Add the pray for ViaBTC to find a block option  Grin
I was reading your topic at '58 mins so, with nothing better to do, I did submit your tx in the first seconds.
Looks like OP got lucky... as did ViaBTC! Wink Transaction got included in block# 629574 which was mined by ViaBTC...

Although the fee rates on the network are slowly decreasing... so it would probably have confirmed "naturally" about now anyway... anything above 20 sats/byte is most likely "next block" at the moment:

Thank you very much for this feed back sir! So it shows accelerators are really working! It's not an urban legend!  Smiley

Anyhow, the mempool will start going down, the weekend is here.
Thank you for him. The guy forgot to thank you but I thank you for him.

I have an unconfirmed transaction from 8 hours ago. The fee I paid was 32.505 sat/B. Is this expected for the low fee I used?

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/5caaf02c7226d9c861838ae80187cd869fcd055b63a07ca6fa4f570134538798

Try not to change the fee next time when you are performing a transaction. I generally select normal fee for my transaction and they get confirmed within half an hour.

If you reduce the fee then there are chances that your transaction might not be picked up by the miners. This can cause your transaction to remain unconfirmed for more than 24 hours or it might never.

Yup, that is usual specially if you select all remaining balance. make sure to either lessen your total amount to transfer or also increase the fee and that should solve your problem.
Lowering the amount to transfer wont always make the transaction faster, it doesn't work that way.
If the user have received a lot of small transactions and it takes 10-30 of them to send the desired amount, then it will work,
but most of the time (like in OP's case), the client will only use one input so lowering the amount wont do anything.

Info:
It all depends on the size (vByte) of the transaction (more inputs/outputs = higher size) and the fee rate that you've set.
The higher the size the higher the total fee that you will need to pay but the priority will still be based from the fee rate (sat/B).

Eg.:
  • 1. [1 input 2 outputs] 200Bytes transaction that sent 5BTC with 100sat/B fee rate will pay 0.00020000BTC fee
  • 2. [10 inputs 2 outputs] 1,500Bytes transaction that sent 0.1BTC with 50sat/B fee rate will pay 0.00075000BTC fee
In this case, Transaction 1 will be mined first even if it's sending more bitcoins and have lower total fee if the priority rate is at 51+sat/B at that time.

This explains how to avoid having multiple inputs: Consolidate your small inputs!

My recent transaction was stuck for two days because i used less fee too. I think we should use the default fee if we want the transaction to be confirmed on time. If you can wait for some time, you may opt for less fee but if you need to confirm in quick time, we need to increase the tx fee.

Yes that is normal, i did transfer my eth last night it would take 5 hrs before the completion of transaction so i decided to increase the fee and it goes well.

Pretty sure ETH & Bitcoin network has different congestion. 5 hours of ETH transactions does not sound so good btw. You might want to check your fees as that network spike more often.

The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 114 satoshis/byte

Just wait a little more
Firstly, as I mentioned in the post immediately above yours, with the pretty pictures... OPs transaction is already confirmed! Roll Eyes

Secondly, where are you getting your fee information from? Or was your 114 a typo and you mean 14? Because 114 is WAAAYYYYYYYY too much...

Currently, anything north of 20-25 sats/byte is likely to be 1 or 2 blocks...

114 is just ridiculous!!?! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

You just copy/pasted from: https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ right? Don't use that site... it's terrible at telling you what the best fees are... Tongue If you want "simple" and don't want to put any effort into figuring out what to use... try this one: https://btc.com/stats/unconfirmed-tx It's much much better than the earn.com one.

Yeah, your fee rate is 4-5 full blocks from the tip:

To get confirmed within the next 5 blocks, you'd need for no-one to add any transaction(s) with a higher fee rate than yours Undecided

Given what is happening with the network right now, and the BTC-$ price flirting with USD$10k... I'd expect things to be quite chaotic for a while. As TryNinja has suggested, your only options at this point are:

1. Wait.
2. Bump the fee if your wallet supports "RBF" (Replace-by-fee) and you marked the transaction as "RBF opt-in".
3. Try and use "CPFP" (Child Pays For Parent) if you have control over any of the outputs created by this transaction.
4. Spend $$$ trying to use a paid transaction accelerator service like: https://pushtx.btc.com/
5. Try the free (but difficult to get a slot) accelerator at: https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ (limited to 100 slots per/hr, usually fills within 5 seconds of a new hour starting! Shocked)

Be wary of all the "scam" accelerators tho... they don't work and there are plenty of them about!

Yes. The mempool is spiking again (probably due to the Bitcoin price rise and halvening coming soon).

Right now, transactions are bearing the 50 sat/byte+ fee, so you will probably need to wait a bit more: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h

Or, if you are the one receiving the transaction or you sent through Electrum with the RBF flag enabled, you may speed up the transaction with CPFP or RBF.
