$100 you can get 7770 or 7790, with proper settings 7770 is 200Kh, the 7790 is a bit higher by a few points

$180-$200 you can get a R9 270 which is 2.5x faster it can get 450-470Kh with proper settings, some people say XFX is bad brand for graphics cards though, never tried them though but i've stayed away just because of bad stigma lol

The extra shaders on the 7870 / 270x do not help improve numbers greately over their lesser brothers.

270 reg single 6 pin connector with 1500mhz ram = 400-450khs @ ~115w = best performance / watt under $150.

7850 is 2nd best option under 150 performance / watt, but they don't come with the ram 270s do so it's somewhat rare to get 400khs+ out of them.

6970 doesn't come close.  It's a 200w+ card that can only really do ~500khs.  Its performance / watt doesn't approach the 270.

270x and 7870's are a good deal, depending on the video ram they use. Some give 450+ Kh/s, with others you'll have an hard time reaching 380

If you keep a watch out you can pick up a 7850 for about $100.  Good for ~400Kh/s.

I was able to pickup a Sapphire R9 280x on Amazon for 299.99$ about 2 weeks ago. I have held off buying anymore as I keep hoping to find similar deals to that but that was a steal at this point in time. I just checked on the R9 270x cards and it looks like they are 230-250$ at the major retails now.

You got the best advice above probably. Look on ebay as well, I was able to get an HD 6950 from there for only $145 with shipping. The Radeon R9 270x is a hugely underrated card as well that only costs $199 brand new, and most places have them in stock. Due to the high demand for the 280x and 290x they've become increasingly hard to find, and most of the retailers that do have them in stock have marked them up $100 over the suggested retail price. The 270x has so far not seen this problem, and bang for the buck it's a very very nice card.

Asus r9 270x can get about 460kh/s

Either a HD 6970 or HD 7870, used of course and on Craigslist. I got my 2x HD 6970's for $220 and do 1000 kh/s. That's cheaper than buying a HD 7950 for $300 to $450 that does only 550 to 700 kh/s.

Where did you got 2x 6970 for 220$ ?

Read his post, and you'll find out.

Mining Litecoin isn't as profitable as mining other Scrypt coins. Mine a profitable Scrypt coin then convert to Litecoin and/or Bitcoin later. Litecoin is a scrypt coin itself too.

Which is the best AMD card for mining scrypt Under $150 ? Even you can post if you've some used cards for sale. I want to mine some coin. Mostly litecoin. Is it worthy to buy a Card under $150 and will it provide me profit within 2-3 Months ? Please let me know even if the card can be used for gaming!
