Or try a VPN with LocalBitcoin.

KYC is mandatory so I'm afraid VPNs won't help with the restriction. Even if KYC is not mandatory, it's not advisable to do so due to the nature of CEXes where they hold their users funds and can request KYC at any time.

Try Bybit P2P exchange feature which US citizen is still allowed to use.

Sadly, united states is restricted according from their TOS:

We do not offer services or products to Users in a few excluded jurisdictions including the United States,

To be fair though I think the United States is still one of the best countries to be in.

Better compared to which country, North Korea, Iraq or maybe Afghanistan? The country with the highest number of mass murders in the world, the highest number of firearms per person, not to mention the fact that they elect politicians who are either completely crazy or senile and countless other absurdities that you can only find in that promising country.

In addition, when it comes to cryptocurrencies, do you like their taxes or maybe there is something else that attracts you to that country?

I'm in the 🇺🇸.

Are there alternatives that work in the 🇺🇸?

Don’t know if it works in US or not, but have you tried paxful? It’s the most famous alt of localbitcoins.
Also you can try localcryptos.com, it doesn’t have large amount of traders, but yes they have legit ones.
Moreover I don’t want to recommend anything beyond which I haven’t personally used.
You can also use here in the forum to exchange P2P With other fellow Bitcointalk members.
Just don’t send your money or Bitcoins to newbies at first here.
Hope this helps you OP.

Try Bybit P2P exchange feature which US citizen is still allowed to use. It has no KYC requirements but you will have limit to your account but still good if you are a normal user with 1000$ limit per day for KYC. This is the only CEX that I know that offer non KYC customers the freedom to use there platform that still have a good limit compared to existing CEX in the market.

I thought they remove this feature some time ago? Or is it just for us here in Asia? Huh

But yeah, aside from Bybit, localcryptos like others mentioned is one thing that I remember that can help you trade P2P with no KYC. It's unfortunate that all these P2P exchange are slowly dying out in the era of CEX domination. KYC is also slowly creeping in on a lot of exchanges that were previously not affected by KYC. We know that this time will come but it's still quite saddening.

Guys, you live in the land of the free but it started to look like the opposite.

It was the opposite for a good while now. Land of the "free" as long as terms and conditions apply lol.

^To be fair though I think the United States is still one of the best countries to be in.
You meant the United States is still one of the best countries but only in some states and not as a whole country together, right?
And I think the other guy misunderstands how 'land of the free' work. You're free but only within the boundary of the laws. You don't want that kind of freedom where humans reduce to the wild beast, freely to do anything, including murder and rape.

To be honest, no KYC, alternative to LocalBitcoins.com or equivalent sound like a honey pot. You definitely don't want to associate with BTC come from whatever cartels out here are doing to washout and laundering their dirty money.

Go with no-KYC peer-to-peer services.

https://localcryptos.com/
https://hodlhodl.com/

Unfortunately they're not that widely used compared to how much LocalBitcoins have, but as far as I know these are the best we got right now.

Try checking those that don't require KYC first like localcryptos.com (they're open to US people and user friendly). You may also find other alternatives in kycnot.me (make sure to check the exchange TOS and support pages).

If for some reason nothing worked for your needs, there is paxful.com but note that they are centralized, has KYC required for US people and imo on the stricter side. Some states are restricted as well, see: https://paxful.com/support/en-us/articles/360025513353-Restrictions-For-Users-In-The-States-Of-New-York-Texas-Washington-And-West-Virginia
