I'm so happy I got in before the 5k mark they just hit 1000 ETH tonight I just hope its not a pack of whales looking to dump hard on launch date.

I really doubt that at this point. They have been very active and are answering all question with data to back it up....I really think this is going to be the next big coin this year

Just in case someone on this thread didn't realize, the crowdfund went live and it's still in presale. In few hours, they have already raised 165 ETH. I grabbed few thousand UMC during pre-sale. So excited on possibilities Smiley
Thanks for the heads up man I just dropped a few ETH in the pot cant wait until they hit the exchange.

I do not know much about this umbrella coin, the first step if you want to invest, learn everything first, and whether this coin will be quite bright future? Let's wait and see.

The idea seems pretty original. The team appears to be pretty reputable. They've got my support so far. Less than a week from the ICO!!

Hey thank you for the links. I didn't have much time to read them. I am going to look into deep on the voting system. Also, i notice that gas and neo is blowing up too. If only I had a time machine ...... is Neo is going to beat ETH.
There prototype is up on the site now, Its not finished yet but kind of gives you a idea how the voting and claims system will work, When it comes to the market it has been exploding for the last 2 weeks but I feel there's gonna be a correction especially for NEO and QTUM, If Neo works outside of China then yes it could as its service is much more versatile than ETH.

So I check up on this ICO every few days and I've Been bouncing around looking for news today and found these two articles about Umbrella Coin.

http://ethereumworldnews.com/insurance-industry-to-be-changed-by-blockchain-technology/

https://themerkle.com/umbrella-coin-aims-to-change-the-insurance-industry/

They also got listed on a few ICO websites and these are the ones I've found so far.

https://www.icocountdown.com/
https://tokenmarket.net/blockchain/ethereum/assets/umbrella-coin/
https://www.coingecko.com/ico/umbrellacoin?locale=en

If you guys find anymore listings let me know but I'm liking this movement and this project seems to be getting a lot of support as there ICO grows closer to release.

I didn’t know Umbrella coin before. Just read your link and searched white paper. It is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Seems it’s a good concept and good team handling it. Still it is in growing stage, so at this moment we cannot say anything for sure until ico get success. Hope it may has a bright future?

And they're getting listed in various sites such as ICO Countdown, Dapps.ethercast etc. and got a very high rating (4.1) by a rating company (I will have to look up which one it was-- don't remember off the top of my head). A hard-working team with a committed marketing is what makes a product great and I see the future to be bright with UmbrellaCoin.

The site isn't the most flashy but its still good and understandable, The white paper has evolved quite a bit from the start and the progress there team has made is a sign that there's good potential here.
They just drop there bonus for the pre-release with a 100% more tokens for the first 5000 ETH dropped along with a update for there client on the medium.

Their team sounds good + they have working prototypes already, and they're filling in a much needed space. I am sorry I kind of missed what your objections were?

I do like the fact they aren't becoming yet another insurance firm using blockchain rather than traditional structures. Then you'll face regulatory hurdles sooner or later, and eventually be taken down by the insurance cartel. Complementing insurance is a smart idea, where these guys are covering hidden costs such as deductibles, pre-existing conditions, copays etc. which insurances due to their monopolies deny. So for the product, I am really optimistic.

As far as business model and money-making potential, I've been trying to follow them on various platforms to get a better idea and my best guess is they're relying on 1) investing unpaid amounts into other cryptocurrencies or just let UMC gain in value by creating an increased demand for their products; 2) have termination fees for canceling policies mid-term. There was discussion in the white-paper on various strategies to keep the pool solvent.

The only concern from these remains is how legitimate these guys are. There I started analyzing with credentials: developers in decent companies, with a fair mix of some marketing guys. They've a github page, which keeps getting updated. But the most surprising for me was having a staging app much before their crowdsale. That made me optimistic they are actually in it for building the product, and not just asking for our money like many other ICOs have done. One thing which scares me is regulatory hurdles they might face down the road if ICO's start getting regulated by SEC, but as of now that's not a concern so I am Bullish on it.

While I love this project Its Dev teams experience, and its potential to help the community it has going for it,  I'm still curious to know what kind of defenses this platform will have from potential for Facebook/Reddit/4chan groups trying to exploit the voting system. I know there's talk about vote limitation but what about someone who creates multiple accounts?

I don't know much about this coin and it's quite young but if its project will attract a lot of investors, then i think it will have a promising future. However, since this coin is new and still needs further development, we can never expect a 100% assurance that it will truly succeed but we can cross our fingers and hope it will.

If am not wrong then I think Umbrellacoin is related to Insurance and there are many coins and ICO's right now, though their idea is good and can contribute to the society but it is highly unlikely that every owner will think about making a social cause.

You may be right for that, but I think if you want to see a good ICO project, especially from their future concepts and prospects, maybe I think the concept and prospect of this project is very good and very convincing in the future, if you Mention the Project Owner with The concept of what they create is unlikely to be the same, because we all here do not understand about his thinking, so all we have to see is the concept and prospect of the project itself. I just found out there is someone who likens the concept of ICO project to the owner, I think your thinking like this is very wrong to judge a project.

How? How would they generate revenue, on what seems to be a charity fund??

From what I can see, you have to hold their tokens in their wallet for at least 6 months, or trade the back with a 10% penalty.

After 6 months you could trade the tokens back with no penalty (if approved). REALLY?

Flashy website, a plan that doesn't make sense... need I say more?

We're generating revenue based on startup costs for creating a policy, early withdrawal fees (which have had the date and percentage increased after we ran some simulations), fraudulent claim fees and potentially investing existing float, like a traditional insurance company would.

There are existing services that allow you get your funds back with no penalty (https://www.lemonade.org). We're planning on following a similar model to them but, because the community reviews claims rather than a centralized organization, fees can be lower.

Thanks for calling our website flashy, though! None of us have a background in web design!

Been chatting with the Devs about how there service will function and it seems like a cool idea to help out someone who finds themselves having one of those days if you know what I mean.

but the ico is an ico. you know what the sistem. but you dont know whats happend next after closed. but we just think positive and we hope this coin will be rising in the future.

The game of crypto is in its self a huge unknown but I understand where your coming from, Ive been burned a few times on both live coins and ICO's I was even a part of the Superior coin disaster but we must stay positive and look to the future, I see quite a few up and coming Dev teams promoting amazing services with great transparency and a stellar team and I place Umbrella Coin in that lot,
The true test of there integrity will be the progress they make in the next few weeks and as long as they stay active I'm going to drop a few ETH there way.

I was a little skeptical at first but I've been watching this ICO for over a week now and there content just keeps growing.
The Devs are quick to respond to any questions thrown at them,They have a solid and growing development team most whos LinkedIn pages are pretty easy to find and these guys have a solid work background.
They also just overhauled there website the other day and are very active on the forums.

The project seems like its young but very promising and I cant wait to see how this turns out.

Not sure about this coin . But there are many better altcoins in pre ICO stages currently which are genuine and if some investment made in this coins may yield you good returns for future. Do you research before investing in any unknown altcoins as they may lead a heavy loss to you .

I found a new coin here that looks like the next big thing. My friend was talking about it how they have a plan to help people with financial stress. So far they are building a system that is leading up to that.
here is the web site

https://www.umbrellacoin.org/

I am new to this. I just want to hear any opinions from anyone that knows.
