the idea of spending BTC to grow how much i can then spend on other products like food.

You should copy what you type then submit, if the rules kicks it, you just paste your copied text into the box. Just my little tip.

Wish I had the capital to start a UK BTC store, I know plenty of people who want to buy parts just with BTC, the only stores i see at the moment sell things that no one really wants.
But i'm happy to see real shops/bars/food for BTC starting to pop up.

Yeah, I think there's going to be a helluva lot more popping up in 2014 too. There's a thread on UK businesses accepting Bitcoin: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-uk-organisations-who-take-bitcoin-261667

Sadly not.

I did learn yesterday that takeaway.com accepts BTC which is cool.

So far i've only found sites offering random bits of electronic crap or abandoned sites.

I'm wanting to buy a new TV but I might wait for a UK store to start accepting them before I do. I'm going to mail Richer Sounds about accepting Bitcoin soon.

Sadly not.

Yeah, I think I might make my first Bitcoin purchase on there. I'm waiting for the price to rise back up first though haha.

I might order something from Takeaway.com at the end of the month with my money from PrimeDices sig payout.

Hey,

standard first few posts to move onto other threads.

I was wondering if there were any sites that are based/delivered to the UK for computer components, and deal in BTC.
I know of several US sites, but the crazy delivery/tax costs makes it pointless.
I wish Gyft would hurry up to a UK site.

Cheers
Cap

I haven't heard of any as of yet. Have you checked http://coinmap.org?
