Don't we need something as a "undo" button for this scenario?
Don't you think spammers will be able to undo many months ago posts? You have well be answered but know that after some times, posts deleted are no more on draft page.
Whereever there is an undo button, it does not work after many months. Undo button works like at the maximum of 15 seconds after the post was made. Undo does not last for long. But I do not think the Undo button is very necessary because the steps to delete posts is not a one step. It is a two step. You will first click on delete and then another pop up will come to make sure that you have reconfirmed that you want to delete the post. It will be rare to make mistake in the two steps.
I also know that there are people that use to achieve every post that is been made, since the bots can help we use them. Bots have actually put many functions in the forum that was not there from beginning.

I don't think it's required actually, firstly bitcointalk asks for a reconfirmation about deletion of a post which if we click ok then only the post gets deleted, so chances of deleting by mistake is so less, and if anyone wants to get back their post if say, makes the mistake of both clicking on delete and then confirm it, they can get their post back from archive I guess.

I was thinking that if this forum lacks an Undo button. Sometimes we may delete the post by mistake and need to un-delete that post. As per my knowledge, there is no way that action can be reverted and the post could not be restored.

Don't we need something as a "undo" button for this scenario?

Good suggestion, but the possibility of getting that on the current software is slim, especially since the forum's new software is already in development. Maybe you can move or suggest the same thing in the >>New forum software<<. The suggestions here wouldn't solve the deleted post, using the alternative Archive feature of Ninjastic and Loycev to recover your comment would change everything about your post ID and other information.

If the post was old and only just deleted, you could also use the back button and go back to the page just before you hit delete to be able to see the post again (you'll lost your formatting but you'll at least not have to write everything out again - especially if it was too old to be saved in your drafts).

We do have an warning message before deleting the post
Warnings take too long, use your middle mouse button on the delete button instead Cheesy

Ninjastic.space and loyce.club don't archive later edits. If you've edited a lot, and if you can't find back your post in your drafts, a last resort may be asking Admin to restore your post. I personally would only consider asking that if a post that took many hours to write.

It will post as a new post at the end of the thread. It won't restore at its original location.
It's true, but you can tell anyone it's an old post that you shouldn't be deleting. I wouldn't think it's a big deal to you if you really want that post back unless the thread has been locked by the author.

I'm not sure if you're having trouble deleting the current post incorrectly, but if it does then you can try what these guys suggest.

We do have an warning message before deleting the post if I am not wrong which is enough and that is what followed even on the most updated platforms as well so if we need that undo feature then admin may add but definitely it will not be in his priority list of to do list.
That reminder should already be able to help users to consider deletion carefully so do not delete posts carelessly.

That's not about accidentally closing a tab and restoring the post through drafts or any third party editor. To make it more clear, let me give an example. Suppose i posted in a thread two days ago, now today while scrolling my past posts, i accidentally delete that post. Now there is no option that post can be un-delete and restored at the original location.

Use a 3rd party text editor like notepad or notepad++  if you want to compose a lengthy post especially if you have a mouse with two buttons on the side that could cause you to close the tab accidently.

Or use this instead - https://www.sceditor.com/

If you accidentally deleted your own post you can just go to this link https://loyce.club/archive/posts/ then put the msgID or topicID or userID choose any of that options and look for your deleted post then click the scraped you can copy it and post it again.

It will post as a new post at the end of the thread. It won't restore at its original location.

I'm not so sure this feature is really needed right now on the forums nor would it make sense to have it. If you really need a deleted post to get it back, I think Loyce.club and ninjastic.space have the archives for you. Apart from that this site also works the same for other users' posts if you want to get their posts deleted.

You can just use drafts for that: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/drafts-511677
