Is this not perhaps some kind of phishing attempt? Is this all safe in the end? I wonder since I haven't been using the erc20 address on any weird places, but still I suddenly get this.

If you know the contract address of the token, simply copy it and paste it into the Etherscan search box. Now go to contract source and you will see the name of the token there.
