The U.K always seems to want to show that they are willing to throw their own people off a cliff to prove a point. This one seems to be over the line as I am pretty sure there are Universities set up where you can download from them all kinds of content. Not a very well thought out plan, must have had a discussion that was geared towards a set aspect to come to this conclusion.
Can see people agreeing with this in a attempt to crack down on kiddie porn but nothing else makes sense of this.

Seems to be a joke in every country... Where the leaders don't give 2 fucks what their citizens want

Do you happen to know how much of a bribe it costs to get a law passed in the UK?

In America, Hillary Clinton accepts $225,000 in speaking fees per bribe... I'm curious if you get a better deal on the other side of the pond

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/04/22/ten_years_for_filesharing/

Some disturbing news from UK.

After running public consultation, in which vast majority disagreed with such high and disproportionate punishment, UK gov decided to ignore it and will be pushing for up to 10 years in prison for filesharing.

Quote
On the ten-year jail sentence proposal, the official summary notes: "Concerns were also raised about the proposed increase in maximum sentence, which was criticised for being the same or higher than other serious offences such as rape, some firearms offences, rioting and child cruelty."

I want off this ride.
