Hmm, it will be interesting. Mister Zelensky isn't a good choice in our situations. Right now, I can only see and wait.

Thanks, everybody for response. This thread will be locked.

The results are out for the 2nd round. Volodymyr Zelensky will be the new president of Ukraine, and he was elected with more than 73% of the vote. Only one out of the 26 provinces voted in favor of the oligarch Petro Poroshenko. For me this is an interesting sign. The Ukrainians were tired of rampant corruption, and they discarded the Russophobic oligarchs in favor of a moderate newcomer. All Poroshenko did was to inject poison in to the brains of Ukrainians, using it as an opportunity to loot billions of USD worth of state funds.

First of all people outside Ukraine don't really give a shit about who is your president and how your elections are going. From what I know the Ukraine is a completely failed state, exactly as european Somalia. From what I see right now 9.4% of their export it seed oils, this is just like those banana countries in africa. Also one of the main ukrainian export items, unofficially ofcourse, is women. It seems like you can find ukranian prostitutes at all parts of EU.
This country is alive just because it is getting fees for a russian gas tube, that's it.
Ukraine is a european shithole, I don't think that I want to see them in EU. No matter what shitty president you gonna choose this time.

Hmm, I wasn't shocked, cause a lot of EU citizens don't realise why it is important to stay Ukraine Alive.

its not about ukraine its about, the gimmicks of regime people that have been installed there. there is a central bank agenda driven media and press system installed there. and they want to have the ukranians as money earning cattle.

believe me no one in the world cares about the ukranian president, only people that matter are the central bankers. and the ukranian money is worthless, there are no investments in ukraine because no one knows where this country is headed (west or east)

so everyone is just trying to scam and abuse ukraine

I am a slightly global political enthusiast and one of the most interesting topics I had encountered is this. The topic of the candidacy of Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Why?
He is a comedian and he has no previous political experience and then he is now running as a candidate of a presidency. We can tell that he is famous enough to be known by your people but what would the fame do about the problems your country is facing right now? This is my own opinion but if you really want to build your country and wanted it to be developed, you must have a strong leader with a piece of high knowledge in politics, economics, military and so on.

Poroshenko is probably the most hated candidate in Ukrainian elections. Tymoshenko is a cunning **tch. And the only viable candidate would be Zelensky. With the new Nord stream nearing completion, Ukraine needs a strong and neutral person to tackle economic and social crisis Ukraine is heading towards.

The Ukrainians are still living in a fool's paradise. They think that if they sabotage the Nord Stream 2, then they can extort Russia all the money they want for the gas transit. But that is not going to happen. With the completion of South Stream, Russia will be able to honor the minimum volume requirements even without using the Ukrainian transit.

I want to hear a person from the USA or other countries which is far from Ukraine. What to do you think about our current president and mister Zelinsky?

I don't know much about Ukraine or the candidate (Zelinsky). But I will try to answer your question from my perspective. It looks like Mr. Zelinsky is much more moderate when compared to Mr. Poroshenko. On top of that Poroshenko is a billionaire who may gain from any resurgence of violence, while Zelinsky has nothing to gain from any such situation. So if I have to chose between Zelinsky and Poroshenko, then I'd go for the former.

Ofcourse Ukraine is important. Russian nature gas is exported to Germany by tubes, that lay on the ukranian ground. When ukranians finaly destroy this tube, before russia builds another one, EU budget would suffer a great losses (mostly in german industry). That's the only thing why people know and care about ukrain.

the amerikans dont care who the ukranian president is, i am afraid everything the united states want is to install a usdollar supportive central bank in ukraine.

i mean seriously the amerikans dont even, care who their own president is, trump was elected with only 60 percent participation and it was a coin throw election result.

regards

I'm not from USA r other country outside europe, but I will share my opinion about Poroshenko and Zelensky. I have negative opinion about both of them, especially after watching theire debates today. But if I would have to choose, I would pick Poroshenko probably.
There are lot of problems in Ukraine in recent years - corruption, Poroshenko didn't anything to stop it, lot of people leaving Ukraine now, they lost Crimea and still didn't regained control of estern Ukraine region. But at least Ukraine is slowly heading towards EU now.
Zelensky is just a puppet of Kolomoisky. If Zelensky will become president, Ukraine simply will move from one oligarch to hands of another oligarch. How comedian who don't have any experience in politics can become president of country. Is it enough just to make TV series where he is shown as a great president to get support of 70% people. Ukraine is in shitty situation now with all problems around it and guy like Zelensky aren't capable to make things better.
Personally, I'm supporting you and I'm glad to know that from people from countries of the first world. And I'm scared for the future of my country.
