firstly the amount of people that had the virus is still low. (try learning math)

secondly if a restaurant is informed a patron tested positive for covid and thus other patrons were at risk. then it is the restaurant that then hand over the patrons that were in the establishment the same time.
(not all patron for all days)i know you want to think that all details are handed over to NHS the instant you write it down. but that is not the case
also the one contact number is because the hope is that one contact will then themselves contact the other people they came with.
thus it defeats you 'government surveillance' cries because they are not gathering numbers of all your party nor gathering it when its not needed. nor gathering it for non covid tracing uses
in short if a restaurant didnt have a covid infectee in their establishment the restaurant doesnt hand the number to anyone and is binned in a few weeks

thirdly
restaurants wont ask for home addresses. they only ask for a name and telephone number. so all you need to do is put a realname[or] nickname and a phone number.

fourthly.
its not 80% inaccurate(false positives) its 80% accurate with 20% saying negative when it should be positive
this 20% discrepency is not a test fault. its actually only because some people are asking for test before getting symptoms so the amount of virus in their system is too low to measure, or they have bad hygiene and it has contaminated the sample
having symptoms and testing to see what it is, is a accurate test. getting tested with no symptoms is stupid because the virus may not manifest into anything to worry about in some cases. and may manifest into something but your just too soon to tell. thus wasting a test

this is why in the UK they are trying their best to only test people with symptoms to get the most accurate results which are above 90%

when that would mean for the last 200 days 320k people had to be infected every day
sorry but not even at the peak was it anywhere near 320k on the most highest peak day.
not even 320k if you were to exagerate a 1000% 'asymptomatic' number
the peak had a 6k. so using your exagerated asymptomatic of 1000% thats 60k
if the peak stayed for 200 days that would 12mill =20%
20% infected at a maximum exageration of constant peak that lasts 200 days
reality is below 10% if you tried to do some maths. even with the exageration 1000% but with using actually daily counts

While they do have major flaws, just telling people that you're going to be collecting their info and that if they don't follow protocols then they're going to be fined is typically enough to convince them to not mess around. Last thing you want is to end up with a (I'm using this number as an example) $1000 fine just because you didn't write your name on a piece of paper.

Will some people lie? TOTALLY.

Will most people lie? Probably not. I expect most people to be honest with giving up their info. It truly does help in the event that someone is sick, and you can contact the people they may have crossed paths with. The other way of contact tracing is relying on peoples memory or making them install an app (both extremes of either being really lax or really involved) that'll track them all the time.

TBH I'm all for it. Most restaurants have already implemented track and trace, the government making it compulsory just makes it easier for us. Before if we asked for details it was often met with abuse, now we can just say 'its mandatory' and that can be that. It takes a lot of pressure of hospitality staff.

If the government calls me saying I've been somewhere where a covid positive person has been I'd want to know. Self isolation is fine.

People putting down wrong names and numbers are only putting themselves at risk, if they're a carrier and don't know it, its their own fault for not supplying contact details. I dont care if someone is putting down the wrong details, thats their problem, I care that the people who put down the correct details are being kept as safe as possible. The system is by no means perfect but it has worked a fair few times when different cafes/restaurants have closed down temporarily due to covid and people who went there alerted. Its better than nothing.

I'm looking at this from the perspective of hospitality staff and for me I just see this as the government making my life easier when it comes to difficult customers.

It's easier to just fill in the form as Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street. If enough people do it, then maybe he will have to self-isolate.

Then, people need to:
1. Invoice the man/woman who is a government official, for difficulties these people are causing in your life by use of their governmental office. Try to invoice them for a practical amount. But if you believe it is worth 500 pounds to you, invoice them for that amount;
2. When they don't pay, take them to Queen's Bench court...;
3. Stand unrepresented in the court...;
4. Require that the man/woman you accused appear, and get a summary judgment against them when they don't. But if they do appear...;
5. Require them to show the reason for their commandeering of your property, your body. There are only two reasons they can commandeer your property: you gave them consent through some contract you signed; you harmed someone or his/her property;
6. When they can't produce such document or injury, let the jury decide. If your fellow people are sick enough of the fake pandemic, you will win your invoice amount. If they like the fake pandemic, you will lose...

But even if you lose, it will show other people what they can do, and a bunch of them just might invoice their government people. Remember to invoice them as PEOPLE, ACTING in their governmental capacity ilegally, not as government officials.

The same for the Book Store I went to last week, where they told us to write our name and addresses for contact tracing. I wrote some different names and phone numbers and when they need to contact trace me, they need to watch the CCTV and put my face on the TV to find me. Good enough to give them a headache for giving us false information since the beginning of this crisis. I wonder how they treat all of the positive prisoners at once when they announced hundreds of them were positive and after a few weeks, they are all tested negative. There are clear signs that they doctored the results and by doing that, they can gather as much of the government funds as they could.

The restaurant that I am in at the moment has tables set far apart, and it has additional plastic barriers between them. The queue to pay has clearly marked intervals to maintain social distancing.

The only pros seems to be that the gov. gets to fine the restaurant £1,000 if it can prove an offence has been committed, and they get to collect phone numbers to spam with Pharma propaganda.

Filling this forms has major flaws, there is no way to be sure people will fill their correct information (wrong phone numbers for example), since the workers at the restaurant can't cross-check it with the customers ID or something and I'm sure quite a lot of people would do that so they'll be able to eat at the restaurant they want to without having to worry about receiving a call from the 'government' that they've been exposed to the virus; what about people receiving wrong calls they were at a restaurant they have prolly not been to this year, i have to agree with you that this is somewhat silly.

Tbh, I don't see any pros in this mandate, they could simply set tables far apart from each other and that's enough (social distancing) imo.

What a stupid waste of money. The UK doesn't have a working contact tracing system, and it is being reported that 80% of tests are inaccurate, and any action will be too late anyway. The tests don't check for immunity, and most people should be immune by now, unless they have been self-isolating of course. There is a £1,000 fine for restaurants that serve people who haven't supplied a form, but they aren't required to check the details.

The forms are pretty useless anyway.  They ask for a name,and the date and time of entry, and also a telephone number and a count of the number of people in your party ( but they don't have to fill in forms). If they think that you have been near to a person with a positive test, then they will notify you, and you have to self-isolate for 14 days. It's madness, as you could have been sirring 50 yards away from the tested person, and there is no way they can check for proximity. I reckon it is just a way to collect phone numbers to spam with their fake virus warnings.

I wonder how many people will submit details such as Boris Johnson, 10 Downing Street, and will he have to self-isolate if the alert is triggered.
