Has anyone undervolted their S1, if so how long has it been running undervoltated and how often do you have to re-apply the pencil mod.

Any one ballsy enough to put solder a resister onto it?
I soldered resistors on mine, it takes less than 5 minutes to do a unit. If you've got a proper iron and some experience, I'd recommend it over the pencil mod.

What resistor did you use?

Run it in parallel?

Seems I want to go for 2.9k Ohm.

If it's 4.47K ohm to get 2.9k Ohm,

1/2.9 = 1/4.47 + 1/x

.3448 = .2237 + 1/x

.1211 = 1/x

x = 8.257K ohms.

Or do you just replace the resistor?

I just soldered an 8.25k resistor on top of the existing one. Removing the original would probably triple the amount of time the mod takes.

I had at one time 9 penciled modded and they worked great for months until I sold them. Here is the thread on how to do it https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-undervolt-antminer-s1-119wgh-at-the-wall-526060
